~Alpha Kilhan~
I was in the kitchen, reaching for a bottle of water in the fridge when Lucas, one of my Omegas, approached me.
“Alpha Kilhan, Jarius is here to see you.” He said, and I creased my brows at that information.
“Jarius? He was here like some days ago.” I uttered, and he nodded in agreement.
“True. He said he had something very urgent to tell you. He couldn’t wait until the next time he’s supposed to come.” Lucas answered, and I raised my eyebrows as my curiosity spiked.
“Really? I should see him then. Can you please get this glass of water to Jessica? She needs it urgently. And please tell her I’ll be there soon.” I said to him, and he nodded.
I hastily headed out of the kitchen and walked to my office. Approaching the door, I saw Jarius standing at the door, next to my guards.
“Jarius,” I called and he raised his head. When he saw me, he stood upright and bowed.
“Good day, Alpha Kilhan.” He greeted me.
“Good day. I’m surprised to see you today.” I responded and walked into the office after the guards opened the door.
“Yes. I’m sorry for the impromptu meeting, but I couldn’t just keep what I found for another minute.” He answered as he walked behind me.
“Really? You found out who killed my father already? Is it Ashley Grayson?” I asked, pointing to the couch so he could sit.
“It wasn’t Ashley Grayson, but I strongly believe she had something to do with it.” He replied, stretching the large envelope he had in his hand to me as I also settled down.
“I dug deeper into Ashley Grayson and her family, and I saw something very shocking.” He took a pause, causing me to raise my head.
“Go on,” I ordered as I pulled out the paper from inside the file.
“Ashley Grayson has a sister named Emily Grayson, she’s late now and rumor has it that she was killed by her husband. Now this is where it gets really shady.
“Emily’s middle name is Tima, and their mother’s first name is Maria.” Jarius further explained.
“Tima… Maria. Oh! The name of the account my father credited.” I uttered in realization, and Jarius nodded in agreement.
“Yes. Ashley must have come up with that name so that it wouldn’t be easy for us to trace the account to her.” Jarius further spoke, and I nodded, reading the paperwork.
“I also found out that Ashley was adopted by her parents and Emily was their real daughter, which created an enmity between them. Ashley never liked Emily, as she believed her parents loved her more than herself. This may explain why she used her sister’s name in her shady dealings.”
“But how does this all come down to my father’s death?” I asked as I was beginning to get tired of hearing their family drama.
“Because of Ashley’s hatred for Emily, she also had an affair with Emily’s husband.”
“What? What the hell is wrong with that woman anyway? Was she having an affair with him at the same time she was in a relationship with my father?”
“Yes! And the scariest part is...”
I raised my head to look at him. “What?” I asked with no ounce of fear in me.
“Emily’s husband is Alpha Darius Gomez, the king of New Orleans!”
Hearing his name, my heart stopped beating and my eyes widened in shock. “How the hell did we end up with Daruis in our business?!” Khan yelled in my head, causing me to clench my jaws.
“Alpha Darius Gomez? That monster?” My pupils dilated at the thought of it.
“Yes, Alpha Kilhan. And I strongly believe if Ashley was in a relationship with Alpha Darius, he must have known that she was also in a relationship with your father. Alpha Darius knows everything.”
“So what are you trying to say?”
“I’m saying your father must have been killed by Alpha Darius because of the love triangle between them. Alpha Darius never shares his stuff with anyone.” Jarius answered.
‘What the hell?’ I tightened my teeth so hard that it felt like they were going to break into pieces. I could feel Khan slowly getting into his angry and aggressive self.
My breathing grew intense and I grabbed onto the couch, trying to suppress Khan’s emotions. I felt my claws pierce into the couch, instantly causing it to tear. Jarius moved back fearfully as he watched Khan slowly dominate my body.
“Tell me more.” I groaned.
“Erm… I looked into Alpha Darius’s family and here is the little information I have gathered. There’s nothing much about him out there, and that is because it is Alpha Darius.”
He stretched another file to me and I suddenly snatched it from him, causing him to flinch.
“Get out!” I ordered, and instantly, I sprang to his feet and ran out of the office.
With my intense breathing, I hastily opened the file he had stretched to me and because my hands were shivering as I did, the file tore into two and the paper in it flew out and scattered over the floor.
As I bent over to pick them, my eyes fell on one of the papers which happened to be a picture. I narrowed my gaze at it as I picked it up and stared at the faces on it.
I saw Alpha Darius in the picture, and he held onto a lady, smiling widely. Her face…
“Jessica?” I called in shock, wondering what she was doing in the same picture as Alpha Darius. My gaze fell to the bottom of the picture and saw there was something written. It read;
“Alpha Darius Gomez and his daughter, Celine Gomez.”
I grabbed onto the fall as I weakly sat on the ground. My heart began to beat very fast, thumping against my chest as if it was going to explode.
I went blank for a moment, trying to understand what was going on. I started feeling hot all of a sudden and I angrily yanked one side of my t-shirt, causing its buttons to fly out.
Gathering the papers, I looked for the one with the name Celine Gomez and began to read.
Tears heated the back of my eyes as I felt the intense pain of betrayal.
“She is Darius’ daughter?!” Khan asked in shock, and I gulped hard. I held my head in my hands and tried to stand up. Everything around me seemed to swirl and I could hardly find my balance.
I staggered to my desk and fell on my chair. I shut my eyes, trying to stay calm so I could think, but I couldn’t and Khan wasn’t helping issues either.
“She lied to me?” I muttered, grabbing onto my chest in pain. “She said her parents were dead! She said her name is Jessica!” I yelled in my head.
I could feel the heat emitting from my body. The energy was so strong in me that I wanted to destroy everything. This time, not only Khan wanted destruction. I wanted it too.
While I was trying to stay calm, the door suddenly opened, and when I raised my head, I saw Jessica, standing at the door. She looked perplexed as our gazes locked.
“Alpha…”
“Don’t you dare call my name, Celine!” I roared, my body vibrating in rage uncontrollably.
“Oh no. Kilhan, please. I’m sorry, I…”
“You lied to me! You came into my life to mock me, right?! This was all you and your father’s plan, right?!” I yelled, smacking my desk.
She jolted and broke into tears. “No! No. I swear, you got it all wrong…” She stuttered and continued talking, but I couldn’t hear anything else except for Khan’s voice.
“She betrayed you. Turned you into a fool! She’s the daughter of the man that killed your father! She isn’t innocent and she cannot be your mate!”
I stood up from my chair, my upper body lowered as I felt intense pain in my chest. It was like a spear pierced through my heart.
I hated how I felt, I wanted it to stop. I staggered and slowly fell to the ground. I was in so much pain because I kept trying to resist Khan.
“Kilhan! Alpha Kilhan.” Jessica called, running towards me, but I raised my hand and stopped her.
“Don’t you dare come closer.” At this point, I could hardly recognize my own voice. It was Khan talking. I tried so hard to suppress him so he wouldn’t hurt her, but I was emotionally hurt and had no power over him.
“I, Kilhan, reject you, Celine, as my mate!”
