Clara looks at Elliot and sighs before heading towards the entrance of the other room. Lila slips out walking towards Elliot and smiling.
"Where are you going Lila?" Clara asked. "You know I thought how lonely Elliot would be here. I have decided to take him to the event decorator to keep him busy." Lila replied. "What about your dress design? How are you going to choose that?" Clara asked clearly not believing what Lila said.
"Oh Clara, is that not why you are my big sister. I trust you and your judgement. Whatever you pick is fine by me as long as we wear the same colour." Lila said smiling. Clara looked on confused. Lila turned to their mother.
"I just thought to help by accompanying Elliot to the event decorator. You know how men are about these things." Lila began. " A woman's touch or input would be needed and since Clara is so busy with dresses and other things I decided to make her load a bit lighter." Lila finished her explanation. "That is so kind of you honey." Clara's mother told Lila.
"Come on Elliot let's go." Lila said offering her hand to Elliot. Elliot took it and she linked their arms together. "We have a lot to get done today." She said as they hopped away. Mostly Lila doing the hopping.
They slipped into the backseat of the car. Lila seemed not to understand what personal space was. She was all over Elliot, touching his cheek, rubbing his chest, her head resting on his shoulders. Elliot shifted multiple times but she continued. Elliot didn't know what to do, he felt suffocated.
About thirty minutes later they pulled up to 'Le Meridien', a fancy restaurant. "Lila, this does not seem like where we ought to be." Elliot said passing Lila a questioning look. Lila blushed and looked away like a child who had done something wrong. Elliot made a move to tap the chauffeur. Lila held back his hand. "Wait don't be angry, I told the chauffeur to bring us here." Lila tried to explain.
"Why would you do that?" Elliot asked. "Like I said we had a long day and I just thought it would not hurt to stop for a little bite." Lila said "We need the energy for today. Plus I thought it would be a great time to get to know my brother-in-law better." She continued pinching his nose affectionately.
Elliot sighed and reluctantly came down from the car. "Aren't you supposed to open the door for me?" Lila whined while running up to him. "Not very gentlemanly of you." She continued giggling.
Elliot sighed again, he knew he was in for a long day.
They entered into the restaurant and were given a table. A waitress wasted no time and approached their table. "Good day sir and ma'am. My name is Michelle and I will be your waitress for today.
What can I get you?" The waitress delivered her usual line. Lila gripped Elliot's hand as she smiled, "We will have whatever is on your special menu today." The waitress nodded writing into her notepad. "And drinks?" She looks up and asks. "The best of your wine please." Lila said. The waitress nodded again and turned to walk away.
"Oh hold on, we would like not to be bothered so we will really appreciate it if we could get the whole menu at once." Lila said with a tight smile. The waitress gave a smile "Sure." and walked away.
Victor looked up from his magazine to take in his surroundings. He could not help his amusement when he spotted Elliot and Lila at the restaurant. "Wow, poor guy. Even his fiancee's sister wants him." He thought to himself. "It is quite sad that he is gay though." He continued thinking. Putting down his magazine he decided to focus on them. The scenario playing out was really funny. He struggled to hold back his laughter.
Elliot was uncomfortable, his back straight and his face nearly expressionless. While Lila kept throwing herself at him.
A trolley arrived filled with food. "Lila, this is way too much food. You said it would be just a 'bite', what the fuck is this?" Elliot complained. "I am sorry Elliot. I just thought a big strong man like you would love to eat a lot." Lila said rubbing his chest an arms. "Alright." Elliot said shrugging off her arms. Lila frowned but she did not give up though.
"I can't believe you are getting married soon." Lila said "I can't believe so too." Elliot replied "Oh and I wanted to apologize for my outburst the last time." Lila said her face darkening. "It is fine, I am sure you did not mean it. I mean emotions run at an all time high during tense moments." Elliot reassured.
"I said I am sorry for my outburst. I did not say that I did not mean everything I said." Lila told him. "I really like you and I believed we would have been better together." Lila continued. "Oh my God Lila, Clara's your sister for crying out loud I can't believe you will say that about her and actually mean it. You are supposed to support her." Elliot said groaning.
"Support her? How? She is always in the limelight. Everyone's favorite. Do you even know that I had a crush on you way before she ever agreed to date you." She said. "She knew and still went along to date you." Lila continued. Her face dropped,
"I mean who would blame you for accepting her on the spot she is everything I am not more beautiful, smarter, famous, talented." She said, a single tear sliding down her cheek. Elliot instinctively raised his hands to wipe her tear. Lila's heart warmed at the contact and she blushed. "Don't say that. You are beautiful, awesome and just as talented in your own way. I am sure any guy would be happy to have you." Elliot tried to reassure her.
"Then why don't you want me?" She continued fake tears sliding down her cheek. "Because I am in love with your sister." Elliot replied. "Just give us a chance." Lila said as she leaned in close to Elliot's face over the table.
Elliot moved back, "Lila, look I only see you as a little sister. I love Clara and I would not appreciate this kind of behavior anymore from you. I just won't tell your sister because I do not want to ruin the bond you guys have." Elliot scolded her. "Please, do not even think of trying this again. Excuse me." Elliot warned as he stood up and left the restaurant.
Victor laughed lightly at the scene before him. Elliot had lost his cool and left. Lila looked like a school child who got her toy taken away from her. Standing up, he started to approach the table. "Trying to steal your sister's fiance. That's not a good sister trait." Victor said standing at Lila's table.
With her arms folded she looked up, "And who are you?" She asked her lips pouting as she was still sulking.
