Chapter 159
Martin shook Mia's blood-covered body, "Mia! Mia!"
Mia had already passed out. Her once delicate face was now covered with countless cuts!
Blood blurred her entire face.
Martin felt for her breath with his hand. It was barely there.
He bent down, his face cold, picked up Mia, and boarded his private jet.
Martin didn't know what had happened or who had hurt Mia like this.
His expression was extremely grim.
Mia woke up at that moment. Seeing Martin, the pain made tears stream down her face. When the tears fell into her wounds, it hurt even more. "Martin, thank you for coming to save me. Tell me, am I going to die soon?"
"No."
Martin reached out to wipe away her tears, clearly moved.
She smiled miserably, looking pitiful, "I'm not afraid of dying, Martin. As long as you're okay, I'll have no regrets."
Martin asked in a hoarse voice, "Don't talk nonsense. Anyone can get hurt, but not you. I won't allow anything to happen to you. Tell me, who did this?"
Tears kept flowing from Mia's eyes. Just as she was about to speak, everything went black, and she passed out again.
The wine glass Martin was holding shattered in his hand. His face turned pale as he said, "Find out who did this!"
Brian also realized how serious this was, "Yes, Mr. Collins."
Half an hour later.
The plane arrived in Emerald City.
Martin took Mia to the hospital.
He called Terry over to personally perform surgery on Mia.
After examining the wounds on Mia's face, even Terry was shocked. He had been attracted to her face and figure. How could she be disfigured now?
What a shame!
Terry shook his head regretfully, promised Martin he would do everything possible to save her, then sent Mia to the operating room.
Martin smoked with a cold expression.
Brian was on the phone at the end of the hallway, looking very concerned.
After finishing the call, he walked up to Martin and carefully said, "Mr. Collins, Kaida reported back that Mrs. Collins hasn't returned to the apartment. Kaida can't reach Mrs. Collins now either!"
Martin's handsome brows grew even colder, furrowing more forcefully. If she hadn't returned to the Gonzalez Villa or his apartment, where would she gone?
Brian wondered aloud, "Mr. Collins, where do you think Mrs. Collins could be? Mrs. Collins doesn't really have any friends."
Victoria's concern was for Hayden!
Martin stubbed out his cigarette and threw it in the trash.
Then he strode toward the elevator with long steps, his face looking as cold as frost.
Brian hurried to follow.
Brian followed Martin out of that hospital, then drove to the hospital where Hayden was.
At the door of the ward, they went in.
Martin saw Aria in a long dress, wiping the back of Hayden's hand of Hayden, who lay in the hospital bed covered in tubes.
Hayden's eyes were closed, still showing no signs of waking up.
Hearing footsteps, Aria looked up. Seeing Martin in his business suit, expressionless, with glasses perched on his nose, a flash of surprise crossed her eyes.
You see, Martin rarely showed up. The last time he appeared was when Hayden had the car accident and needed medical expenses. He had dragged it out for many days before coming to the hospital to check on Hayden.
Since then, he had never appeared again.
Aria had never been satisfied with Martin.
From the first moment she saw him, she didn't like him. She thought he came from a bad background and acted very high and mighty. He might fool Victoria, but he couldn't fool her.
From the very beginning, she had wanted to break them up, but her daughter, Victoria just wouldn't listen. She went on hunger strikes, ran away from home, and made such a fuss.
In the end, even her husband, Hayden, took Victoria's side and helped convince her.
Aria had no choice but to give in. She had once thought maybe she was too sensitive and had misjudged Martin.
Turned out she had been right all along.
The surprise in Aria's eyes lasted only half a second, then she lowered her gaze, gripping the steaming hot towel in her hand, continuing to wipe Hayden's body, and sneered, "How is it that such a busy person as Mr. Collins came to the hospital today? How unusual."
Martin, of course, heard the mockery in her words. If it were any other time, he would have taken issue with it.
But today he came to ask about Victoria's whereabouts.
So he walked toward Aria and asked coldly, "Where did Victoria go?"
Aria thought Victoria was just fighting with him, so she didn't think much of it and continued to jab at him, "How ridiculous. Isn't Victoria your wife? You're asking me where she went? How would I know? Don't tell me you don't even know where she is?"
His face grew even colder, his facial expression tense.
Brian helped explain, "We can't find Mrs. Collins now."
Aria slammed the towel in her hand into the basin, "Then why did she leave?"
Water splashed up.
Martin said nothing.
Aria's tone became somewhat aggressive, "Victoria has been bullied and mistreated by you so much. How could she not leave? Martin, if you were any kind of man at all and treated Victoria even a little bit better, would she fight with you and avoid you? Every time I call her, she tells me you treat her well! You treat her well! But I'm not stupid! You don't treat her well at all. Victoria has been very wronged by you!"
As Aria spoke, tears flowed from her reddened eyes, "My daughter, her father and I never said a harsh word to her! We couldn't bear to let her suffer even a little! But you made her suffer all the hardships she shouldn't have to endure in this lifetime! Now you know to come ask me for her? Where were you before? Martin, we put up with you not because we're weak and helpless, but because we didn't want Victoria caught in the middle, you understand?"
She pointed at Hayden lying in the bed and shouted in a low voice, "After Hayden's accident, how many times have you shown up? You're really not human! Before Hayden got dementia, you were so attentive, making so many promises! You said the Gonzalez family had been good to you, that you would be good to the Gonzalez family! Good to Victoria! After Hayden's accident, after you got the Gonzalez Group, you showed your true colors?"
"Where did Victoria go?" Martin clearly didn't want to hear her lecture.
Because Aria didn't know that Hayden had destroyed his entire family. For Victoria's sake, he hadn't planned to tell her. But that didn't mean she could tell him what to do.
Aria wiped the tears from her cheeks and spoke harshly through gritted teeth, "I don't know where she went! Even if I knew, I wouldn't tell a beast like you! Making you treat her badly! Making you not cherish her!"
Martin left the ward with a cold expression.
Brian followed closely behind, hearing him order, "Bring some bodyguards over here and wait for her to show up!"
"Yes, Mr. Collins."
"Investigate Ms. Wilson's case and find whoever's behind it!"
Martin didn't believe that with Hayden as his trump card, Victoria could stay hidden.
Victoria, if you're so capable, keep hiding and don't show up! Otherwise, we'll settle both old and new scores together!
