Chapter 22 A Bowl of Soup Worth $100,000

Chapter 22 A Bowl of Soup Worth $100,000

Evening.

Inside the black Bentley, Henry's fingers rhythmically tapped on the steering wheel.

Through the rearview mirror, he glanced at Grace, who was quietly sitting in the passenger seat.

Tonight, she was dazzling, a side of her he had never seen before. At the banquet, his intuition told him. Felix's appearance was because of Grace.

As the car drove to the villa entrance, he took a cigarette pack from the side, shook out a cigarette, placed it between his lips, and lit it.

The smoke filled the air, Henry's eyes deep, looking at Grace with a gentle gaze.

She wore a dark-colored cocktail dress, slightly revealing her shoulders, two beautiful slender legs exposed, long and tender.

She was exceptionally beautiful.

He had always thought Grace was beautiful, suitable to be his wife. So he kept her by his side.

Under the dim light, her slightly exposed shoulders glowed with a lustrous sheen.

Grace felt uncomfortable under his gaze, feeling nervous.

She opened the car door. "Let's go see Grandma. This is the last time. It's better not to have too much contact in the future."

Henry leaned over, holding Grace's hand, with no trace of desire in his eyes.

Grace wanted to pull away, but Henry held her tightly. She frowned. "What do you mean?"

Henry's feelings were complicated. In the past three years of marriage, he didn't care about Grace at all. Even when she asked for a divorce, he still had no reaction.

But Grace's stunning appearance was something he had never noticed.

He got out and walked to the passenger door, opened it, and looked at the uneasy Grace sitting in the seat.

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her out, outside the silent villa entrance.

Henry looked at her face, raised his hand to gently stroke her lips, one hand around her waist, kneading the soft flesh of her lower back, then kissed her forcefully.

The air was filled with a faint herbal scent, and Grace's ears becoming increasingly hot.

He knew her lower back was the most sensitive, visibly, her skin began to turn a light pink.

Henry bit her lips, pushed away by Grace with force, he stared at her lips again, his Adam's apple involuntarily moving.

He gently caressed Grace's delicate face. "What should I judge you, Mrs. Montague, a woman full of deadly allure, right?"

Grace didn't understand what he meant.

But on the way, Henry occasionally look at her intently, making her a little scared.

In his eyes was a gentleness she had never seen before.

But she wouldn't foolishly think that Henry would fall in love with her.

He forcefully pulled her into his arms, looking down at her, "This job is not suitable for you, I'll arrange something else for you."

His tone was very gentle, but Grace felt a strange feeling.

She went out to work to get rid of him, to be self-reliant, but if she went back to being the caged one, what was the point of everything she did?

"No need, thank you for your kindness, Mr. Montague, I think it's fine." Grace said, trying to pry his hands off her.

But Henry took the opportunity to turn her around, their eyes meeting, his eyes deeper than ever, looking at Grace, his voice hoarse. "Is it that you don't want anything I give you?"

Grace nodded. "If Mr. Montague wants to give charity, you can give it to Elodie, I don't care."

She said, trying to break free from his body, Henry wanted to continue questioning, but the carved gate beside them opened.

Aurora stared at the two embracing in front of the car, with a hint of satisfaction in her eyes: "If you want to flirt, do it after dinner, now come with me to see Seraphina, today is a family dinner."

Henry listened and let go of Grace, but his hand still held Grace's small hand tightly.

His thumb gently rubbed her smooth hand.

Grace wanted to pull away, but thinking of Henry's threat today, she didn't want Lucas to be implicated because of her.

So she didn't struggle anymore.

Henry was very satisfied, the two walked hand in hand into the villa's door, like a loving couple.

Inside the Montague Mansion, it was very lively.

Servants were busy, bringing various delicacies to the table.

At the family dinner, the table was full of people.

Seraphina happily stroked Grace's hand. "Grace, this is your first time attending our Montague family gathering, right."

She pointed to the various elites at the family dinner, introducing them one by one.

It was clear to anyone that Seraphina wanted to make the hidden Grace public.

To let everyone know, the Montague family only admited Grace as Henry's wife, not Elodie, the crippled invalid.

After the introductions, Seraphina said to Grace. "Grace, you are still too thin, I'll arrange for the kitchen to make some nourishing soup for you two, so you can get pregnant soon."

Her smile was very kind, gently holding Grace's hand, whose face was slightly red from her words. "Grace, the future of the Montague family is in your hands."

"In the past, Henry was immature. If he ever goes to see Elodie again, I'll break his legs."

Henry didn't dare to speak, knowing Seraphina was helping him.

Others at the banquet had also heard about the discord between Henry and Grace, but now it seemed to be just a rumor.

Henry noticed Seraphina's gaze, understood, and wiped his lips with a napkin, then said, "Grandma, I'll take Grace upstairs to sleep now!"

Seraphina smiled and urged, "Go ahead, and make sure to drink the nourishing soup later."

Grace blushed but didn't expose the act.

As soon as they left, Seraphina said to the others at the banquet, "It looks like the Montague family will soon have a new addition. I need to go pray that Grace gets pregnant soon."

Saying this, she hurriedly left.

Henry held Grace's hand as they went upstairs. Once in the bedroom, Grace forcefully pulled her hand away. "Alright, the act is over. I should go home now."

Henry chuckled. "Since you're here, don't think about leaving."

At that moment, there was a knock on the door. Henry had to open it, only to find his mother, Aurora.

After closing the door, Aurora signaled to talk aside.

At the corner, Aurora's face was not pleased. "Henry, what happened this afternoon at the Azure Palace Hotel?"

"How could you let Grace go to such a place and perform as a violinist?"

Henry was a bit helpless. "Mom, Grace is divorcing me, I can't control her."

Aurora's tone was firm. "She is your wife. How did you manage before? Can't you do it now? Do you know what kind of person Frank is? And  Juniper, with such a bad reputation, make sure Grace cuts off contact with her, remember that."

She then called the servant behind her to bring the nourishing soup to the bedroom.

After placing the soup down, Henry closed the door. He didn't care about what Aurora had just said.

But when he met Grace's wary eyes, he found it amusing.

He picked up the two small bowls and sat next to Grace. "Drink it.

Grace didn't take it.

"Drink a bowl, and I'll give you a hundred thousand dollars. This is personally made by Grandma." Henry smiled.

Grace felt that the whole family was scheming against her, but Seraphina meant no harm. She took the bowl and drank it in one gulp.

Seeing this, Henry also drank his soup, then placed the bowls on the table.

Feeling the heat spreading through his body, he leaned over and pinned Grace down.

Henry's high nose lightly brushed against her delicate nose, his voice ambiguous and hoarse. "Since we've had the soup, why not make love tonight? We've been interrupted every time, but tonight we finally have time."

"This time I'll be gentle." Finally, he revealed his true nature.

Indeed, the family dinner was just an excuse to lure her here. In reality, he couldn't hold back his desire to make love with her.

Grace wanted to escape but couldn't.

"So, do you want it? I'll make love to you for free." His hot breath sprayed on the soft flesh behind her ear.

Grace felt ashamed, turning her head to meet his gaze: "Henry, you're being a bit too shameless."

Henry ignored her, his hand starting to touch her.

Grace thought he had gone mad. "Henry, if you want to do it so much, I'll call Elodie over. She might be looking forward to doing this with you."

She had seen through him and regretted wasting three years in this loveless marriage.

She had been so foolish before.

Hearing this, Henry let go of her, looking at her indifferent expression.

With a mocking smile, he said, "You're quite generous now."

Grace chuckled. "It's just the truth."

In three years, Henry had never loved her, only desired her. Now that she was leaving, with his higher-than-average needs, he naturally couldn't hold back.

With Elodie injured, he naturally turned his attention to her.

Henry, still angry, was about to get up when Grace's phone rang.

It was a message from Facebook.

He frowned slightly, snatching the phone from Grace's hand.

Grace saw the message was from Lucas.

Henry glanced at the phone, then stared at Grace with dark eyes. "Lucas is messaging you in the middle of the night? You really are charming!"
