"Well mom and I and my sister, of course who is the bride decided the wedding theme would be 'A night under the stars'".Lila told her. "That is an excellent choice. Truly remarkable in my opinion." She said before squatting down to open the last compartment of the glass cart.
Pulling it out, Lila gasped. Arranged in the velvet box was an obsidian set surrounded by diamonds. "This is the set I believe goes with your theme best." The store attendant said.
"These are perfect. Took the picture right out of my mind." Lila said. The store attendant removed the bracelet bringing it closer for Lila to inspect. "Wow, they look even better up clo.." Lila said
"The boss requests to see you." A burly man in a suit announced interrupting Lila. Lila turned to look at the man now standing beside her. She looks back at the store attendant, a confused look on her face. "Do you know him?" She asks.
"Miss I think you are mixing things up and getting it all wrong, my boss requests to see you." The man points at Lila. Lila huffed "Who are you and who the fuck your boss? You go around requesting to see people?" Lila asked confused.
"Miss, I am pretty sure you know who I am talking about." The man told her. Lila narrowed her eyes at the man, trying to understand what he was saying. "I do not know your boss, the only man I answer to is my dearest daddy." She said defiantly turning her attention back to the store attendant. He places a firm hand on her shoulder bending down to whisper in her ear, "I would not want us to cause a scene here, Mr. Crane wants to meet with you." Lila tenses, raising her head, staring into an empty space for a second.
The store attendant asks with a concerned look on her face, "Miss, is this man bothering you? I could get security to take care of it."
"No thank you, it's fine." Lila told her, going against causing a scene. She slowly stood up following the man outside, the harsh mid-day sun striking her face. The man leads her to a black SUV parked at the far end of the parking lot. As she gets closer to the car, Victor rolls down the window. She finally stops in front of the rolled down window coming face to face with Victor.
"The queen finally answers." Victor says with a sly grin playing on his face. "What do you want Victor?" She asked venom dripping in her voice.
"You stopped answering my emails, messages or calls and it took me an awfully good effort to find you." Victor said.
"You have been after my life these past few weeks I just needed a breather." Lila replied.
"Have you completed your task?" Victor asked brushing off her excuse.
"I told you that task was nearly impossible, I can't risk turning myself into a family enemy just because of your own selfish ambition." Lila complained.
"Correction, our! our selfish ambition. It was your infatuation with Elliot that got you here, remember that." Victor told her. Lila groaned.
"Is that all? Am I free to go now?" Lila asked already tired. "You have until next weekend to complete my task. Don't make me look for you next time or you might not like the outcome." Victor said.
"Fuck you." Lila said through clenched teeth flipping him the bird.
"My pleasure." Victor chuckled an evil smirk plastered on his face. Lila started walking back to the store, muttering under her breath. Her body wracking with anger. Victor looked out the window, raising his phone. His steel ring glinting in the sun as he typed. Another chuckle leaving his lips as he clicked send. Looking out the window again. Lila's phone vibrated as she walked back to the store, she opened her phone to see a text from Victor.
Victor:
I do not like being ignored.
Attached to the text was a video where Lila had her mouth stuffed with Victor's dick, her face on full display with the drool while Victor's face was obscured. Lila screamed out in frustration after watching the short clip. Earning Victor a smile as his car moved slowly out of the parking lot. Lila caught the attention of others as she continued having a full on meltdown at the entrance of the jewelry store.
Still heaving with little streaks of mascara on her cheek, her eyes watering, she turned to look at them. "What?" She asked. "What are you all looking at. Don't you have a life?!" She screamed at them.
They jumped giving her space, she was acting bizarre and crazy. After a few minutes, she calmed down returning to the store. She went straight to where she was seated, the store attendant patiently waiting.
"Welcome back ma'am, is everything okay?" She asked seeing Lila's frizzled appearance. Lila nodded. "Yes." Opening her purse and pulling out a napkin to wipe her face. "Now back to our discussion." She told the store attendant.
The store attendant nodded bringing out the set again. "How many carats are the diamonds?" Lila asked. "Well we have the twenty carat which is the largest while the rest of the diamonds, ten, twelve and five surround the eighteen carat and also create the drop down for the obsidian." She told her.
"I am definitely taking this. I love it." Lila said.
"That is a great choice." The store attendant said smiling.
"Mom and Clara would love this." She said still looking at the earings. "They definitely would, you know this is not just about jewelry, these stones have a history sourced from very active volcanoes in the far east." The store attendant narrated.
Lila nodded impressed. "I am getting two of the exact same sets for I and my sister. Need to be the most beautiful ones in the crowd." Lila said.
"That is awesome, you and your sister getting married on the same day. I am sure your parents would be over joyed." The store attendant said.
"What? No, no it is just my sister getting married." Lila corrected her, placing her hand on her chest. "Oh okay. Sorry about that." The store attendant said eyeing her weirdly. The look lingered for a few minutes before she returned to her selling smile.
"Right this way." She said leading her to the cashier. Lila followed behind her, "Before we ring this up, we have to discuss ring sizes, wrist sizes and any other personal preferences." The store attendant said.
