Chapter 141: CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FOURTY ONE
VIVIAN'S POV
I didn't know how I was supposed to feel about the whole thing with Mark, but there was no time to sit around. Mark was a definite pain in the ass. And I watched the priestess return at the mention of his death made it feel like that was the one thing that she had been wanting to happen. Because I mean, she didn't return when she was called to treat Derek. But Mark was dead, and she was suddenly around?
I couldn't even stand and watch all the drama that was happening. While I stayed inside, playing with Miles, a small knock came at the door. It was Amelia. I was shocked that she didn't jump in through the window as usual. I was about to ask why, but she didn't seem like she was in the mood for any of that.
“Are you okay?” I asked, and she nodded, taking Miles in her arms like that was the only thing that could help her calm down. I could see her visibly shaking, and even Miles was looking at her funny.
“I'm just shaken,” she said, and I smiled.
“Whatever you did was out of self defence,” I said, and she nodded like she was trying to believe me. I took Miles from her arms, settingbim down to keep playing with his toys while I held her. I quickly composed myself and shut the door before I went back to hugging her. That made her giggle a little.
“You don't have to worry. The whole pack is busy watching whatever they are going to do with his body.”
I was sure that I didn't want to watch any of that either. But then, I had to ask her the questions that I had been wanting to ask her the whole time.
“Why did you go to Derek's room at that time in the night?” I expected her to freeze or give any sign of guilt, but she didn't.
“I had been guarding his room the whole time. I knew that Anna was going to try something funny, but I just didn't know when. And when I heard footsteps, I wasn't sure that they were hers, so I had to check. It could have been that the person was going downstairs, but I still had to look. And I bumped into Mark.”
I was already feeling guilty for doubting her a bit. But she didn't seem to even notice. It just seemed like she was just shaken about killing someone.
“You should probably go before someone sees you here,” I said, and she shook her head.
“They cant do anything. Alpha Logan sent me here. He asked me to inform you about the party coming up this evening.”
I arched my eyebrows. “A party for what?”
“Mourning Mark's soul.” She said, and I looked away. I didn't know that a party had to be held for something like that. I didn't care if Alpha Logan just lost his prized possession, but I was definitely going to use the mourning of that wicked soul to my advantage.
I was smiling to myself, but Amelia just looked disturbed. “Do you want to lie down and get some rest?” I asked, and she nodded.
I could understand what she was feeling. She had been around Mark for more than half her life. If anything, she would feel like she had lost a brother. It didn't matter how many times he had tortured her. She was still going to feel it all.
I held her hand until I was sure that she had fallen asleep. I carried Miles up as well, feeding him until he fell asleep.
I went through most of my mails on my laptop, trying to type as fast as I could. I picked the little envelope that had been on my table since the last meeting I had with the private investigator. I headed out of the room, and locking the door behind me as I
met the last person that I wanted to see.
Anna.
I didn't know why she was constantly trying to get in my face. “Can you stop following me around?” I asked and she frowned, but quickly covered it up with a smile.
“I'm not following you. I just wanted to talk to you.”
“About what?” I asked.
“I just wanted to let you know that whatever you are doing, I'm in with you on it.”
I narrowed my eyes. The way she said it already assured me that she didn't know anything about whatever I was up to.
“Just because you managed to help Amelia with the three words that came out of your mouth doesn't mean you can now try to be nice towards me. Because I'm telling you, you are wasting your time.”
With that, I walked away, heading towards the common houses of the pack. I looked around, making sure that there was no one looking at me. I swiftly got into Kyle's men's house, and they were all sharpening their tools in ways that would have sent me out of the doors in seconds.
“I don't know your names,” I said with a sweet smile that made them look up at me.
The one that seemed to be their leader was the first to speak up.
“I'm Enzo.” He pointed at the rest. “Ricardo, and Dave.”
I gave them little waves. “There's information,” I said, and they got rid of their tools, listening to me like I was the only important thing in the world.
“There's a party this evening,” I said, and they nodded, like they understood the assignment already. “Other chances might come in, so I want us to take this whole thing extremely slowly, so we don't get suspected. Understood?” I asked, and they nodded.
“Any specific ways you want us killing them?” Enzo asked, and I looked around their tools. A small smile crept to my lips.
“Be creative.” I said, and they nodded like the understood exactly what I was talking about.
I headed them the file that I was holding. “In there, are the strong people of the pack. Practically the people that keep the pack together. Finish them off, and then we can get to the main part of the drama,” I said, and they nodded, going through the pictures already.
“See you at the party this evening,” I said, and headed out of their house, finding my way back into my room without buying into even one maid.
I hated the fact that I was planning for something like this. It was almost like I was planning for an event, but this one was death. I was visualizing it coming together. I didn't know if my father was going to happy with me, where ever he was. But he had better be. My own mother wasn't even there to support me any way. All I had was Amelia and Miles. And I hoped that no one was ever going to take them away from me.
As I out my hands on the cold door knob of my room, I knew that someone had been there already. I quickly opened it, going to check up on Miles first of all. He was still sleeping, but I out my hands couldn't stop shaking. Someone had been to the room, and j was right. Amelia was still asleep but there was now a blue package right beside her.
If frowned, opening the package. I was extremely shocked to see a red dress, sitting pretty in the box.
‘From Alpha Logan, wear for the party tonight,’ the little note said. If anything, that was a warning thag I shouldn't. It was all up to me..
