Chapter 62 Screw You, Wesley
Molly’s POV
It was hard to read the thoughts of the mischievous little boy at the moment, as he quickly joined me by my side when his father moved to check my leg.
Roger’s body language was ambiguous, shifting between positive and negative signals.
“Where does it hurt, Molly?” Gianni inquired, approaching me and gently securing my right leg.
His touch was so delicate that I almost didn’t realize he was holding my foot. I hesitated to admit that it was my thigh causing the most pain, trying to appear strong.
Despite this, his touch felt familiar and comforting, reminiscent of our past love. When our eyes met, I averted mine.
“It’s okay, I can handle it,” I murmured, lightly massaging the area. However, when I attempted to stand up, the pain intensified.
Gianni must have sensed my discomfort without me saying a word, as he focused on the area where my fingers had trailed and began massaging it.
The pain was intense, but gradually subsided under his skilled touch. “Thank you,” I said as I rose from the bed, feeling a slight numbness in my legs before Roger suddenly burst into laughter.
The child’s behavior was unpredictable. Gianni looked apologetic, ready to reprimand Roger when the boy made a comment.
“Molly, when was the last time you exercised?” he inquired, causing confusion to swirl in my mind momentarily.
I wasn’t someone who prioritized exercise in my busy schedule, yet I always managed to maintain a fit appearance, thanks to my mother’s genetics.
“I don’t understand,” I admitted honestly, prompting a shake of his head. “Uncle Hank should help you with some training. Your muscles are too tight, leading to a muscle pull.”
His observation struck a chord with me. I hadn’t considered the lack of exercise as a factor, but he was right. I couldn’t recall the last time I had engaged in physical activity, and the reduced household chores at this mansion contributed to my lack of exercise.
At Wesley’s house, doing all those chores was a form of exercise to me so I never felt my muscles tighten like Roger said before.
“If you want to exercise, there's a gym on the first floor and I can help you with some self-defense moves" Gianni mentioned.
I recalled using the gym during my days of fame when I was in my best shape. However, we needed to leave for work in an hour, and Roger had to be dropped off at school within that time.
"Okay, I'll wake up earlier tomorrow and work out before heading to work," I decided. That self defense would also be good against the bullies in case I come across then when managing my company.
Gianni's pleased smile was contagious as he replied, "Not bad. Let's all get ready for work, and you, little man, should prepare for school."
"I'm going to shower, but I don't need supervision," Roger declared, running to the shower room and locking the door. Gianni ran his fingers through his hair frustratedly and looked at me. "Don't worry. You should get ready," he advised.
As I reached the door, I remembered something and told him, "Please wear a shirt and pants next time."
A smirk played on his lips as he teasingly asked, "Does my body turn you on?"
My cheeks reddened at his directness, but I couldn't admit it. "Of course not. I'm just concerned for the maids."
Without waiting for a response, I hurried to the kitchen, quickly preparing Roger's favorite baked spaghetti for breakfast.
Placing the food on the warmer mat, I freshened up and got ready. Upon my return, I found both Roger and Gianni enjoying the baked spaghetti instead of Gianni's usual morning coffee.
"I told you it was good. She should be the cook, not my nanny," Roger remarked, but Gianni disagreed.
"You better enjoy it now because she'll be busy soon and can't be confined to the kitchen."
Their interaction was heartwarming, and I felt touched that Gianni saw potential in me beyond my role as a nanny.
"You seem to like her. You've never allowed any nanny to sleep in my bed before," Roger observed, making Gianni slightly uncomfortable.
I regretted appearing so early, as Gianni's attention shifted to me as soon as he noticed my presence.
“Molly, you should eat now. We'll wait in the car."
I didn't refuse because I hadn't planned on having breakfast at the office. As for the cafeteria, I had no intention of going there again.
When we reached the car, I noticed there were no bodyguards, which was quite strange. "Are you driving yourself?" I asked Gianni. He glanced at Roger before responding.
"Is this your first time seeing me drive?"
It wasn't my first time seeing him drive, as he had driven me to Wesley's house before, but I pointed out, "You always had your bodyguard drive us to work."
Before Gianni could respond, Roger interjected eagerly. "Molly, just get in the car and don't make him change his mind."
I now understood why Gianni was driving. Roger had likely insisted. Halfway through the journey, before we reached Roger's school, my phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number, so I answered.
"Molly, how dare you block me?" It was Wesley, and he had just ruined my day.
"Screw you, Wesley," I said, about to end the call when he threatened, "If you hang up, I will destroy your heart bracelet."
The heart bracelet was one of the family heirlooms my late mother had left me, and I thought it was safe in my jewelry box. "Where did you get it?"
