Chapter 63: Chapter Sixty-Three

Gael's POV

I looked at the incoming call with a raised eyebrow and I wondered who might be calling him but I decided to pick it up hoping that it might be an important call.

"Hello," I breathed out into the phone impatiently and I waited for the person to say something but I was met with silence.

I was surprised to see that the person calling was not saying anything and I had to check if I was mistaken and the person had hung up on the call already.

I wondered why the person would call when they knew they were not going to speak up.

I am baffled.

I kept looking at my phone and I wondered if the person on the other side of the phone was not going to talk.

"Hello…hello.." I called again hoping that someone would say something at least and instead of just sobbing.

"Are you hurt or something? Did you need help? Are you in trouble?" I asked but the person on the other side of the phone did not say anything further dk I decided to abruptly end the call.

I don't even know why I stayed on the phone longer when it was obvious that the person was not ready to say anything.

"Since you are not saying anything about me hanging up," I say and without waiting for a form of validation I ended the call.

I looked at my phone in shock and I wondered who goes around calling people and making a prank. What kind of person stupid someone and then went berserk without actually saying anything?

"Crazy people everywhere!" I exclaimed and I hung up on the call. I sighed frustratedly as my eyes moved back to Astral who was on the bed.

I wondered why she was still keeping her eyes closed when the doctors said that she was okay and should be able to wake up soon.

"Maybe..there is something up…." I was saying but my words trailed off and I was irritated thinking that it was the mute person earlier.

"Can you stop calling motherf^cker!" I yelled into my phone and I heard the person on the other side of the phone and I was shocked to hear that.

'Is this person not supposed to be mute? Why is the person gasping?' I wondered and I waited for the person to speak this time.

"Boss? Is everything alright over there?" I heard Donald's voice from the other side of the phone and I sighed seeing that it was him.

I removed my phone from my ear to check the caller ID and I was shocked to see that it was Donald calling me all along thinking it was the earlier mute caller.

"What is it?" I asked not giving Donald any explanation for cursing at him but he was also smart enough not to ask as he went straight to why he called.

"Boss, the board members are worried about your absence from work and since you badged out of the board room that day they all assumed that you are.." Donald says trailing off and I knew there might have been some crazy rumors flying around after I didn't show up at work for days.

"Can you keep them under control for a week?" I asked, rubbing my jaw in frustration knowing there was no way I was leaving Astral's side until she woke up.

"Sure boss," Donald replied over the phone and I let out a tight smile knowing that I could trust him since he was a capable man.

"Then I am going to leave those money-grumbling monsters for you to take care of.

"Then I am going to leave the company sometime hand sometime," I said into the phone and I hung up after Donald briefed me about other things.

"Can you just wake up already? I am tired," I say looking at Astral pale body on the bed and I place my head on the bed beside her.

I tried to keep myself together since that was the only way to keep my sanity intact but I was suddenly to get weary after not sleeping a wink for the past few days. Also seeing Astral's not opening her eyes was making me lose my mind.

I started to feel dizzy as my eyes dilated slowly, losing my consciousness but I felt a touch on my head and that jolted me out of my reverie.

I raised my head to see Astral with her eyes open staring at me and my heart pounded loudly in excitement and I almost ran out of the room in joy.

"Astral? Is that you?" I asked and I facepalmed myself hearing the absurd question that I just asked and I wondered what I was clueless about at the time.

'Of course, she is the one and she has opened her eyes!' I exclaimed happily.

"What are you awake now?" I asked placing my hands on her forehead trying to check her temperature and I forgot to even ask for the doctor to come check up on her.

I watched as she stared at me with eyes widened open and I wondered why she was looking at me like I was an alien or something but I brushed it off.

"Can you talk? Did you need to drink water?" I asked different questions agitated about how she was keeping her silence.

"Who are you, please?" I heard Astral ask and my world stopped immediately. Those words left her mouth and I looked at her in shock.

I looked at Astral, who looked pale lying on the hospital bed as she looked at me with her clear rounded eyes and my stomach churned with fear hoping that I was wrong with whatever I just heard.

"What? You don't know who I am?" I asked again to be sure and she nodded her head gently and my heart skipped a bit.

"Who are you? And where am I?" Astral asked and my mouth went wide open before I screamed on top of my lungs.

"Doctor!" I yelled…
