Chapter 54 EZEKIEL
EZEKIEL
“Calm down Kiel, I'm sure she's fine.” I did not even know that Lena followed me. I try to calm down, but I can't. Why isn't she picking the call? Has something bad happened to her?
I decide to go to her room, even though I don't think she will be there but I decide to check. To my surprise when I get to her room, she's still on the bed, lying in the same position I left her.
What the fuck!
Dalia is not someone that sleeps so long. She always wakes up early even if she has nothing to do. So this is strange. I moved to the bed and tapped but she didn't move.
“Dalia, Dalia…” I call as I tap her, but she still didn't bulge. My heart beat increased. I think I can even hear the sound. Fear consumed me. I try to wake her up again but nothing happened. She lies still there, not moving, but she looks fine. She's breathing and her completion is fine. So why the fuck is she not waking up?
“What's going on with her?” I ask Lena. Fear is clear in my voice.
I'm not someone that gets scared easily but with Dalia is easy. I'm so scared to lose her. And in a moment like this, I can't help the fear in me. She was fine last night. Nothing was happening to her. Why is she like this now? The last time she was like this was when she fought with the witch and she nearly got trapped in the witch's mind. What could have happened this time? Did something happen to her when I left her? Now I regret ever leaving her side. I should have fuck the meeting and the paperwork.
“Let me check her,” Lena says as she checks her vitals. She opens her eyes and also checks them. I don't know what she's doing, but I just let her.
“She's fine. Her vitals are okay and she's breathing fine,” she says after checking her.
“She's not fine, Lena. Something happened to her. Remember this was how she was when she fought with the witch.”
Did she try to enter someone's mind and got trapped there? What if she doesn't find her way out and remains this way forever?
No, that will never happen. I should stop thinking negatively. She didn't enter anyone's mind. I mean…. Why will she do so though. She entered the witch's mind because she was trying to find an answer. And for Sarah she doesn't have to enter anyone's mind to find an answer on how to get her back to her normal state because she told me last night that she has found a solution.
“And she woke up. Didn't she?” She cuts in. “She's fine, Kiel and she will definitely wake up. No one could have sneak into her room to harm her. This pack house is heavily guarded. Also, Dalia is strong. She's capable of taking care of herself. And I don't think she fought with anyone. There's no sign of struggle. I also don't think she entered someone's mind and got trapped there because she's yet to figure out how to do that.”
She's right, but that still doesn't ease the fear in me. I don't know what's happened to Dalia and I won't calm down until she opens her eyes.
…..
And just like that, Dalia remained unconscious throughout that day. I didn't leave her side. Lena assured me that she will be fine. Maybe something happened and she got lost in her unconsciousness. I didn't even meet with the psychiatrist.
Nikolai told me that the doctor says he will try his best with Sarah and Samara, but we will have to give him time because it will take time. Well, we expected it. That's why I told Owen to look for a book that has the prophecy. I don't think we have time to wait for Sarah.
It's in the middle of the night and I can't sleep. I don't know how to fall asleep when Dalia is like this. I'm lying in the bed with her in my arms but sleep is not coming. Her scent is calming but the fact that I know she could be in danger is making it hard to relax and let her scent soothe me to sleep. My eyes are close but I can't sleep
“Ezekiel…” I heard my name. It sounds like Dalia's voice. Maybe I'm hearing things now. Things that I want to hear.
“Ezekiel….” The voice calls again. This time it sounds so real. I open my eyes to find Dalia staring at me. Her green eyes looked dim in the slightly dark room. I blink my eyes and have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming.
She's awake, right? This is not one of those moments I fantasized over the hours she has been unconscious, right?
“Ezekiel…” she calls with her sweet voice as she touches my cheeks, bringing me back to reality. I blink my eyes and stare at her. It's real… she's awake.
“Dalia…” I murmur as I pull her to my chest and hug her tight. Fuck! I was so scared. This shows that I can't live without her. If anything happens to her, I don't think I will live.
“What the fuck happened to you. I was so fucking scared,” I say as I pull her head up to stare at me. She has a smile on her face. It has just been a few hours and I already miss her smile. I want to see this beautiful smile every moment. I will definitely not live without it.
“I found the solution to our problem,” she says with a bright smile.
“Huh?” I'm confused. I know the problem she's talking about but how did she find the solution?
“Sarah… I can bring Sarah and Samara back to their normal mental state,” she replies with confidence.
“What!” I exclaim in surprise. “How are you going to do that? I hope it doesn't involve you risking your life.”
She doesn't say anything and no one has to tell me that it involves her risking her life. Well, whatever the solution is, we are not taking it. She means more than the fucking war to me.
