Chapter 12 Chapter 12

Chapter 12 Chapter 12
MARTHA'S POV:

Mr. Weston's lips curled up in a smirk as he said, "I am Jasper Weston. Do you need me to do a formal introduction? This is my restaurant, and Martha is my worker. I saw everything, and I am not firing her. Do you want to still proceed to contact the cops? Feel free."

Sandra sneered and said, "Aren't you afraid that I will have your restaurant locked up?"

"Mmm…" Mark frowned and said, "My in-law, let's go. We don't have to confront him."

Mr. Weston's eyes shifted to Mark, and he demanded, "Mark, aren't you engaged to Martha? Why are you carrying her sister in your arms like she is your fiancée? Anyone would think otherwise given how close you both are?"

Mark glared at Jasper, but he didn't reply. He turned around and marched away with Elena in his arms as he took her to the restroom.

"Get back to your work, Martha, and don't let them get under your skin," Mr. Weston said, his voice gentle and making my heart flutter as my cheeks flushed.

"Thank you, sir. I apologize for my rude actions earlier," I said with a bow.

"It's fine. Get to work." Mr. Weston turned and walked away, and I heard some of the other waitresses gossiping on the first floor.

"Why did Mr. Weston defend Martha? Are they dating?"

"First, he pardoned her for coming late to work. He sent Judith to get Martha a new dress, and now he is defending her. If that's not love, what should we call it?"

My cheeks flushed, but I didn't want to dwell on that. Mr. Weston was just nice to me, and I assumed that I owe him for standing up for me against Mark and my evil stepmom.

My heart relaxed as I went to continue with the rest of my work and forgot about the events of the day.

When Mark and Elena stepped out of the restroom and before exiting the restaurant, they glared at me and walked away to meet my stepmother standing outside and waiting for them.

I sighed and smiled at the next patrons, who were two young women.

"I hope you aren't going to bathe us with our food requests?" one of the young women asked, her tone polite and friendly.

"Not at all," I replied with a friendly smile as I waited for them to pick up their orders.

I moved swiftly to serve their requests as I happily continued with my job for the rest of the day and waited until nightfall.

ALPHA ANDREW'S POV:

"Alpha, we have arrived at the port," my Beta gently mindlinked me to wake me from my peaceful slumber.

In my dream, I dreamt that I was entangled in bed with the human. Her citrus scent brought solace to my mind, and Zion even liked her in our dream.

He shape-shifted, and the human girl ran her fingers through my wolf's fur.

"Damn it, that stupid dream. I cannot be smitten by a mere human," Zion growled at me, and I smiled.

"Got it!" I rose from the bed and picked up my black coat as I donned it.

I wore my black shoes that were beside my bed, then I rose to my feet to leave the room.

When I stepped out of the yacht, the sunlight bathed me, and my Delta Commander, Thomas Walker, had arrived with the fleet of black luxury cars to take us back to the pack house.

Thomas was a 27-year-old man. He stood tall and bowed at me. Dressed in black ensembles, he greeted me, "Welcome, Alpha."

"Thank you," I replied before slipping into the black seat of the car.

Thomas acted as my driver and kept tabs on the places that I had in mind to visit.

The rest of my men got into the other cars, while Gamma Carlos had to wait for the cargo to arrive as he worked at the seaport.

"We will get to see you, Alpha," Carlos called out to me as he waved his hands in the air.

"Alright," I replied, gazing out the window as Thomas drove back to the pack house.

"Any issues during my absence?" I asked, knowing that I had gone on a three-day shopping trip to the humans' city.

I brought out my phone and accessed some business files that I had with the other packs.

As Thomas drove along the road that leads to the magnificent pack house, where many of my pack members resided, it was far away from the sea and also protected by towering gates and high fences.

"No, Alpha. The Alpha of the Brown Moon Pack visited us the previous day. He wanted to see you, and he said he wanted a marriage alliance since you haven't found your true mate yet. But your parents opposed, as they want Zoey Leonard to take the Luna's position."

"Alpha Bennett?" I asked, smiling as I recalled my last full moon visit to the Brown Moon Pack.

Alpha Bennett's daughter, Hannah Bennett, had just turned 18. But unfortunately, she hadn't found a real mate. She was young, beautiful, with enchanting yellow eyes and long blonde locks. She could make a perfect Luna, I reasoned, as she has a peaceful vibe. But Zion growled in my head.

"No way. I do not want that young woman. She is not our mate. So no!" Zion growled, making my mood darken.

"Zion, you have to accept a Luna. Whether my mate or not, you do not expect me to remain single for a lifetime?" I asked him, subtly annoyed by his stern refusal to accept a Luna.

"I don't want!" Zion growled. "What if you marry Hannah Bennett and later find your mate? She will feel betrayed."

"Mmm…" I exhaled hotly.

Zion had a point, but it's pointless if I cannot have pups.

"Zion, for how long do I have to wait before the Moon goddess reunites me with our true mate? When do you think we will find her? I have to provide the pack with a Luna, and I must choose one, whether she is my mate or not," I replied coldly, and Zion shut me out.

"It's fine. Keep your gaze focused on the road," I instructed Thomas, noticing my Alpha pheromones had made the atmosphere in the car thicken.

Thomas breathed out heavily, his hands holding onto the steering wheel as he navigated and skillfully drove the black sedan down to the pack house.

Thomas drove past the thick forest, the tall trees framing the road paths. Soon he arrived at the magnificent black gates that led to my pack.

The road cut through different turns leading to other packs, as several other cars drove along the quiet roads. The birds chirped around as Thomas slowed down the car and finally halted, waiting for the guards to unlock the magnificent black gate.

Only members of the Dark Mountain Pack were permitted entry. We did this to avoid humans from sneaking into our pack.

We declined any foreigners from joining our pack school or business.

As the gate swung open, the guards bowed at me, while I nodded.

Thomas then ignited the black sedan and drove off to the pack house, taking me to my father's house.

When the black luxury car arrived at my father's house, Thomas slowed down and waited for the security to pull the gate open before he drove into the residence and parked.

I still lived with my parents even though I could afford a mansion of my own. I owned several houses, but for the meantime, they were lonely without a mate or children.

When the guards swung my car door to unlock it, I got out and spotted a few pack elders standing at the front of the mansion and waiting to welcome me.

"Welcome, Alpha," they greeted me with a bow, as the Dark Mountain Pack was heavily guarded with a mighty fence and also magical stones and gems to protect our community of wolf pack.

"Thank you all," I waved back, and my sister's children rushed up to welcome me. "Uncle Andrew!"
