Chapter 8 Chapter 8
(Alpha Andrew's POV)
The taxi tires screeched to a halt, and I flung open my side door and got out.
Steven then settled the fare as I strode off to my exclusive yacht, which waited at the dock to take us to the Dark Mountain Pack. It was a sleek black yacht with a modern and captivating interior.
The Dark Mountain Pack logo was engraved on top of the yacht, symbolizing its departure and destination.
Some of my pack members at the dock welcomed me as they greeted, "Welcome, Alpha Andrew."
The humans lurking around and waiting for their fishing boat to arrive were unconcerned and unaware of my pack people.
I allowed them to travel, but my pack warriors monitored them upon their return and warned them against revealing anything about my pack.
My pack banished anyone caught. This prevented betrayals of our pack and the entire werewolf community.
As I hopped on my yacht, which featured a roaring wolf symbol on the flag that gazed at the sky and howled to the moon goddess for her immersed protection.
"Welcome, Alpha," the captain of the yacht welcomed me as I moved to the prow cabin. Even though we had arrived at the city for business, I was wealthy, so I sailed on a private yacht and flew on private choppers or jets if I did not want to ride in a boat.
"Thank you," I replied dismissively, entering my room and waiting for my men to board my yacht.
Once they settled everything and ensured that our cargos were complete, we sailed off.
Steven and Carlos arrived with the rest of the five able warriors, who joined me in the privacy of my yacht as the captain set sail back to the Dark Mountain Pack.
As I plopped on the soft couch, my mind raced with memories of that beautiful woman.
"She is a human!" Zion snarled at me, wanting me to abort such unwelcome thoughts.
The soft feel of her body made me aroused, and it was carved in my memory.
My body warmed up with sinful desire to claim her again.
Why was it hard to forget her? It had been past five hours, and this had not happened to me before.
Now, my body was in rut because of that human, a woman, too.
"Alpha, are you sure that you're all right? Since you mated with that slender woman at the hotel, you have been sweating and suppressing us with your Alpha pheromones. You need to keep your desire in check. No woman on board to please you," Steven reminded me. His loud voice sliced through my desire and made me pissed off.
Indeed, it was enough to ward off my desire, as I knew that I did not allow pack members to travel with me. Only my warriors and trusted men were allowed to accompany me.
"Did Alpha Andrew truly mate with that human woman? I find it hard to believe that she did not die or faint?" one of my men commented. The rest of their eyes widened and popped out of their sockets in shock as they stared at me with disbelief etched on their faces.
"Fụck off, all of you, and find something to distract yourselves. Next time, you all will sail on the ship with the goods and not disturb my peace!" I growled at them, and they bowed and exited the private room.
"Forgive us, Alpha," they apologized before giving me some solitude.
"Damn it!" I cursed my desire. I knew that I had banned our pack's women from sailing with me or riding in my exclusive yacht. They were so lustful and craved the Luna's position.
Previously, Zoey Leonard had begged to accompany me. She even stayed over at my father's house, helping my mother as my younger sister, Judith, was married with twin pups, a boy and a girl.
"Alpha Andrew, I promise not to disturb you in your yacht. I want to travel with you to see the humans' city even if it is once. Please," Zoey begged, clasping her hands in a pleading manner before me. Her enchanting yellow eyes held me captive and tempted me to take her along. But I refused. My response was cold and detached.
"No!" I declared, turning away from her.
"My wolf would not accept anyone who is not my mate to get close to me. So stay back," I responded flatly as I avoided meeting Zoey's gaze. She was beautiful, a twenty-two-year-old mateless woman, but Zion had refused the company of any women. He strangled anyone who tried to seduce me unless I insisted. But I did not want Zoey. I just did not like her and felt she had a hidden intention.
I did not know why, but I did not trust Zoey. She was my father's beta's only daughter. She was not related to Steven, but he respected her and handed over my gifts to her.
Zoey did not have a real mate. She believed she was destined for me. And our families wanted us to marry and believed we were a perfect match.
Zoey was also strong and a picture-perfect Luna who would take care of my pack members in my absence. So did my parents and everyone think.
But why did I not trust Zoey Leonard?
I did use to think we would be a powerful couple, but since I found Zion at fourteen, everything changed. His choices were not mine. His desires were not mine. But we found a way to agree with each other since I had to be with him. He was my wolf, my strength, and I was hopeful that I would find my mate, my true Luna. But that woman from the hotel was just a fling and could not be my Luna.
My heart ached, making Zion and me restless. But I brushed off the ache as the boat sailed across the ocean and took us back to the Dark Mountain Pack.
The high mountains came into view from afar. The dark trees and woods surrounded them like guards.
As the yacht sailed across the sea, I stripped off my shoes and rested on the soft white bed in the private room.
My eyes closed as I succumbed to sleep and continued with the rest of my nap on the bed.
I slept until we arrived at the Dark Mountain Pack. The yacht sailed to port and stopped.
