Chapter 86 Eiden

Chapter 86 Eiden
Eiden's POV

“I didn't sleep well last night. I woke up a few times.” Celeste smiled shyly as she looked down at her feet.

She was so cute when she was excited.

“I hope my wolf doesn't need my energy.” Celeste chuckled as she tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

The graceful gesture she accidentally made in front of me sent my heart into overdrive.

“Hey, don’t say that.” I shook my head. “You’re making me afraid my wolf could seriously hurt yours.”

“I already told you we don’t care about that. My wolf is ready to get hurt during training with yours,” Celeste said.

“We know every training session brings injuries.” Celeste smiled as Levi handed her a white rose.

“No wolf uses half their strength in a fight.” Celeste looked at the white rose in her hand.

Her smile was more beautiful than the flower.

‘You should tell her what you think.’ My wolf taunted me, knowing that for now I couldn’t tell Celeste how I felt about her.

“Yeah, you’re right.” I nodded, stretching my arms overhead, my bones cracking softly. “Still, we’re worried your wolf might get badly injured.”

Celeste put her hands on her hips, her lips pursed.

I blinked twice. This was the first time she had shown that other side. I wanted to take a picture of her and look at it whenever I missed her.

“Please don’t regret agreeing to train my wolf,” Celeste said in a pouty tone, completely at odds with her body language. “And we really hope your wolf won’t hold back.”

"That's a rather difficult request for my wolf to fulfill," I said.

"He's never fought a female wolf other than Beta Serena and Gamma Sophia." I tried to say it in a tone that wouldn't offend Celeste or her wolf.

Even though Beta Serena and Gamma Sophia are women, they are leaders whose strength is almost equal to mine.

“Don’t worry.” Celeste waved her hand. “Trust us.”

I raised an eyebrow when I caught Celeste staring at me with puppy eyes, trying to hide the way my body froze as my heart skipped a beat.

Why is she acting so cute to get my wolf and me to listen to her?

"My wolf would rather fight your wolf using all his strength. She wants to gauge her abilities since the people from that werewolf-hating organization are all men."

Celeste clenched her fists and glanced briefly at Liam, who was watching us.

Celeste fully supported her wolf training with my wolf, risking their lives. Of course, Arlo and I wouldn't let them get seriously injured.

'What do you think, Arlo?' I asked my wolf.

'Yeah, I have no choice but to agree with her.' My wolf shrugged. 'I’ll try my best not to scratch and bite her brutally.'

I let out a harsh sigh. My fingers ran through my hair, my eyes closed. When I opened them, Celeste was anxiously awaiting my answer.

I wanted so badly to kiss her cheek. My eyes widened, and I looked away. Damn thoughts.

“Okay. My wolf won’t hold back.” I forced my eyes to meet Celeste’s. “Don’t cry if you’re seriously injured.”

“I won’t.” Celeste pursed her lips again and raised her chin. A cocky gesture that didn’t irritate me.

“My wolf has been preparing to fight yours for a week.” Celeste smiled proudly.

“That’s good. I like her enthusiasm,” I commented. I checked my watch. “Okay. Come on, let’s start training.”

Celeste and I switched bodies with our wolves.

The backyard was spacious enough for a fight. My wolf's massive body didn't feel cramped.

We just had to watch our step to avoid falling into the pool.

Liam and Levi were waiting for us in the garden. They didn't ask questions when Celeste and I talked about training, although it was clear they were very curious.

"Alpha Arlo." Liam and Levi ran to my wolf. They hugged him fearlessly and laughed happily when he licked their cheeks.

"Alea." Liam and Levi were surprised to see the gray-white wolf step out of the sliding door. They hugged her tightly, refusing to let go.

My wolf and I were stunned. We were at a loss for words and forgot how to blink.

Celeste's wolf was enormous. She was the same size as Beta Serena's wolf. She looked majestic and charismatic.

I saw her figure through my wolf's eyes. However, I was certain from what I felt that Celeste's wolf was unlike the civilian female wolves.

Was Celeste a warrior? No amount of daily training or excessive eating could make a wolf grow bigger.

A wolf’s size was determined by status.

“Hi, I’m Alea. Nice to meet you, Alpha Arlo.” Alea introduced herself to Arlo.

Arlo’s heart was beating so hard it felt like it was going to explode.

I rolled my eyes, but then I touched my chest and bowed my head because Celeste and Alea were our ex-mates.

They were actually created for us by the Moon Goddess.

“Are you going to fight?” Liam asked my wolf and Celeste’s wolf.

“Yes, my dear.” Alea nodded.

"Why are you fighting? Are you enemies?" Levi looked at his mother's wolf worriedly.

“No. We’re friends.” Alea punched my wolf lightly in the arm. “We’re just training. I want to get stronger.” She chuckled.

I could tell that Celeste’s wolf cared deeply for both of her children.

“Don’t hurt each other. I don’t want to see you bleed,” Liam said something that touched our hearts.

“I’m afraid we can’t fight without hurting each other,” Alea gently explained to Liam. “But don’t worry. We’re not going to die.”

“Why do you say that?” Liam pursed his lips, his hands clutching the hem of his shirt. “I’m seriously worried about you two.”

“I’m just being honest,” Alea said.

"Liam, don't worry." My wolf placed a hand on Liam's shoulder. "We won't fight brutally."

Arlo's words were enough to calm Liam.

The training began with no winner in mind. They would only follow the allotted time and were required to surrender once they could no longer fight.

I sat cross-legged with my arms folded across my chest. A wave of heat and cold enveloped me. Adrenaline surged through my wolf's body.

I didn't need to worry because my wolf wouldn't lose control. He was excited to fight Alea, but nervous too.

My wolf fell in love with Celeste's wolf. Unfortunately, wolves can't bond with wolves that aren't their mates.

I smiled as I heard Liam and Levi alternately cheer on my wolf and their mother's wolf. Either they wanted to be fair, or they couldn't choose.

Celeste's wolf was strong, and her body regenerated quickly. She didn't tire easily, and her wounds healed within seconds. Several times, my wolf sensed an intimidating aura from her.

I remembered the messages from that unknown number and the fact that Celeste could contact the rogue assassin group. Was Celeste not the person I knew her to be?

“A dangerous woman,” I muttered. “Her wolf is strong. Has a lot of energy.” My brow furrowed deeply. “Should I believe those messages from an unknown number?”

No. I already trusted Celeste.

Come to think of it, many female wolves are large, even if they aren’t leaders and warriors. I shouldn’t be suspicious of Celeste and her wolf.

However, it seemed like I would still be surprised one day when I found out who they really were and why Alea was training with Arlo.
