Chapter 7: 7

Chapter 7

Lucien Alessandro

"Why would you bring me to your house when you knew nothing was going to happen between us?" Olivia snapped once I pulled over at the side of the road. I rolled my eyes.

"This is unlike you. We have never met without doing anything. Did you bring me to your house to make that girl jealous?" She turned to me, her voice dripping with disbelief.

I pulled the safe of my car opened, then picked out a bundle of cash and threw it on his thighs.

"That's your pay. Now, leave." I didn't spare her a glance.

Olivia is like a regular sex partner to me. We have been in this for years, and last night, I had to bring her home with me just so I could be distracted from going to Scarlet and probably doing something I would regret.

And oh... I didn't have sex with her. I didn't feel like it.

"Wait... Do you like her?" She gasped, and this time, I looked at her.

"Don't keep me waiting, Olivia. Leave." I looked straight into her eyes, and she huffed.

"You are weird," she rolled her eyes as she pushed the door open angrily, then stepped out, and slammed the door hard behind her.

I exhaled deeply as I watched her leave.

I pulled my car safe open, reaching for the pack of cigarettes and a lighter lying there. I took out a stick and lit it before putting it in my mouth, taking a long slow drag, my eyes closed in a momentary bliss, the only thing I could think of was Scarlet.

"Scarlet!" Her name escaped my lips in a whisper, accompanied with smoke.

Staying in my house has become a nightmare for me. Living under the same roof with the same woman I have fantasized about these whole years had suddenly become a torture for me. Because I couldn't even think of exploring this crazy obsession I have for her. I couldn't do what I wanted with her. I had no idea how long I would have to pay a bitch to come over to my house just to get me distracted. I didn't know how long I would have to endure this torture, but I was scared. Scared that I won't be able to hold it in for long. Scared that I might end up eating the forbidden fruit, ruining the friendship I had built with Taylor since we were toddlers. I couldn't bring myself to throw away our years of friendship, just for my fantasy. I had never betrayed anyone in my entire life, and I wouldn't want to do it to him either.

My phone pinged with a text, and I hesitated before reaching for it.

'I don't know what game you are playing, but call me when you need me again. I'm always open to your service. I wouldn't mind doing it with you for real though'

I rolled my eyes after reading the text from Olivia, tossing my phone on the seat beside me without replying to her text.

I trashed the cigarette butt once I was done smoking, and my phone started to ring just when I wanted to start the car. I paused and picked up my phone. It was Vladimir. My assistant and right hand man.

"Yes?" I pressed the phone to my ear after I answered the call.

"I called to remind you of your meeting with the senator, boss. It's in an hour," Vlad's voice sounded on the other end. I checked my wristwatch, letting out a sigh upon recalling the meeting.

"Alright," I ended the call and drove off.

I could barely concentrate at the meeting as my mind kept drifting off to Scarlett, crazy scenarios popping up in my head.

As evening approached and it was almost time to go back to the house, I was hesitant but knew I had to eventually return home. The thought of calling Olivia came to my mind, but I quickly dismissed it. Somehow, I didn't want Scarlet to see me as a fuck boy.

Scarlet was already waiting in front of the house for me by the time I drove inside. She had the cutest smile on her face as I walked up to her.

"You are home..." her smile melted my heart, sending warmth all over my body.

I scanned her briefly with my eyes, admiring her. She was wearing a crop top which revealed her flat tummy and her inverted navel. I swallowed a lump as my eyes made their way down to her sexy thin waist, down to her long straight legs. Just how amazing it'll feel to have those long legs wrapped around my waist, while I thrust deep into her like my whole life depended on it. Oh, fuck! My life really depended on it. How long will I be able to survive this until I give in to this demon trying to take over me?

"I made dinner. You should shower and let's eat together," her cute little voice came out shyly. That voice that'd sound really sweet moaning out for me.

'Get it together, Lucien'

I scolded myself.

"Hmm," I only hummed, walking past her inside. If only she knew that I was trying to keep my distance, she wouldn't be so all over me. Poor innocent girl, she must think of me as a guardian, and here I was, thinking of fucking her. I must really be crazy.

"Fuck!" I groaned loudly, throwing myself on the bed the moment I stepped inside my room, staring up at the ceiling. I barely had any strength left in me.

The knock on the door demanded my attention, which had me sprinting up from the bed and heading toward the door to open it. I was welcomed by Scarlett standing at my doorstep, her eyes gazing at me cutely as she blinked them innocently.

"You've been in your room for thirty minutes. Your food is getting cold," she said innocently, and my eyebrows drew apart as I lifted my hand to check the time on my wristwatch.

"Have you eaten?"

She shook her head as she replied to me with "No, I haven't. I was waiting for you,"

"You should go ahead and eat. I don't have an appetite," disappointment and sadness flashed through her eyes when I said that. I was trying to keep my distance. It was already hard living under the same roof.

"You should stop waiting for me henceforth before you eat. I barely eat at home,"

I bet I caught a glimpse of tears in her eyes before she held her head low and nodded slowly as she muttered. "Alright." She turned and walked away without sparing another glance, and I let out a sigh. I didn't mean to be mean to her. I was just trying to avoid doing something stupid. She trusted me like her own dad, so I shouldn't ruin that trust.

I went back into my room and closed the door behind me, raking my hair with my fingers frustratingly like I'd lost it. Maybe I really had lost it...
