Chapter 771: Rights and Wrongs
Upon hearing this, Kimberly felt a wave of uncertainty. After seeing Vincent's behavior at the Watson Mansion tonight, she couldn't dismiss the possibility that he might actually do something like this.
Right now, Kimberly knew she had to rely on herself.
Despite the situation, she showed no fear. She stood her ground and said, "You think the cops can't handle you? Fine, I'll expose you online. Even if you can deal with it, your reputation will take a hit. Go ahead, try me."
Though it seemed a bit childish and crude, it was a highly effective threat.
Sure enough, Austin and his crew's expressions changed when they heard Kimberly's words. They exchanged glances and then burst into laughter.
"Who do you think you're scaring? You think we're that easy to intimidate? That's hilarious."
The security chief, just a security guard after all, didn't dare to offend these people, so he tried to mediate. "Gentlemen, we're all educated and respectable people. Let's discuss this calmly and avoid any rash actions."
Austin didn't take the security guard seriously at all. He spat at him and sneered, "Who do you think you are, talking to me like that? Just a lowly security guard. Do you really think I can't get Mr. Watson to fire you in a second? You'll be out on the street."
The security chief's face turned pale. Though he wanted to fight back, he knew he couldn't afford to offend these people. He had to swallow his pride.
Seeing the security chief humiliated, Kimberly couldn't stand it. She pulled out her phone and started recording.
Suddenly, everyone was stunned, even Marc frowned. "What are you doing?"
"I may not be a legal expert, but what you're doing now is harassment. I have the right to record and preserve evidence. I'll call the police later. You all think you're untouchable, right? Let's see if you're really not afraid of trouble," Kimberly said, zooming in on each person's face, recording them clearly.
Some tried to cover their faces with their hands, while others pushed their female companions away. Most of these men were married and feared Kimberly would post the video online, causing them great embarrassment.
At that moment, lights approached from the courtyard. Two cars were speeding towards them.
Marc thought Vincent was coming to help and arrogantly said, "My brother's here to pick me up. Let me tell you, the Watson Family is run by my brother, not Amelia."
Since the security chief's earlier comment, Marc had been fuming and was eager to vent his anger.
When the cars arrived, Lexine quickly stepped out. Seeing the scene, her face darkened.
For some reason, Kimberly felt like she was seeing a savior in Lexine and had an urge to cry.
"Lexine," Kimberly said, holding Caleb, looking helpless.
Lexine walked over and embraced her, then checked on Caleb. Her sharp gaze swept over the people outside the gate.
They exchanged uneasy glances, feeling intimidated.
Austin, however, remained defiant. "You're just Amelia's lapdog. Why are you looking at us like that? Do you think I'm afraid of you?"
Lexine's eyes were calm and indifferent. She said slowly, "By bullying Ms. Sanchez tonight, you are insulting Mrs. Watson. I will relay everything you said to Mrs. Watson."
Though they claimed not to fear Amelia, it was a lie. Everyone knew Amelia's undefeated record in the business world. She was practically a legend in Emerald City, and the Watson Group's success was largely due to her.
Vincent was the current driving force, but Amelia had built the foundation.
Austin swallowed hard. "What does Amelia have to do with this? She's just a tutor. We didn't do anything wrong, just wanted to be friends. Who knew she'd overreact?"
Kimberly retorted, "Do you need me to repeat the filthy words you said? The video clearly recorded everything. Still want to deny it?"
Kimberly noticed that no one had exited the second car, a new Bentley. Due to the darkness, she couldn't see inside, but she suspected Vincent was in the car.
The security chief spoke up, "These people have been harassing Ms. Sanchez, saying many unpleasant things. Ms. Sanchez was already leaving with the child but had to return because they chased her."
Austin and his group looked fearful, while Lexine's eyes narrowed, her cold gaze intensifying.
"Mrs. Watson will terminate all business dealings with your companies. We'll also investigate your companies thoroughly and hand over any evidence to the authorities," Lexine said calmly.
Her simple statement terrified everyone present.
Marc's face was grim. He pressed his lips tightly, his eyes cold. "The Watson Group belongs to my brother. What right do you have to say this? What right does Amelia have?"
Lexine's cold gaze swept over him, her expression dark. "Mr. Watson is in the car behind. Do you want to say that to his face and see what he says?"
Learning Vincent was in the car, Kimberly and everyone else were stunned.
At that moment, more lights and engine sounds came from behind. Turning around, they saw Howard arriving in an open-top car from the Watson Mansion.
The car stopped, and Howard jumped out, running to Kimberly and hugging her leg tightly, panting. "Ms. Sanchez, are you okay? I came to save you!"
Howard had wanted milk before bed and overheard Lexine and Amelia talking, learning about the situation outside. He had then tricked the driver into bringing him over right after Lexine left.
