Chapter 24 Chapter 24
MARTHA:
"Hello, Mom? What do you want?" I asked her coldly, knowing that my dad was the one who had advised me to call her Mom—not knowing that she was a secret killer.
"Martha, where the hell did you go today? Do you want me to report to your uncles that you are now wandering about the city and doing secret hookups at night since the death of your father?" Sandra asked, sounding like a concerned mother. My uncles would be touched, thinking that she cared, not knowing that she was rejoicing that I hadn’t returned home.
"Not like you care about me. I will be home, but not today. I have some things to take care of," I replied firmly, my thumb reaching to end the call, and Sandra yelled.
"Martha, I want you to come home today. You have to check your wedding dress and get prepared for your wedding with Mark!" she pointed out, and I laughed.
"I am not getting married to Mark. Let Elena try on the wedding dress. After all, she has been trying on Mark's dîck. I am sure she can fit in the bridal dress too," I retorted, my tone chilling at the recollection of Mark and Elena's betrayal.
I already knew that Elena didn't like me. She didn't try to hide it, so Sandra should cut the pretense.
"Martha, I will report you to your father's brothers today so that they will be aware of your stupidity!" Sandra yelled and ended the call on me before I could even click the end button.
I knew my dad's two younger brothers didn't fight for his company because they were rich. They didn't like to poke their noses into my father's affairs, as they had their own family troubles to handle.
My train of thought was interrupted by gentle knocking on my door.
"Come in," I replied calmly, and my eyes widened to see that it was Dr. Tina. She wore a blue dress and black shoes, and she was holding a white plastic bag in her right hand while a black handbag was slung over her left shoulder.
"Good morning, Doctor," I greeted her with a warm smile. She was a young lady too, but she stood taller than me and had a slightly fuller figure.
"Morning, Martha. I was already coming over before Jasper called me and asked me to bring some clothes for you. How do you feel?" Dr. Tina asked me softly, and I smiled, accepting the bag from her hand.
"I am much better. Thank you, Doctor," I replied with a smile.
"It's my pleasure to help you. I will leave you to have your bath now," Dr. Tina said as she made her way to the door. Once she left the room, I sighed and peered into the white plastic bag.
I knew that Dr. Tina harbored feelings for Mr. Weston from the way she looked at him with deep longing in her eyes. I wondered why Mr. Weston couldn't see her affection for him, yet his whole attention was on me, a human.
Shaking my head, I knew that all lovers are blind and cannot see who truly loves them. Their affection lies with selfishness, and they choose to love whomever their heart craves.
Sighing, I thought werewolves were different. I thought they had distinct features that bind them as mates—the mate bond, the addictive scent and feelings. Why couldn't Mr. Weston fall for a fellow werewolf like himself?
Sighing, I moved into the bathroom to bathe as I tried not to think about my boss's feelings for me.
It was one-sided, and I was glad that he wasn't pressing me to love him. That would have been scary because I don't love him. I honestly didn't love him before. I only respected that he was a decent man and not the type of boss who lusts after his staff. Who would have thought that he was crushing on me?
I quickly borrowed the sponge and soap that I found in the bathroom, undressed, and bathed quickly.
The bathroom had a full-length mirror, so I stared at my slim reflection. I decided to try to eat more food to add some flesh to my skinny frame.
After my bath, I got out of the hot shower and soaked all the soiled clothes and underwear.
I wrapped a white towel around my chest, drying my long blonde hair as I made my way back to the room.
I rushed to take off the messed-up bedsheets and soaked them alongside my clothes to hand-wash all of them.
After I was done soaking the clothes and the bedsheets, I went to clean the bed. Thankfully, it had a nylon cover to prevent the stain from soaking into the mattress.
Relieved, I went to pick out the brown dress that Dr. Tina had brought for me. After I wore it, I noticed it fit snugly—and thankfully, she had brought me a tight to wear too.
After wearing the underwear, I moved to stand in front of the room mirror before hearing another knock on the door.
"Come in," I replied softly, and the door swung open.
Mr. Weston stepped in, dressed in a blue shirt and black pants paired with black shoes. His lips curled up in a handsome smile as he looked over at me.
"Martha, you are looking better today," he complimented me as I watched the door open again and Dr. Tina stepped into the room too.
"Thank you, Sir," I replied, lowering my head in gratitude, and I thanked Dr. Tina as well.
"Thank you, Doctor Tina. I will return the dress," I said.
"It's fine, Martha. You keep it. I bought it, but it didn't fit me, so I kept it since then. Since it's your size, you can have it," Dr. Tina replied with a friendly smile on her face, and my eyes met her black ones.
I searched her eyes for any hint of annoyance, to see if her words reached her eyes, and I found nothing malicious in her gaze.
"Alright. I will keep it. Thank you once more," I said, my tone laced with gratitude.
"You're welcome, Martha. How about the medicine? Would you like to take it again? You know you slept with a werewolf. You have to take the medicine today to ensure that it gets rid of the man's sperm," she reminded me, and my mood plummeted.
Of course, I didn't want to have a werewolf baby, but I didn't want to go through that torture of bleeding again.
Seeing my frown, Mr. Weston interjected, "It's fine if she doesn't want to take it."
"Alright. I will get going now. I am tired and I need to go home and rest. Take care, Martha." Dr. Tina turned to leave the room, and I breathed out heavily and replied, "You too, Doctor."
Mr. Weston turned to leave the room with Dr. Tina, but he glanced at me and said, "I will be back."
After they left, I sighed and sat on the room's couch, preparing to go and wash out the dirty clothes that I had soaked.
