Chapter 11: The Jock Alpha.
(Haisley’s pov)
“Damn it”
I have been so wrapped up in the problems of my life that I had forgotten I had class. Alpha Kayden, even in his absence, he still torments me.
It was like no
I must try to forget Alpha Kayden otherwise if Alpha Lula sees me hallucinating, it will raise more suspicion. My heart was pounding as I tried to balance my breath.
I dumped the cleaning materials and sprinted to my room, getting changed in less time than ever before sprinting out of the pack house and towards the direction of the school.
It didn’t take long before I arrived at the school: Beacon High.
It was already empty and that meant only one thing. Classes had started. I dashed through the doors, running through the school halls like my life depended on it. The small, yet heavy bag bounced against my side as my heart raced.
Another class might be missed.
My shoes clapped on the roughly plastered floor with each hurried step.
My breath hitched in my throat as I finally got to the doors of my class, but in the process of opening the door, the bell suddenly rang.
“Shit,” I muttered under my bratty as a swarm of students rushed through the door, not wasting even a second to leave the classroom.
“No! The first period is already done, just right when I got here” I whispered. I push past my classmates and straight to Mr Smith.
He was not harsh nor was he kind, he treated everyone according to how they behaved, which I always thought was fair but now that I am late! I don't agree with him.
I stood by his side, unsure of what to say and waiting for a miracle.
“What do you want, Haisley?” he asked, putting his teaching
resources inside his bag as if rushing somewhere. “I came late so I wasn't able to attend lectures or take the test.” Guilt and regret filled my words and were evident in my face.
“Why were you late? You of all people should know how much I hate late coming.” his eyes pierced daggers into my heart. “I am sorry, it will not happen again.”
“It better not. As for your test, you can make up for it in the next test.” With that, he pulled his bag and stormed out of the classroom. I followed him out of the classroom, not wanting to accept what he said.
“Please sir, I can't miss this test, I've studied hard for it,” I said as I stood in front of him hoping for the best. “Than study
Hard for the next test and make sure you come early” he said and walked away.
I stood there in frustration as I watched him walk hurriedly. “Can today be any worse?” I said to myself, taking a deep breath. The morning breeze felt cold on my skin, the sun casting a warm glow in the surroundings. The school hallway was empty, the noisy murmur of students heading to their next classes filled the air.
It was already breakfast time. I must head to the cafeteria cause I am starving, I don't want anything disgusting to be served as food for me. I wish they served burgers and chicken, just the name alone makes me salivate.
I hurried to the cafeteria and straight to Agatha, one of the kitchen staff whom I know to be the nicest. She slides a tray in my direction while raising an eyebrow.
I gave her a warm smile and picked up the tray. It was not what I craved but it was manageable. My stomach growled loudly which was more out of frustration than hunger.
I made my way up the stairs, trying to find a quiet corner away from the noise and where I could eat alone. But as I walked past a table, everything shifted, the tray once heavy now felt weightless in my hands, and before I could picture what was happening, the food splattered on my face and the floor.
“Oops, didn't see anyone there,” a familiar voice said above me, dripping with mockery. I slowly lifted my head to see no other than Erica. Her long shiny black hair framed my face, a smirk appeared on her face on seeing the plastered food on my face.
I felt a slight pain in my stomach due to the force of the fall. “You again,” I thought bitterly
I made soft whimpers, my hand clutched to my stomach as I tried to get on my feet. But before I could, Erica's leg landed on my chest, shoving me back to the floor. My elbow hit the ground and slid as blood flowed freely.
“Stay where you belong, lowly servant.” Another voice said beside Erica, I shifted my gaze to see who it was. I wasn't surprised to see Natalie, the pack slot, cat walking towards me, her arms crossed. “Another bag of trouble,” I said to myself.
All the students in the cafeteria never moved their gaze away from me. They all laughed and enjoyed the action.
“The floor is the best place for slaves like you, Haisley. What were you discussing Mr Smith? Were you trying to seduce him to give you perfect scores?” Natalie's voice was laced with mockery.
“Why ask her, she's trying to seduce Mr. Smith and Alpha Luca, I wonder what they see in you, low-life slave,” Erica added.
I couldn't hold back the frustration and anger that built within. “Because you are a slot, does not mean everyone is too, and Erica, I tilled my head, they see in me what they don't see in you.” I instantly regretted my words knowing they won't let it pass.
I felt a slap on my cheek as Eric walked up to me and squatted beside me, running her fingers through my hair before clinching my hair. “You don't belong here and you never will.”
Her words hit me harder than I thought. Tears stung my eyes but I forced myself not to cry, I will not give them the satisfaction they seek.
Erica's claw dug dip into my scalp as Natalie tore my clothes. I held my body tight trying to keep the remaining dignity I had left but I didn't fight back.
“Let's hear what people will call you when they see you naked” Natalie's cruel voice echoed in my head.
When they were about to tear out my singlet, a loud voice stopped them.
“Let her go."
