Chapter 195: Going insane - Cole

I probably break all the traffic rules driving to campus security where Antoine said I should go, my heart beating frantically in my chest. Today is the day I really might end up killing someone, I swear. If James hurts even one strand of hair on Monet's head, he will die.

Police cars are outside the office at campus security, and I jump out of the truck and run inside the building. Antoine gets up from a chair next to a crying Chrystal, and stops me with a hand on my shoulder.

"What is going on? Where is the video?" I ask desperately.

"Cole Smith?" A female officer walks up to me. "Have you been in contact with your girlfriend?"

"Clearly not!" I exclaim. "Would I even be here if I was in contact with her!"

"Calm down, sir." The officer holds her hand up. "We're trying to piece together what might have happened to her, and where she might be."

"A rapist obviously kidnapped her or something, that's what happened!"

Chrystal starts sobbing, burying her face in her hands. "This is all my fault!"

"It's not your fault!" Antoine tells her, and then leans in closer to me. "Give me the heads-up, and I'll try to see what I can find. Was she at your place? "

"What are you still waiting for?" I ask in disbelief, panic threatening to overwhelm me. "Yeah, she said she was gonna take the bus to campus."

"I wasn't about to leave Chrystal alone, okay?" His eyes soften. "Please keep an eye on her whie I'm gone."

I'm already going insane, and he wants me to keep an eye on his crush. He goes to her and whispers something in her ear before he leaves, hopefully to fucking hack into security cameras or something.

"Sir, would you please take a seat so we can get to the bottom of this." Another officer says, and rage rushes through my system, and I take a step back, scared that I might punch a police officer and get into trouble before I find Monet.

"I'm so sorry, Cole." Chrystal sobs when I take the seat next to her.

"What was on the video?" I want to know instead. From what we know based on the clip my camera captured in her dorm room, James is a fucking rapist, and he definitely has some peculiar tendencies.

Chrytal wipes her nose with the back of her hand. "Monet was lying on a bed unconscious. That was it, she was still fully clothed though, and then he had the camera on his face and he said he got someone to replace me."

I feel a tad bit relieved, but not much, Anything could've happened between the time he sent that video and now. What time did Monet leave the apartment, and how did he kidnap her?

I let Luke and Amy know what's going on, and they get there, both of them in disbelief and anger like I was.

"Can you guys stay back here?" I ask Luke. "I can't stay here and just sit around waiting for some kind of news. I need to do something."

"Im coming with you." Luke says immediately.

I shake my head at him. "If I get into trouble after I catch that motherfucker, I don't want you involved."

"This is Stinker we're talking about here, Cole!" There's a sheen in Luke's eyes. "Do you think I give a fuck if I get into trouble?"

I can see there's no convincing him otherwise by the look in his eyes, so I nod, not wasting any more time. I hug Amy briefly who looks as if she's on the verge of tears. I already feel some kind of kinship with her, even if she doesn't turn out as my sister.

"Can you stay here? And call us as soon as you hear anything?" I ask her.

"Of course, I'll also call Dad and let him know what's going on."

Dad. She's going to call Dad. I might need Coach when I fucking kill James.

It feels like I could drive over the cars in front of me on the way to Antoine's dorm room, honking everyone in front of me, Luke and I quiet.

We both know that James's intentions are not good, and that he's probably trying to get revenge because he got kicked out of shool.

I also feel fucking helpless. I have always protected Monet, and today I failed. I should've taken her with me to Coach's house, why the hell did I let her take the bus?

Antoine opens the door as soon as I knock, immediately taking his seat behind his computer setup again. "I'm trying to hack into the security footage around your apartment complex. I've also already contacted his parents, and apparently the idiot recently purchased a new car."

"But where the hell has he been the whole time since he was expelled?" Luke wants to know. "Didn't he go back home?"

"He did." Antoine shakes his head. "Apparently the parents didn't know that he was expelled and he returned back to campus according to them. I'm also getting in their bank statements as we speak to check for any rental properties around here, just hold on a second."

"And the police couldn't find all of this out?" Luke asks sceptically.

"The police needs search warrants, I don't." Antoine looks at Luke, the seriousness of the situation reflected in his eyes.

"I used to track her phone, but the app was on my old one." I remember. "I'll download it again and see if I can log in."

Why the fuck didn't I think of that sooner?

I download the app again, and log in, and her phone is still active giving me a location. I can't believe the idiot didn't think about that.

"I have an address for an Airbnb." Antoine says at the same time. "Lets go boys, and end this motherfucker once and for all."

Again, there is silence in the inside of the cab as I speed to the destination where my whole life is, my anger becoming even worse the closer we get.

I don't knock when we get to the cottage at the back of a house. I kick down the door, barreling inside just in time to see James pulling down my girl's panties, his eyes shocked when they meet mine.

"Cole." She's crying, her eyes already red and puffy, but she's not moving. She's just lying there as if she can't.

She's alive, though, and that's all that matters.

My vision turns red, and James still tries to run past me, but I grab him and slam him down on the floor, and I hit him in the face, the sound of his nose breaking satisfying. I hear him choking on his own blood, but I hit him again.

"Cole!" Monet is sobbing now. "Cole!"

I look at my girl, but the darkness is all around me now, telling me to kill James. He hurt her, so he has to die.
