In the evening, Juniper was still out cold.
Clara saw Grace's red eyes and gently said, "I'm here with her. Why don't you go home, shower, change, and rest a bit? You can't keep this up. Plus, your dad's worried about you."
Grace nodded. Before leaving, she held Juniper's hand and softly said, "Juniper, wake up soon."
Clara's eyes welled up again. She walked over to Grace and quietly asked, "This morning, I saw you with Lucas. Are you thinking about giving him a chance?"
Grace paused before replying, "Clara, I can't think about a relationship right now."
Clara hesitated, then said, "Even if it's not the right time, don't shut him out completely. He really likes you and respects me and your dad."
Grace nodded. "I know, Clara."
After a few more words, Grace headed downstairs.
As soon as she stepped out of the hospital, someone grabbed her hand. Startled, she turned to see Henry.
In the twilight, Henry's face looked especially stern.
He stared at her and softly said, "Get in the car!"
Grace refused, but Henry forcefully pressed her against the Rolls-Royce. He leaned in, pressing her shoulders painfully against the car.
Henry's face was close, and his words were even colder. "Is it because of Lucas? You won't even get in my car because of him? Are you steering clear of me 'cause of that guy?"
Grace, exhausted, didn't want to deal with him. "Henry, we're divorced! Even if I'm with someone else, I don't need your approval!"
Henry stared at her for a long moment.
Suddenly, he opened the back door and pushed Grace inside. Before she could get out, he followed her in and locked the doors.
Grace turned to look at him, her eyes red. "Henry, you're crazy!"
Henry raised his hand and lightly patted her face twice, his gaze deep. "If you're with him, I might really go crazy!"
Grace angrily turned her face away.
Henry's expression grew more complicated because Grace didn't deny it. She didn't deny her relationship with Lucas, which meant she was considering being with him. How could he tolerate that?
Outside, the twilight faded.
Inside the car, it was dim and shadowy.
Henry lit a cigarette.
Gray smoke slowly rose inside the car, and his voice was slightly hoarse. "Do you know his background? He's the son of Neil and Heather!"
He turned to look at her. "Do you still want to be with him? Looking at his familiar face, won't you feel confused? Won't you call out the wrong name in bed?"
Grace slapped him.
Henry didn't get angry. He stared straight at her. "I forbid you to like him!"
Grace felt exhausted. She turned her face away, looking at the twilight outside, watching the hurried pedestrians. After a long time, she softly said, "Henry, after everything, we're still in the same place! You don't love me; you're just scared of someone else snagging me!"
"No matter what you think!" Henry extinguished the cigarette, but the car was still filled with lingering smoke.
His tone was calm. "You don't want to talk about us, do you? Fine, let's talk about Juniper."
Grace suddenly turned to look at him.
Henry stared straight ahead and said, "Mr. Vincent Cavendish won't stop! He wants Juniper gone! Grace, you might not believe me now, but when you lose more, you'll see I'm the only one who can help you!"
He continued, "Lucas is out of his depth. He can't take on the Green family and the Cavendish family. Once you're together, he'll realize he can't give you anything but love, and he can't protect Juniper! Then, he'll regret not choosing power over medicine. Grace, only greater power can fight power."
Grace was trembling all over.
She didn't want to believe Henry, but deep down, she knew he had no reason to lie. She was terrified something would happen to Juniper again. If it did, she'd never forgive herself.
Sensing her struggle, Henry smiled faintly. He even leaned over to open the car door for her and politely asked, "Do you want to take a cab, or should I drive you back?"
"I'll take a cab!" Grace stumbled out of the car, too tired to stand straight.
Henry didn't help her.
He sat in the luxurious car, calmly watching her leave. He knew Grace would eventually choose him because, in Evergreen City, no one else could help her.
But, would Lucas become her regret?
In the future, when Grace returned to him, would she still think of Lucas, even in bed, looking at his face, touching his body, and remembering that hug in the hospital?
Under the night sky, Henry's hand tightened, and his Adam's apple moved up and down uncontrollably.
He didn't dare to think further if Grace had fallen for Lucas.
