Chapter 30: Alpha Daniel
Millys pov
I spent the next week between Joe’s place and Levi’s. Honestly, Joleen is driving me crazy, always making me hear about her own pregnancies and what I can and can’t do anymore like I don’t know how to take care of myself all of a sudden just because I’m having babies.
“You want to eat everything and hate yourself tomorrow, Milly?” I stared at him with the spoon of ice cream in my mouth when I walked in with two bags filled with stuff. Joleen would yell at me for eating. Thank God for Levi!
“Levi, I love you, and let’s get married!” I grabbed the bag he held out at me like I was a wild animal that he was feeding with a stick; that’s what I felt like these days.
He just snorted and jumped onto the sofa next to me. Surprisingly, he was living alone and had a kind of nice place. I didn’t want to be judgemental, believing the stereotypes, so I kept my mouth shut, but it was nice. He even has a king-size bed that he lets me sleep in. I wasn’t comfortable with him being on the other side, but he never cared, and I guess that was because, you know… he liked men… I still didn’t understand how Joe tried to marry me off to a gay guy.
“You wish. I know you want me, Milly, but let’s try to keep those hormones in check, okay, momma?” he pats my belly, and I giggle; I really like Levi, even more now that I know him even more. I’m just sad that he can’t tell Joe.
“Oh, and btw… a really hot guy, like a really hot…dark brooding guy, dark tattoos and gorgeous blue eyes came looking for you at the store today, said he was your boyfriend. What’s up with that?” Levi turns at me with his head leaning on his hand and gives me this smirk mixed with worry when I go stiff, freak, so Ben is looking for me.
“Shit…...” I put the bag of chips away and sight with my hands on my belly, it's huge, like im about to pop at any time, but I guess that's just me having three babies at the same time. I haven’t seen a doctor, and I’m too scared that they will tell me that something is different with them and take them away from me.
“Yeah, and he looked like he wanted to kill me, like he knew I was lying when I said I haven’t seen you like his eyes got darker….” I feel even worse when he says that because I know what that means. He has his beast out and probably followed Levi over.
“Help me up, now.” Levi looks weird at me, but then he does what I ask, and when I´m on my feet, I shuffle slowly over to the main door and open it.
“I know you are here, Benjamin. Just get inside and stop acting like a stalker.” My voice is calm, but I can feel myself shaking the slightest. The pure feeling of seeing him stepping out from the wall and looking at me like he is shocked and impressed simultaneously makes me shiver down my spine. When his eyes meet mine, my body feels like it’s going into shock from finally having him around me again.
He walks up the stairs to Levi’s apartment and past me, doesn’t even say hi, that cold bastard, and I feel the tingles going down my arm when he brushes past me, and I swear he did that on purpose.
He walks up to the sofa where Levi is sitting and jumps up like a damn coward seeing Ben coming up at him, looking all mean and beast out in his eyes, swirling at the guy that has let me crash his place.
“You have no idea how much I want to kill you, and if It weren’t for the fact that I know Milly would never forgive me, I would.” Ben's dark voice is deep and raw from the beast, and I see from what he is telling Levi that it looks like he is about to pass out from Ben's towering over him, being huge compared to a human man.
“No, I wouldn’t, so sit your ass down before I throw you out again.” Both men turn around and stare at me, frowning with my arms crossed over my chest. Ben stares at my boobs; they are bigger, they really are, and I’m not wearing a bra because I've just been lazing around all day like I always do since I came here.
“He really is your boyfriend, isn’t he? I thought you were talking about some loser you met working at the bar, not someone…. like him….” Levi raises his eyebrows and gives Ben a longing look like he is jealous; I bet he is.
“We did meet at the bar, now Levi, I know this is your place, but please, can I talk to Benjamin alone?” I don’t have to ask. He gives Ben one last look of amusement and desire before going for the door. Still, he stops and kisses my cheek fast, making Ben's knuckles go even more white than before, burning a hole in Levi’s back with his dark eyes.
“You be careful now, Milli Vanilli; I don’t like how he looks at you like he owns you.” Levi looks back at Ben, smirking at him, hearing every word when I sight and pat him on the back, telling him that I’m fine and that he can go.
Ben chuckles when the door closes, and I hate that I feel my thighs getting warmer; even now, when I’m super pregnant, I still want to do him again.
“Milli Vanilli, do you even know who those guys are?” I frown at him more, making his laugh deeper and my heat worse, shit.
He seemed more relaxed now when Levi was gone, but I wasn’t. I still didn’t know if I wanted him to be in the babies' lives and mine just because of some stupid mate bond that he or I asked for, he was a beast, and I didn’t belong in his world.
“Why are you here, Benjamin?” I didn’t want to play games or drag it out, I wasn’t like that, and he didn’t seem like the type.
“Well, that’s easy.” He walked up to me the last steps, closing the distance between us, and I lifted my head, looking up into his pure blue eyes, longing for me. My breath got caught in my throat when he continued.
“I want to mark you, Milly.” He caught me when to a step, feeling like I was dizzy from his words. What? … what?! I must have seemed dazed because he was worried, holding onto me, making the tingles I felt like a current run through my body; just what had he just said to me?!
“Why?” I know I was pushing my luck, but I was never the girl to keep quiet when I wanted to know something. People usually didn’t get that side of me because I didn’t let them in.
“For one, you are my mate, and two, those are my pups you have inside of you.” His hand touched my belly, and I gasped when I felt a small moment like I hadn’t before made his eyes widen a bit in shock, not expecting to feel anything alive inside of me.
“Holy fuck, did you see that, Milly? They felt me. They know me, know that I am their father, that I am a beast just like them!” I just raised my eyebrows. He sure was reading in a lot from moments I read was just a normal thing.
“They aren’t even born yet, Ben; they don’t know you. How could they? You have been avoiding me since we first met, and you got me pregnant.” He smirked at my words like it was funny, but it wasn’t.
“Trust me, they know it’s a beast thing.” He sounded so sure. I thought it sounded like bull but then again. What did I know?
“So, you want me because you lost your first mate, and I’m knocked up by you. Did I miss anything? “He looked surprised, like that was good enough for me to let him mark me; it wasn’t anymore.
He growled, frustrated that I was stubborn. He had no idea.
“No, that is not only why I want you, Milly, Jesus Christ! Why are you fighting me?!” he was ruffling his hand through that dark, almost black hair making me stare at him like a starved animal seeing those tattoos that I knew exactly where they went underneath that old shirt.
“Yeah, I am, so give me a reason, old man, or else I’m going to go bye on your ass.” He stops and starts to laugh, like real hearty laughter that makes my chest sing from hearing it, and the babies move again. Fudge, maybe it was a beast thing.
“Old? Just how old do you think I am?” he was still smiling, making my heartbeat faster when I shrugged. I didn’t know. He could be anything from 20 to 50…. I just hoped he wasn’t that old; even If he looked young, that would be …creepy.
“Old enough.” I just stared at his mysterious eyes. They were deeper than he looked, older, and scarier than other guys his age. I’ve seen too many men to not see the difference.
“I’m thirty-five, Milly.” He just answered y question, and I gasped at his answer. No way, no freaking way. He looked like a younger, nowhere near a person over thirty.
“No way…” I just looked at him, head to toe, over and over, and I didn’t get it. He looked younger, like 20, 25 tops.
“Yes way…. told you, I’m not human….” He smirked again when I just gawked at him. No freaking way was I ever going to be able to compete with that. When I was thirty, I was going to look like it.
“Our babies… are they going to age slower too? I got scared. What if I died when they were young because I was a human, and my lifespan was much shorter.
“I guess so. I am one … but I don’t know, Milly, I don’t know…” he seemed sad, like he was getting my thought before I even told them.
“That means that you will live longer than me, and when I age, you are not going to, am I right? He just nodded like I was right, great…
“Yeah, well, not that much longer. You are younger them me, but wolves usually live longer than humans, but we have different bodies, we don’t get sick as you do, and we heal quicker. Oh, and you should see Allison, and she heals in two seconds; she can’t die, basically.
My jealousy spiked, and I frowned at his eager talking about another girl that existed. Wasn’t it enough that I had to deal with Candi, his dead mate?
“Who is Allison?” I said it seriously, and he stopped like he didn’t even see that I was angry at him again.
“Who is Levi?” I got that dangerous glint again when I started to smirk, so he was jealous too. How interesting.
“Can I please sit down before my back break carrying your children?” he snapped out his jealousy and to his big hand on my back, supporting me, making my breath hitched again from being so close to him as I had never been away from him.
“You tell me anything you need, Milly, and I will get it for you, don’t ever think that I won’t do everything for you and the pups.” He lifts me up carefully and holds me in his arms. I expect him to put me down at some point, but he stands there, and I lift my eyebrows at his face titled down against me, looking like he is happy for the first time in forever.
“Ben…. you can put me down on the sofa….” I glance at Levi’s green sofa when his smile gets bigger, and I know he has no intention of putting me down by now.
He shifts my weight and starts walking, not to the sofa, but to the door. When I frown at his behavior, I know exactly what he has in mind. No way that he was going to freaking kidnap me?!
“You better not freaking kidnap me, Benjamin, or I am going to call the cops on you and your whole damn strange village!” he stops this time, and we lock eyes; I’m freaking serious. I will not be swept away just because my body is screaming from him touching me.
“I’m not kidnapping you; I want to take you to my pack because you are far from having these pups. Milly and I don’t fucking trust human doctors to understand anything about them or you.” He says that calmly like I’m not starting to freak out. What the hell did he tell me!
“What do you mean that I’m not far away?!” my eyes dilate in fear, I hope he is lying, but from the look of his face, he isn’t, oh fudge!
“Just as I said, Milly, you are not far from giving birth. I mean, look at you, sweetheart; you are huge. I’m not trying to be rude because I still think you are sexy. Still, I’m not leaving you to have your contractions starting here with that guy that isn’t me.” he starts to walk again, and this time I let him. I really don’t want to be in the village….but I guess he is right……..I don’t have human babies and want a doctor who understands what’s happening to me.
