Chapter Thirty-Five

Before I have a chance to respond to Mila I hear the most soothing voice behind me, and I turn to see Max standing there, his chest heaving up and down like he just ran like his sanity depended on it, which if I think about the way I took off it probably did, he probably thought something happen to me.

“My little mate doesn’t get run off like that again. Do you hear me?”

He steps to me and wraps his arms around me and holds me tight as he breathes me in, and I wrap my arms around him and place my nose to his chest and breathe him in as well.

I then hear purring in my head and release a small giggle at the sound in my head and I can’t help but make a whimpering sound as well.

“What is the giggling about little mate?”

“I’m sorry for running off like that Max, I didn’t mean to worry you, it just freaked me out a bit when you said my eyes were purple. That has never happened to me before. As for something being funny its just Mila is purring in my head.”

“Purring in your head?”

He then looks down at me with confusion until it dawns on him why I would hear PURRING IN MY HEAD.

“Oh Jo! That’s amazing, you have your wolf!”

He lifts me and spins with me in his arms and laughs along with me and I can’t keep the laughter down anymore and I join in with him.

“That is amazing my little Luna. This calls for a celebration. My parents and sisters are going to be so excited.”

“Hold on, Max. I need to tell you something first.”

“What do you need to tell me Josie?”

He has a look of worry on his face, and I place my hand on his chest and give him a reassuring smile to let him know that is it nothing to worry about. So, I proceed to tell him everything. Everything from when I got my wolf as a child and how I was told that I couldn’t tell anyone and how Mila came to me when I was in the hospital and I tell him everything about what I learned about my powers that I have, and how I will need to learn to control them.

He has a look of shock on his face now, but he seems okay with everything that I told him.

“Max, Are you okay?”

He shakes his head like he is trying to regain his composure.

“Yes, Josie, I’m okay.”

Then I feel Mila come to me again.

Josie, can I speak to max for a moment please?

Of course, Mila. But how do I do that?

Just relax your mind and let me take control.

Max looks at me with a raised eyebrow and I can’t hold back the giggle and I tell him that she wants to talk to him.

“I would like to talk to her as well. She is my mate just as you are mine as well.”

I give him a nod and I close my eyes and give my wolf control so she can talk to Max.

Hello Max.

“Hello my little Luna. I am so happy to finally meet you, your eyes are beautiful.”

Thank you, Max, I must tell you that when the time is right, we will come into a strong power, and we must prepare Josie. She will need to shift in one week’s time to harness this power. You must help her prepare.

“Of course, I would do anything to help you both. You and Josie are my world. I will do anything in my power to get you both through any challenge that life throws our way.”

Mother says we need to prepare and have a clear mind. When we have a clear mind and become one with nature everything will fall into place.

“Okay. May I ask what your name is little Luna?”

My name is Mila.

“A beautiful name for a beautiful wolf. I can’t wait to see your wolf form. It was lovely talking to you Mila, but can I speak with Josie now, I must get her back to school so nobody worries.

Of course, Alpha, thank you for letting me talk to you personally.

“You are very welcome. You can talk to me whenever you like.”

When I come back to the forefront, I see Max smiling at me with a grin that goes from ear to ear and I can feel the pride, and love he has for me shining through his eyes and I reach out for him, and we silently make our way back to school. The silence between us is a comfortable one. It seems nothing needs to be said because we have each other and we both understand each other, and I can feel the tingles on my skin the whole way back.

We make It back to school and I can feel all the looks and whispers directed my way after my meltdown earlier, but I continue my way through school with my head held high I make my way to my first class with Max right by my side.

After school is finished Max and I make our way back to the Packhouse and when we arrive, I make my way to the kitchen for a snack and the and back to my room with Max hot on my heels and he has me in his arms before my door is fully closed.

He kisses up and down my neck and I feel the tingles running through my body and makes me feel things I have never felt before, he turns me around to face him and he places kisses on my lips and moves back to my neck and plants a kiss right where my mark will sit, and I am having a hard time controlling myself right now. But I we need to take our time and take things slow. I gently push back on Max’s chest to show him I need a break.
