Chapter 61
Gérard ’s POV
I felt the air being expelled from me and the blood draining from my body. Was Juliette pregnant, or was that night... not a joke?
I felt terrible because my damn fears had made me react in the worst way, and now that I knew there was a creature in her belly... I wanted so much to meet it, to take care of it.
Tears welled up in my eyes. I needed to get out of this place and apologize to Juliette. I felt guilty because when she mentioned seeing a doctor, it was probably a visit to a gynecologist.
"Where is she? How did you find out about my son?" I demanded.
"Your pathetic Juliette is with Damien, and as for your son, I heard about it there," she smiled broadly. "You have the nerve to find out only now. Didn't your sweetheart tell you?"
"Stop it and tell me what you want, damn it," I had enough of her.
"Calm down and stop insulting me," she said seriously. "You see, if I give the order, he'll end her life. You better obey me, darling."
"Damn it, Alice! Woe to you if anything bad happens to Julie and my son. I could kill you with my own hands, you crazy witch!"
"I already told you that you must obey me in everything, otherwise she and her offspring die. Her life depends on you."
"What do you want? I can give you all the money you want," I said in despair.
"What I want is very simple, only you can satisfy my whim, Ale."
"Speak, damn it."
"I want you, at all costs, but you must be mine forever."

Alice's POV
"Damien, I just found out that Juliette is expecting Gérard's bastard," I said as soon as he answered.
"Wow, what a surprise, we can use that to our advantage."
"You know I really want Isabella dead," I said angrily.
"I didn't realize you hated her so much."
"Make her disappear."
"No, the only reason I'm helping you is to keep Gérard away from my path. I don't intend to harm Juliette, you know my feelings for her.”
"Now she's going to have her child, idiot. Do you plan to take care of a baby who doesn't carry your blood?"
"Nonsense, you forget that I'm a doctor. This baby may not be born yet, but killing Juliette, never," he said confidently, and I rolled my eyes.
I wanted his death, but well. His dead son was better than nothing.
"The time has come to move on to the second part of our plan," I said with a broad smile.
Juliette's POV
I was very nervous; Vincent still hadn't heard from Gérard, and it had been over 24 hours since he disappeared. I had to do something.
"I need to go out and look for him," I said, getting up from the chair.
"Juliette, you're crazy. You can't do that, especially in your condition," my sister said, holding me back by the arm.
"Sophie, let me go, he's your brother too, he needs our help," I said, trying to free myself.
Suddenly, the sound of the phone interrupted us.
"It's Damien!"
"Quick, answer!"
"Hello?"
"Juliette, what a pleasure to hear your beautiful voice."
"Nonsense, answer me, where is Gérard?" I said annoyed.
"My dear, if you want me to answer your questions, you should be more kind," he said mockingly.
"My patience is wearing thin. Where is he?"
"Okay, I'll tell you where he is, but there's a condition you must fulfill."
"What is it?”
Juliette's POV
"It's very simple, I want to see you today, exactly at 8 p.m. No company, especially not the police. If you break these conditions, I swear you'll never see your sweetheart again. I've already sent you the address via message."
"Okay, I'll be there on time."
"Perfect, goodbye, my dear."
"Juliette, we need to inform Vincent. I don't want you to meet Damien alone, it's too dangerous," my sister said.
"I have to do it, Sophie, Gérard needs me."
"Don't be foolish, Juliette. It's a trap."
"I don't care, I'm going, and no one will stop me."
Sophie rolled her eyes, then smiled.
"I have an idea."
"What's that?"
"What if someone else goes in your place?"
"How so?"
"Someone else going pretending to be you?"
"Damien is very clever; he'll realize it's not me," I argued.
"You know, I could replace you. Think about it, Chloé is an expert in makeup. I can wear a wig and contact lenses, I'm sure she can do an excellent job. Plus, our height and silhouette are the same. I'm afraid Damien might try something bad."
"Forget about this madness, Sophie, I'll go there personally, and that's final," I said firmly.
I was ready to leave to meet Damien; I grabbed my bag and when I tried to open my bedroom door, I realized it was locked.
"Mom! Dad! Sophie! Open this door, please!"
"I'm sorry, my sister, but I can't let you put your life in danger. I promise you that Gérard and I will come back safe and sound. Trust me," my sister said from behind the door.
"Sophie, please, don't be stubborn, let me out!"
"My daughter, are you sure? I think it's dangerous for you to go."
"Relax, dad. I promise to take care of myself. Plus, Chloé and Vincent will be by my side with the police. Take care of Juliette and my nephew."
Sophie's POV
I knew my plan was foolish, but I had to try. When Juliette went to her room to take a shower and prepare her things for her appointment with Damien, I seized the opportunity to contact Chloé.
She agreed to transform me. She came to the house and started doing my makeup. Luckily, Vincent decided to help us; with his contacts, he quickly got me all the accessories I needed.
The result was incredible.
