Chapter 74: PARALLEL WORLDS
The idea of parallel universes is not a simple metaphor: it is one of the many consequences that follow from cosmological observations. Space seems to have an infinite size. In such a case, everything that is possible will find some place where it becomes real, improbable though it may be. This is due to fairly consolidated physical ideas. If we consider less firm theories, we conclude that other universes may have different laws of physics. The presence of such universes would explain various aspects of our own and could resolve fundamental questions about the nature of time and the intelligibility of the physical world. Is there a copy of you reading this book? A person who is not you but who lives on a planet called Earth, with misty mountains, fertile lands and vast cities, in a solar system with eight other planets? That person's life has been identical to yours in every way, but maybe now he decides to stop reading this book without finishing it, while you continue reading. The idea of such an alter ego may seem strange and implausible, but we may have to get used to it, since astronomical observations support it. The best known of the current cosmological models predicts that you have a twin in a galaxy that lies at a distance of about 10 to 1028 meters from here. That distance is so great that it exceeds the astronomical, but that does not make its double any less real. That estimate follows from notions of elementary probability, and does not even use speculative modern physics, just that the size of space is infinite (or at least large enough) and almost uniformly filled with matter, as indicated by the observations. In an infinite space, even the most improbable events take place somewhere. There are infinitely many inhabited planets, including not just one, but infinitely many, containing people with the same appearance, name and memories as you, and carrying out every possible permutation of the life decisions you have made. More than likely, you will never see your other selves. It is not possible to observe beyond the distance that light has been able to travel during the 14,000 million years since the universe began to expand. The most distant visible objects are now about 4×1026 meters: a distance that defines our observable universe, also called the Hubble volume, horizon volume, or simply our universe. The universes of their other selves are spheres of the same size, centered on their respective planets. This is the most direct example of parallel universes. Each universe is only a small part of a larger "multiverse." If the parallel lines are the ones that never intersect (or, according to what we have learned from Euclid, they intersect at infinity, which in the case amounts to the same thing), the theory of parallel universes is the one that holds that, to refer to reality -the universe-, one can and should speak in the plural, because in fact there are several. A multiverse: that would be the word. Or -with both in capital letters- “Many Worlds”. Based on quantum mechanics [we already know about Erwin Schroedinger's cat (1887-1961), who was alive and dead at the same time], the thesis, which at first might seem absurd, was developed by the American scientist Hugh Everett ( 1930-1982) and finds wide acceptance in his profession. “This hypothesis of the many worlds of physics may seem delusional…, which also makes it exciting. Over time, the Many Worlds interpretation has gained favor and is now considered a quantum physics perspective, although it is unproven (and it is difficult to design experiments that can decide between it and orthodoxy). Let's think for a moment about its fascinating implications. If the Many Worlds hypothesis is accepted, the self we feel would be only one of our versions: the self of a certain quantum branch. And splits of our self continue to be created permanently, since we are continually making observations of one kind or another. The new selves that are created every moment share a common past, but face a different future. Naturally, the subsequent stories in each of the branches will also be different. The two realities coexist simultaneously”. At the bottom of the idea is, of course, another of the fathers of the quantum, Werner Heisenberg (1901-1976), author precisely of the uncertainty principle: "observation changes the observed object." It is my eyes that "do" the thing. It is not possible (beyond Planck's constant) to measure the movement of an object and its position at the same time. It is a version 2.0, in short, of the Averroist (that is, Cordovan) doctrine of the double truth, only now without the separated hemispheres being theology and philosophy. Our mental framework, that of the INTRATERRESTRIALS, is not like that of terrestrial coughs on the surface, it is enough to read the press of any day or even speak with militants (or enthusiastic sympathizers, let's call them that) of parties to confirm that the legislator criminal is wrong and that in effect the universes are no longer two, but many more. I am not referring to the language of professional politicians, to whom nature has endowed them with enough rennet to say one thing today (in government) and exactly the opposite tomorrow (in opposition), without ever revealing the slightest hint of to be pretending: it is the old doctrine of casuismo - things are good or bad according to what I say -, only that expressed in a cruder way. I am thinking more of the addicts of one or the other acronyms -because in effect loyalty is to the acronyms, not to the contents, which, as I said, are flexible- and their explanations, for example, in relation to the management of the matter , difficult where there are- Some are very clear, and they repeat it at the slightest opportunity and without the slightest hesitation, that it is a global and unpredictable epidemic, so that the Government is doing very well and what is to be regretted is disloyalty.. A world of good and bad Between white and black there are no nuances. But if one changes the interlocutor, what he will hear is exactly the same but in reverse. true heroes. And all this explained with absolute conviction and without the slightest loophole for doubt: the same as in the previous case. It goes without saying that these two parallel universes (the physical theory must be considered definitively confirmed in view of what has just been exposed, which anyone in their immediate circle will have been able to verify) need to reinforce themselves and that is why each of the sects dedicate themselves to filling the social networks with their messages and, even more important, to denounce what the other does as something not only false but also the result of hate. A hatred of which, to make matters worse, is preached that it has roots as old as it takes to end up serving the discourse: .As far as we have to go back. The battle of the story -the key word- is generous and swallows what is thrown at it. Those of us who watch the spectacle from the balcony are very surprised, but that's the way it is: in the stomachs of some and others there is room for toad after toad. In short, it goes without saying that the community of scientists also offers the impression of being a real chicken coop, because each one belongs to his father and his mother. Although the time has not yet come for any of them to be humble and acknowledge that “I only know that I know nothing”. Cooking times have their own rhythms, which, as with the mills in the story, rarely show up fast. The paradigm of this way of thinking is constituted by the institution of res judicata, without which the figure of the procedure cannot be understood, whose inquisitorial origins cannot prevent us from recognizing that it represented great progress for civilization: that, if two face , decides a third after hearing them. Everything consists of an argument of pure authority: "Roma locuta, finite cause", whether fair or unfair, in the eyes of each person, whatever Rome has resolved. But we are modest people and we don't mind admitting how limited our scope is. In effect, it is a pious fiction -a hoax, let's call it that-, because the authentic reality is the other: society is intellectually divided into two hemispheres (or more), each one of them self-sufficient and, insofar as hermetic , self-referential. And from that very dual reality (handaxe, if you want, use that word) science participates, increasingly precarious. If there are many truths, how are we going to know who has their perception altered and who doesn't? In the intraterrestrial world that does not happen. Mental systems that, like the one that is characteristic of our trade, respond to the features of what is closed, cannot be reproached for incoherence -it is the attraction of these approaches-, but, in revenge, they demand autism from one about what is going on around him and can listen with his ears and touch with his hands. And that is what happens to us, that, like cloistered monks, we live in a convent: a kind of chronic confinement, only intellectual. What happens (and that is the good part, at least comparatively) is that what is outside the monastery, in what consecrated people call the century, is a cage of crickets and, as José Esteve Pardo explains, the Leviathan , who is supposed to be omniscient, walks confused, because he rests on feet more and more of clay. In the end it will turn out that, after adding and subtracting, ours, despite its apparent modesty -we can only assure you that the fights, with a result that we will like or not but that we have not been able to predict, will end up one day and then, except In extremely rare cases, they cannot be reopened- it ends up being the only minimally reliable thing. The circle of history, which had left us aside in the last century, closes and returns to the starting point, when we were socially considered so much. It will turn out that, although we do not reach the stature of the prophets, we are not the worst in this world of absolute uncertainty. We have our brothers below the earth's crust to help us... When we talk about portals to other worlds or other dimensions, the existence of parallel worlds with which these doors will connect those who pass through them is assumed. And these would not only exist today, since some sites of past civilizations are referred to as gates to other worlds. Although for some agnostics they are fanciful ideas and for others they would be realities that our current knowledge cannot understand. NASA researchers have even written about it. They even mentioned the "Magnetic Portals" and hidden Portals ", where the earth-sun magnetic fields are connected in an uninterrupted path and said that these sites could move between different latitudes of the planet, which would make their location difficult because they are invisible, unstable and evasive and open and close without any predetermination Peru is one of the places where the portals open easily due to the preparation and culture of the Incas and its geographical location. The portals have communication with each other. It is no coincidence that in Egypt there are monuments similar to those of the South American Andean mountain range. In Abydos, an ancient city of Egypt, in its temple of Seti the Earth would be connected with stellar worlds as a natural door, and the evidence would be the engravings similar to ships such as a helicopter, airplane, submarine, UFO and other military technological artifacts very similar to the current ones are also in Karnak, whose interpretation generates great curiosity among experts.
