Chapter 127: CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN

DEREK’S POV

I hated myself as I struggled against Anna’s hold. I was trying to move so bad, but I couldn’t. at some point, it was even getting hard to blink again. I watched her as she stood right above me, with a knife. I didn’t even know where she got it from. I couldn’t stop the tears that had started flowing down my eyes. Vivian would have never done this. I didn’t even know why I had called her name. It felt like that was what got her upset. But she didn’t need to even do that. She was just my Luna for the sake of being my Luna. I knew that she was more comfortable spending her nights somewhere else that wasn’t in my chamber just because of my condition.

I wanted to scoff so bad. To think that she had been practically obsessed when I was okay.

“How dare you call her name?” she asked, as I kept my eyes fixed on her. I understood that she probably didn’t want me calling Vivian’s name while she cleaned. But how the hell was I going to apologize? I could barely even speak. I heard the door open, but I didn’t think she heard it as I did.

She sat down on the floor, and placed my head just on her lap, as she was about to dive in with the knife on my wrist, Amelia walked right in, with her mouth open.

Hold on. Amelia is still alive? What the actual fuck. There was something about her scent. I could smell Vivian all over her. Why? Where was she? Was she responsible for keeping Vivian away from me? I wanted to ask all these questions. I wanted to pin her to the wall and slowly squeeze harder on her throat as I asked such questions. But I couldn’t do even that. I was too fucking weak for that.

“What were you just about to do?” she asked, screaming.

My father walked in right after her. There was shock on his face. I didn’t know why he was acting shocked. He should have expected that. After all, I wasn’t that important to hire a proper caretaker. He couldn’t ask one of his pets to come and take care of me. He sent the one who was constantly giving herself to Mark even while I was still alive. I didn’t know if I was supposed to feel hurt that once again, my father showed that Mark was the more important child to him.

I didn’t even know if my pack was already given to him as a kind of gift.

“What’s going on?” my dad asked, looking between a shocked Anna, and an angry Amelia while I laid on the floor, with my head turned to the side. Amelia helped turn my neck to the proper side, and Anna quickly stood up, like I was the least of her worries. It was almost as if she didn’t even want to suddenly touch me. How people changed.

“She was about to slit his wrist. You precious daughter in law was about to kill your fucking son!” Amelia screamed.

I wanted to frown and ask Amelia why she suddenly cared. After all, she didn’t look back when she had run away.

And even when she had run away, people said she was dead. But there she was, standing right in front of me. That just showed that Vivian had a chance right? She had a chance to turn up at the door.

“No, I wasn’t!” Anna denied immediately. “I just wanted to cut his nails,” she said, raising my hands. For some reason, they were still perfectly trimmed. Why the hell weren’t they growing. I got a small glimpse of myself in the mirror. I was losing weight alright, but my hair was still in the perfect condition. Was that the effect of the sickness? Nothing about me was growing at any point since I last saw it. everything was exactly the same. How the fuck was that happening? It wasn’t supposed to happen. When people had diseases like this, they were usually looking like they were helpless.

But there I was, looking like everything was perfect. The only difference was that it was clear that I had just had a bath. So all thanks to Anna as well for giving me a bath with all the malice in her heart.

“Cut his nails with a knife?” Amelia asked, with mockery written all over her. “You wanted to cut his fucking wrist. I saw you. He would have been dead, fighting for his life if I didn’t walk into the fucking room.”

Anna stopped smiling. She couldn’t even muster the courage to smile. She was feeling like she had already won the battle of some sort. But now, she realized that she didn’t. Amelia was willing to fight the whole thing to the end. I didn’t deserve it, but she was more than wiling.

“Anna,” Alpha Logan finally said. “What were you doing with Derek? What the hell were you about to do?” he thundered, and Anna shook.

I knew that she wasn’t going to be able to lie when my father shouted like that.

“I was about to slit his wrist,” she blurted.

My dad took a step back. “Why the hell would you want to do that?” he asked. It honestly sounded stupid that he was asking that kind of question. The girl fucking wanted me dead. Was there any need of asking her why?

“Because he doesn’t deserve to live. He had the nerve to mention Vivian’s name while I was cleaning him up.”

Amelia frowned. “According to what I’m seeing, Derek can barely even blink. What new drama are you bringing up about him calling out Vivian’s name?”

Anna opened her mouth, unable to even say a word. Amelia turned to my father.

“Alpha, I really think she should be sent away,” Amelia said, tipping her chin. She doesn’t deserve to be here.”

I waited for my father to shake his head and tell her that he would rather make Anna his pet again. He turned to Anna instead, with his hand gestured towards the door.

“You heard her,” he said, and her eyes widened. So did mine.
