Chapter 79: Date Night

While Amy was busy watching over the twins, she suddenly felt a soft kiss on her cheek. Turning around, she saw Zack holding a bouquet of roses, smiling as if he had something planned.

“Hon, what’s this?” Amy asked, blushing slightly from embarrassment.

“Get dressed, Mrs. Delgado,” Zack said, placing the flowers on the table. “We’re going out tonight.”

“Out? Zack, what about the twins? And—”

Zack stopped in front of her and placed a finger on her lips. “Relax, Hon. I made sure someone would look after the twins. Quen and the nanny will take care of them. Tonight, it’s just you and me.”

Amy stared at her husband. She didn’t expect this, especially since the past week had been so hectic with the kids and Zack’s work. “Are you sure? You didn’t have to do this.”

“Of course I do,” Zack replied, sounding slightly hurt. “Lately, we’ve been so busy. I want to remind you that you’re still the most important woman in my life.”

Amy swallowed hard at his words, feeling a warm flutter in her heart. “Okay, but give me some time to get ready.”

“Of course. Take your time,” Zack said with a playful grin. “But don’t make me wait too long, okay? I might get impatient and fetch you from the bathroom.”

Amy laughed and gently pushed her husband. “You’re so cheeky.”

When Amy stepped out of their room wearing a simple red dress, Zack couldn’t help but gape. He stood up from the sofa and walked toward her, his eyes filled with admiration.

“You look stunning, Hon,” Zack whispered, taking her hand.

“It’s just simple,” Amy said, blushing.

“Simple but absolutely gorgeous,” Zack replied, leaning in to kiss her forehead. “Let’s go. I have a surprise for you.”

In the car, Zack couldn’t stop smiling as he drove. Amy, on the other hand, couldn’t help but ask, “What’s your plan, Hon? Why do you seem more excited than I am?”

Zack smirked. “It’s a surprise. You’ll see.”

When they arrived, Amy was surprised to see where Zack had brought her—a private rooftop adorned with lights and candles, offering a stunning view of the city at night. In the center was a table elegantly set up, perfect for a special occasion.

“Zack, what is this?” Amy asked, barely able to believe what she was seeing.

“It’s our date night,” Zack said, guiding her to the table. “I had this place set up just for us. I want tonight to be unforgettable.”

Amy sat down, still in awe. “This is beautiful, Hon. How did you think of this?”

Zack smiled as he sat across from her. “Because you deserve it. I know there’s a lot happening in our lives right now, but I want to remind you that no matter how busy we get, I’ll never forget about you.”

As they ate, the couple reminisced about their memories from the early days of their relationship. Each moment was filled with laughter and warmth.

Midway through the night, Zack stood up and took Amy’s hand. “I have one more surprise.”

“Another one?” Amy asked, puzzled.

He led her to a corner of the rooftop where a violinist began playing a romantic tune. It was then Amy noticed a small dance floor prepared nearby.

“Dance with me, Hon,” Zack whispered.

“Zack, I don’t know how—”

“Just follow my lead,” Zack said, wrapping an arm around her and gently guiding her into a slow dance.

As they moved across the dance floor, Zack gazed into Amy’s eyes. “I love you, Hon. Thank you for being the best wife and mother to our twins.”

“Zack…” Amy whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. “I love you too. Thank you for always making me feel special.”

They stopped dancing, and Zack gently brought his lips to Amy’s. It was a kiss filled with love and promise. As Zack embraced her, Amy knew that no matter what challenges life threw at them, she was in the safest hands.

That night became a beautiful reminder of how lucky they were to have each other—a love that wasn’t measured by material things but by the deep connection strengthened by time.

After their romantic rooftop date, Zack and Amy walked hand in hand back to their car. Zack was quiet, his gaze fixed on his wife, as if deep in thought.

“Hon, are you okay?” Amy asked, noticing the serious expression on Zack’s face.

Zack stopped and turned to face her. Holding her hand tighter, as if he never wanted to let go, he began, “Amy, there’s something I’ve been meaning to tell you.”

Amy’s brows furrowed, her heart suddenly uneasy. “What is it, Hon? You’re making me nervous.”

Zack took a deep breath before continuing. “Ever since the twins came into our lives, I’ve been reflecting a lot on my past… and how it shaped me. I know there were times when I was overly jealous, controlling, and self-centered. But you… you changed me. You made me a better man, Amy.”

“Zack…” Amy whispered, her heart melting at his words.

“I need to confess something,” Zack said, struggling to speak but pressing on. “There were moments when I doubted myself—times when I felt like I didn’t deserve you. That’s why I’ve been so protective of you—because I’m scared that one day, I’ll wake up and you’ll realize I’m not enough.”

“Hon, that’s not true!” Amy protested, her tears threatening to spill.

Zack smiled, holding Amy’s face with both hands. “I know it’s irrational, but I can’t help it. Through everything we’ve been through, one thing is clear—you are my light, Amy. You’re my everything. And no matter how hard it gets, I’ll do whatever it takes to be worthy of your love.”

Amy couldn’t stop her tears from falling. She held Zack’s hands resting on her cheeks. “Zack, you don’t have to prove anything to me. I chose you, and that will never change. You’re not perfect, but you’re perfect for me. That’s all that matters.”

Zack pulled her into a tight embrace, as if never wanting to let her go. “Thank you, Hon. I don’t say this enough, but… thank you for choosing me, for loving me, for giving me a family. You’ve made my life so much better than I ever imagined.”

They pulled apart slightly, their eyes meeting. In that moment, time seemed to stand still. There was no need for more words—their love was felt in every gaze.

When they arrived home, the twins were sound asleep in their room. The couple peeked in to check on them, smiling as they watched their children.

“Every time I see them, I’m reminded of how lucky we are,” Zack whispered, wrapping his arms around Amy from behind.

“Me too, Hon,” Amy replied. “No matter how hard it gets, everything is worth it because of them.”

After checking on the twins, they went to their bedroom. Instead of changing right away, Zack pulled Amy to sit on the bed beside him. Taking her hand, he spoke with heartfelt sincerity.

“Hon, I promise you,” Zack said, his voice serious yet full of love, “I’ll never stop proving how much I love you. Not just with words but with actions. You and the twins are my everything.”

Amy smiled, wiping her tear-streaked face. “I know, Hon. And I promise, I’ll always be here for you. Whatever happens, we’ll face it together.”

That night, no love could compare to what Zack and Amy shared. They continued to strengthen their relationship, not just as husband and wife but as best friends and partners in every challenge life threw their way.
