Chapter 38 Elodie's White Dress

Chapter 38 Elodie's White Dress

She pushed Elodie's wheelchair and said nonchalantly, "Gavin cares the most about dining etiquette. Be more refined and stop smacking your lips."

She couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Elodie smacking her lips at the banquet.

Elodie turned her head and looked at her in confusion, "What are you laughing at?"

Celeste covered her mouth, "Nothing, I'm just happy for you that Mr. Garcia will soon favor you."

Elodie found it strange but said nothing.

After getting into the car, she shyly looked at Henry, "Mr. Montague, do you think Mr. Garcia will like my outfit today?"

Henry didn't even glance at her and replied indifferently, "It's okay."

From a distance, he thought Grace looked more better in casual clothes than Elodie did in her outfit.

Celeste held back her laughter. It wasn't just her outfit, even the powder on her face made Celeste feel embarrassed to stand next to her.

But foe Elodie, Henry's words were full of admiration.

She actually just wanted to test Henry's thoughts. Today, she had specially worn what she thought was her best-looking dress.

She thought that tonight she would first win Gavin's favor, then find a way to go home with Henry. She would pretend to be drunk and sleep at Henry's place. In a moment of deep affection, she would get him drunk. She didn't believe he wouldn't make a mistake.

That way, she could rightfully demand to marry him. After all, a woman's reputation was very important.

Even if it wasn't her first time, it was still her right.

Soon, the car stopped.

She was about to tell Henry that she felt unwell and needed to be carried out when she saw Henry open the door and leave alone.

The one who came to carry her was a driver in his fifties. Elodie felt wronged and refused to get out of the car. Celeste held the car door and said coldly, "Miss Williams, Mr. Montague's time is very precious!"

Elodie looked at Henry's departing figure, feeling very angry.

Celeste, seeing her frustrated look, showed no mercy, "Miss Williams, you were married and became disabled by your ex-husband. Mr. Montague arranged for your treatment and to fulfill your dreams out of sympathy. As for anything else, Miss Williams, don't overthink it!"

She added, "Your mother hit Mrs. Montague last time, and Mr. Montague was very angry."

Elodie was in disbelief, "How is that possible? Mr. Montague didn't blame me."

Celeste just looked at her with a look that said she was an idiot.

Elodie was so naive! He didn't blame her because it would be beneath him. Didn't this fool notice Henry's coldness? Recently, whenever Elodie was mentioned, Henry always seemed impatient.

And how long had it been since Henry visited her at Serenity General Hospital?

Women were the most sensitive, and Celeste's intuition told her that Henry's heart was with Grace.

Otherwise, why wouldn't he get a divorce?

While they were entangled in words, Gavin's assistant came out of the hotel and greeted Henry warmly, "Mr. Montague, Mr. Garcia has long admired you and wanted to meet you for a long time! Today, for the first time, Mr. Garcia has prepared your favorite wine. You must have a good catch-up."

Henry raised an eyebrow.

He lightly adjusted his cufflinks and said indifferently, "Mr. Garcia and I are mere acquaintances. How would he know about my small preferences?"

Gavin's assistant was taken aback.

Realizing he had misspoken, he quickly explained, "I heard it from gossip."

Henry smiled faintly and didn't pursue the matter.

The assistant breathed a sigh of relief and then looked at Elodie.

He had heard that Elodie was exceptionally talented, but he hadn't heard that she was crippled. And her outfit was really ugly!

Elodie was particularly excited, "Are you Mr. Garcia? I admire you so much."

The assistant smiled, "I am Mr. Garcia's assistant, Owen Davis."

Elodie immediately looked down on him, realizing he wasn't Gavin, just an assistant.

She raised her head with a disdainful look.

Celeste sneered, Owen was the most famous agent, holding countless high-quality resources. Many young musicians had to curry favor with him! Elodie was nothing, yet she dared to roll her eyes at him. What an idiot!

But Celeste didn't remind her, she wanted to see Elodie make a fool of herself.

And she was even more looking forward to seeing Elodie make a fool of herself at the dinner table, did Elodie really think she's Grace?

These days, seeing her invitations rejected by Henry, she blamed Celeste, saying she spoke ill of her in front of Henry.

This made Celeste look down on Elodie even more. If she hadn't awakened Henry back then, Henry wouldn't even bother to look at her.

In contrast, although Grace was annoying, she didn't play mind games and was very capable.

Sure enough, when they met Gavin, Owen whispered a few words to him.

Gavin frowned, sizing up this famous woman who had taken his prized student's husband, a crippled woman.

He thought Elodie was very ordinary, and she didn't even know how to do basic makeup.

But since Henry brought her, he had to give some face, so he gave a perfunctory smile.

Elodie sat next to Henry, feeling excited.

As long as Gavin accepted her as a student, once she completed her studies, she would be a world-renowned violinist. Then she would be worthy of Henry. As long as Henry married her, her future would be bright.

As for Grace, she was just someone who used despicable means to take Elodie's place. By then, she would have Henry divorce her. But since Grace had occupied Henry for many years, she must give her a lesson.
