Chapter 85: Book Two- Her Alpha Savior- Chapter Thirty-Seven

Chapter Thirty-Seven

Max

As I sit here in class waiting for Josie to come back from the bathroom, I start feel a little uneasy and a little tense. When I hear the last bell ring to let us know that is the late bell for class and I still haven’t seen Josie walk in, I instantly know why I feel uneasy and tense. I get up to leave when the teacher walks in and tries to keep me from leaving the room. All I need to do is give him a growl to remind him who the next Alpha is, and he bows down in respect to me. I wouldn’t have been able to get away with doing that is he wasn’t a werewolf as well, there are very few humans here, so we still need to maintain some sense of normalcy, but that is a story for another time, I need to go find Josie.

When I step out of the classroom and walk down the hall to where I left Josie at her locker, when I get there I can scent her and when I follow her scent to the bathroom, I take a quick look down the hall to make sure nobody is going to catch me walking into the girls room; I notice I am in the clear and step inside and when I notice she is nowhere to be seen, I start to panic and when I catch a faint smell that isn’t Josies I become a lot more tense and I realize she has just been kidnapped and I then realize I need to find here before something bad happens to her.

I walk out of the bathroom and make my way back to the main office to see if the secretary up front noticed anyone leaving with Josie.

“Agnes, have you seen anyone leave with Josie?”

“Oh, Hello Alpha Max, there was a young-looking gentleman that had come to me telling me he was here to pick up his cousin and that she wasn’t feeling well, He walked on through telling me was meeting her at her classroom, and when I saw him come back through, I noticed it was Josie. I didn’t think much of it since he told me he was her cousin and by the way she was slumped over leaning on him I would agree. Is there something wrong Alpha?”

“Yes, Agnes there is. Josie was supposed to be in class with me and when I saw her twenty minutes ago, she was fine. I think something happened and I think the ‘gentleman’ you saw was in no way, shape or form her actual cousin. Call my father and let him know what is going on, I’m going to head out to the parking lot to try and pick up her scent.”

“Right away, Alpha. I’m so sorry, If I had known I would have notified you right away.”

“It’s okay Agnes, you didn’t know. Just notify my father and lock down the school and let him know to lock down the pack borders.”

“Right away Alpha.”

I make my way out to the parking lot and I can see Agnes picking up the phone to call my dad, sometimes a phone call to my dad is a lot easier than using the pack link. Sometimes there is a lot of voices that go on in our heads with the pack link and sometimes we have to filter out what we don’t always want to hear. Or when we block everyone out so we can have a bit of quiet, the phones usually work best.

When I make my way out to the parking lot, I can pick up her scent, but it’s very faint and almost gone, I make my way to the edge of the forest where I smell it the most, but the longer I stand here the more it disappears, I quickly strip from my clothes and shift into my wolf so I can catch up to whoever took my mate.

As I am running through the forest, I catch a scent I don’t recognize and I follow it and when I see what a head of me is about one hundred or yards away I sprint forward and catch up to this person, just when I am about to leap and latch my jaws onto the leg of this person caring Josie over their shoulder, he disappears, like literally disappears…into thin air. I come to halt trying to understand what the hell just happened. Where the hell did, she go?

I mind link my dad to let him know where I am and what just happened.

“Come back to the packhouse son, I think I may know what is going on.”

“I’m on my way dad.”

I make my way back to the packhouse and when I reach the tree line, I quickly shift back to my human form and throw on some shorts hiding in a tree and make my way to his office.

When I get to his office, I see both my parents, my siblings, and our best enforcers along with our best trackers.

“What’s going on dad? Why is there so many enforcers and trackers here?”

“Well son, I think I have an idea on what is going on. You said they just vanished into thin air?”

“Yes, what kind of rogue wolf would have those powers?”

“A rogue wouldn’t have those kinds of powers son. But a witch would. A very powerful witch. We just need to figure out what this witch wants with Josie.”

“Yea, why would they want Josie, she is just a regular she-wolf.”

Right before my dad says anything else, his office door slams open, and we all turn to see who it is and when I see Sarah standing there heaving trying to catch her breath she hold up her hand to signify to give her a minute.

“What is it, Sarah. We are in the middle of something!”

I don’t mean to be short with her and yell at her, but my mate and her best friend is missing, and I need to find her before it’s too late.

“It’s…about…Jo.”

“What about Jo, Sarah!”

“The witch came to me… like a dream but I was…awake.”

“Sarah, please I don’t have the patience for this right now.”

She finally looks like she has her breathing under control. When she looks from me to my dad and then back to me again.

“Max, did Josie tell you everything?”

She raises her eyebrows like she is asking if Jo told me EVERYTHING. I assume so and I know Josie has powers and whatnot and how she doesn’t know how to control them yet and how she was told she needs to learn how to master them. I assume now that is what she is asking me.

“Yes, Sarah, she told me everything.”

“Have you told your parents yet?”

“No, I have not had the chance to tell them, besides, I figured Josie and I would sit down with them and tell them everything, but unfortunately we have not had the chance.”

“Well now I think is the time you tell them. Josie’s safety is at stake and with what the witch told me, they need to know…and now!”

So, with that I turn to my parents and tell them everything Josie told me, and I can tell by the look on my father’s face that he is surprised to know the abilities that she has but then he faces turns to a look of concern and now I have become concerned. My dad is never worried about anything but seeing the look on his face I am now worried as well.
