Chapter 125: Hug

Scarlett’s POV

The man turned towards me immediately but before he could stretch his knife to me again, Logan stood up from the ground where he had been thrown to and hugged him from the back.

I stood frozen at the spot where I was, staring as they both fell to the floor, Logan beneath and the assassin struggling to get his body free off him.

“Scarlett! Phone the hospital!” He yelled with difficulty in his breath.

Quickly, I nodded. The telephone was just right beside me and I reached out for it but before I could place my hands on the telephone, I heard a shrill scream and I knew that voice was Logan's.

I snapped my gaze to the back and my eyes widened, lips parting in disbelief.

They were still in the same position but the masked man had twisted his knife backward and had struck it into Logan's stomach.

I watched as the masked man still wriggled to get his body free from Logan but even with the way Logan had been stabbed, he still held him tightly.

He didn't want him to hurt me.

I gulped hard and tried to think straight. I got my eyes off him and phoned the hospital like Logan had told me to.

I placed the telephone to my ears but before I could speak a word, something yanked the phone away from my ears.

The telephone and its holder both fell to the floor and I also followed.

I was startled to see the man by my side. He threw his head back as he straightened his muscles which Logan must have worn out with the way he held him.

He didn’t talk and I had a feeling that he was trying to hide his voice because I knew him.

Goddamnit! Was I supposed to have time to process that at the moment?

He tried to stab me again but I ducked.

“Fuck, Scarlett! Get the hell away from there, "Logan said.

His voice had grown weak and I knew he was losing himself at the moment, if not, he would have rushed here instead of using the little strength he had left to talk to me.

The man tried to hold me but I grabbed the telephone placer and slapped his arm with it.

That made him look at his arm and let out a groan. While he did all that, I quickly took the little space beside him and made a run for it but he was too quick to notice.

He grabbed me by the hair, yanking me backwards and making me fall to the floor.

I landed on the ground and couldn't find the strength to stand once again.

I groaned and the only thing I wanted to do at the moment was tend to my hurting ankles which I had just hurt now.

When I turned myself on the floor to be able to watch as the masked man dealt with me. He was towering over me, and his legs were slightly lifted in the air to slam into my stomach.

He did it but before his leg could make contact with my stomach, someone's leg met with his, intertwining them together and throwing him from the side we were to the other side of the bed.

I looked up and my eyes widened, both a mixture of surprise and relief swirling through me.

Christian was here.

He fought with the masked man fiercely, picking him up and punching him so hard whenever he fell.

He should remove the mask, we needed to see who it was. Christian's had opportunities to remove the mask from the guy’s face but he didn't remove it and I came to a conclusion that he wasn't in the right state to think about that.

I suddenly recalled something which was more important than watching Christian Hartley fight that man.

I went back to the telephone and connected it again. The voice of the doctor who was attending to me rose seconds after I called.

“Please get the security here. There's an intruder!” I said, my voice panicked. “He's armed and dangerous. Someone has been stabbed” I said quickly.

I dropped the phone and turned to look at the scene. Christian and the guy were looking at me. The guy was the first one to turn his face away from me.

He yanked Christian’s hands off him and quickly dashed out the door.

I wanted to run after him but I knew he wasn't important at the moment, someone else was..

Christian also didn't run after him and I didn't ask why. Not now.

I ignored his presence and rushed over to Logan's side.

He was still holding his stomach and even though he wasn't bleeding a lot, he still bled and that got me worried, my eyes getting teary.

He got this hurt trying to keep me safe.

Logan saw the look on my face and chuckled. “What's with you? I'm not dying soon”

I would have laughed like he was doing if it was funny but it wasn't.

Footsteps echoed in front of the room and I knew the security personnel were here but the person they were here to arrest was gone.

They came in and the doctor looked worried and breathless. Her eyes traveled round the room and they landed on Logan who was on the floor.

She quickly rushed to him and pressed his wound slightly.

“Does it hurt here?” She started asking questions.

Soon, she asked for him to be transferred to the bed and the guards helped her.

Christian was standing, leaning by the wall, his arms crossed and his eyes on Logan who was being tended to on the bed.

My eyes moved from his face and trailed down to his knees. His trouser had gotten stained with blood and I knew the blood was his.

His knee was also injured or an old wound had reopened.

I walked to him. “Sit” I commanded. “Your own leg too needs to be treated”

He looked at me and I wondered why he stared that way, not until he pulled me into a hug.

“I’m so fucking glad you are safe” he said into the hug but I wouldn't stop getting surprised at his actions.
