Chapter 34 Declare One Missing
Giovanni’s POV
I couldn’t reveal all sides of my business to Molly as that were too dangerous.
Having her at the corporation would be the best for her at the moment and I was glad she wasn’t prone too probing too much.
While chatting with her, I noticed a car following us. Initially, I didn’t pay much attention to it, but when I tried to pull over as I did, my suspicions were confirmed.
As I got out of the car, his mistake was attempting to run instead of pretending his car had a fault, which would have been a better excuse.
It didn’t take long for me to catch up to him as he tried to flee, waiting for approaching cars before crossing the street.
It wouldn’t have been right to kill him there, so I made a mental note to always have at least one bodyguard with me in the future. This situation should have been easily handled by them.
Once I grabbed him by the hair, his struggles were futile as I knew he wouldn’t be able to escape.
Pushing him back into his car, I interrogated him, “Why were you following me?”
“I don't know what you're talking about," was his careless response. I grabbed a pen from his passenger seat and thrust it into his eye. He started wailing like a woman, blood oozing from his eyes and spreading everywhere.
I was disgusted with myself for staining my pants. This is why I despised dealing with these types of rats. If we weren't out in the open, I would have taught him a harsher lesson.
"Please, I'll talk," he pleaded in a pained voice. I urged him on, warning, "Hurry up, or your other eye will suffer the same fate."
Blood still covered him, so I wiped it off with his shirt, but it quickly soaked through again.
With Molly in the car, I didn't want her to witness this side of me. However, as he began to speak and I saw a man entering my car, I had no choice.
"A man named Wesley Thompson hired me to provide him with information about your whereabouts."
Realizing it was Wesley, I suspected the other person was also sent by him. I dragged the man along with me, disguising his appearance to match mine so that no one would suspect what was happening.
As I approached my car, I saw him covering Molly's mouth and whispering something inaudible, which ignited a surge of anger within me.
Without hesitation, I grabbed his neck and forcefully smashed his face against the car.
I quickly reached for my phone in the compartment and used voice to instruct. “Call Zak."
Upon hearing his voice on the line, I also noticed the fear in Molly's eyes.
"Track my location and come here," I directed Zak before turning my attention back to the two men on the ground, shielded from view by my car.
"Are you working together?" I questioned, suppressing the urge to smoke in Molly's presence. These kinds of things gave me the urge for a smoke and liquor.
"I don't know him," the first man replied, prompting me to ask the second man, "Who sent you?"
As a car approached, I recognized it as Zak's. The second man refused to divulge any information, prompting me to stomp on his face, eliciting a pained groan from him.
“Don, we can take it from here," Zak said as he arrived with two other bodyguards. I left the two men for him and instructed,
"Declare that one missing. As for this one, I want to know who he works for," before settling back in the car.
I drove quickly to the office, relieved that Molly remained silent, though visibly shaken.
Once there, I headed straight to the shower room in my office, allowing the warm water to wash away the filthy blood.
I was grateful for the privacy provided by the private elevator, ensuring only my new secretary could see me whenever I arrive.
After changing into fresh clothes, I finally felt more at ease. Despite the emails and documents awaiting me, I couldn't shake the feeling that Wesley had sent a spy after me.
Call Wesley and put it on speaker," I instructed Molly, who looked curious but complied. The events at the door seemed to have overwhelmed her, leaving her in a state of shock.
"Molly, what do you want again?" Wesley's miserable voice came through the speaker, and Molly stared at me as I spoke.
"It's me, Giovanni. Next time you send a spy after me, make sure he's strong enough," I said, prompting a silence at the end of the line before the call ended. Turning to Molly, I asked, "Do you have anything else in his house?"
She nodded. "Yes, but I don't have any use for them." I was pleased with her response and inquired, "Do you want to shower?"
Checking the time on her wristwatch, she shook her head. "No, get me a driver to go pick up Roger. You have a lot to do, and since tomorrow is a weekend, can I start work on Monday?"
I was about to accompany her when the intercom rang, and I answered it. "Sir, Eleanor is here to see you. She says it's urgent."
