Maya
Our first day here has been incredible. We wandered around for most of the day before returning to the cabin for dinner and some wine. I wanted to have a couple of drinks and relax with my man tonight. I am still in awe of him bringing me here.
I am on the back porch, sipping a glass of wine as Conrad makes dinner. I offered to help, but he insisted he wanted to make it. He was making us spaghetti and meatballs. It is a dish I have not had in a while. I am looking forward to it. Even with it getting darker, the place is still gorgeous and peaceful. I love the sound of the running river and the whispers of the trees. I close my eyes, breathe in fresh air, and let a breath out. All of the stress has disappeared since the moment we arrived here.
I open my eyes and smile to myself.
“Maya, sweetheart, dinner is ready,” Conrad calls from the kitchen.
“Okay, my love. I am coming.”
I take the last sip of my wine and stroll inside. Conrad motions me to follow him to the living room. “Date night,” he smiles.
He had a blanket set out on the floor for us. The fire was burning. The lights were dimmed, and music was playing softly in the background. He had a couple of candles lit, too. He must have found them somewhere because we didn’t bring them with us.
“And what a perfect date night. We haven’t had one in a while. It is beautiful, my love, thank you.” I smile, kissing him softly.
“It has been too long since we have had one. We can make up for it tonight.”
I nod, and we sit down on the blanket in front of the fire, where he already had our meals and bread to go with them set out, plus a bottle of wine.
“My lady.” He bows, motioning me to sit first,
I giggle and curtsy, “Thank you, kind Sir.”
He laughs, and I take a seat. Conrad sits down straight after me. He poured us some wine.
“Dinner looks incredible.” I smile and take my first bite, groaning.
Is there anything my man can’t do? I swear a woman wrote him. He is the type of man romance movies and books are written about. Oh, our story would make one hell of a book. It would have everything in it to pull readers in. Hmm, I wonder if I could write a book. No, I don’t think I would like my life out there like that unless I wrote a fiction book.
“Does it taste good? I haven’t meat meatballs in years.” He chuckles.
His question pulls me from my thoughts.
“It is delicious. I am not surprised, though. You are an amazing cook.”
He smiles proudly, “Thanks, sweetheart.”
We eat in a comfortable silence, both enjoying it too much to speak. When we are done, there isn’t a single bite left. He sets the dishes aside. We can deal with them later.
“Thank you for dinner,” I say.
“You are welcome, beautiful. I enjoy cooking for you.”
I lean over to kiss him, “You always take such good care of me.”
“And I always will.”
“I know. What are our plans for tomorrow?”
He said he had made plans for us.
“We are going on a hike. It will take a couple of hours, but I promise it will all be worth it when we arrive. We will reach a beautiful lake and waterfalls.”
“Waterfalls?” I beam.
He nods, “Yes, they are stunning. I would show you a photo, but I want it to be a surprise. We can leave after breakfast and take a picnic with us for lunch. We can make an entire day of it.”
I smile from ear to ear, “I can’t wait. I have never seen a waterfall in person.”
“You will love it.” He replies and kisses me.
Hiking isn’t something that usually appeals to me, but I am willing to go tomorrow to see the end result—as long as we don’t get lost.
“I am sure. Another thing to tick off my bucket list.”
“You should tell me your entire bucket list, and I will make sure you can tick every one of them off.” He replies confidently.
“You would do that for me?”
He takes my hand in his, lifts it to his lips, and kisses my knuckles. “Yes. I thought you knew by now that I would do anything for you, my love.”
“Yes, I know you would, but there is a lot on it.”
“That doesn’t matter. One day, you can tell me all about it.” He suggests.
“I will.”
He would happily do whatever it took to ensure I did everything on it. I wouldn’t let him, though, because a lot of it would cost money, and he has spent enough on me. For now, I want to focus on the moment we are sharing since there haven’t been many like it recently.

After making love, Conrad and I were snuggled up on the blanket, with another blanket covering us. I had my head on his chest, and his arm was wrapped around me, tickling the small of my back.
“Tell me the top three things on your bucket list?” he asks softly.
“We are back on this, uh?” I laugh.
“Yes. Tell me.” He chuckles, prodding my side.
“Fine. I would love to visit Italy.”
“I can arrange that. What next?”
I slap his chest playfully, “We are not going to Italy.”
“Yes, we are. I will do as I did with London and this trip. I will book everything and tell you when we need to leave.” He says smugly.
I roll my eyes, “Don’t you dare.”
“Next? What is next on your list?”
“I don’t know if I want to tell you now.” I pout.
He looks down at me, “Yes, you will. Or I will book us a trip every month.” He chuckles.
“You wouldn’t?” I reply, eyeing him suspiciously.
“Are you sure about that?” he asks with a raised brow.
I glare at him, “Fine. I will tell you. Another one is camping. I have never been camping, but I would love to try it. Hmm, what else?”
I know what they all are, but if I tell him where I want to visit, he will take me. I need to come up with something else.
“I love camping. I used to do it all the time in my teens. We should do it one weekend. We can find somewhere perfect. It will be amazing. I love staying outside with nature. We can make that our next trip.”
“I would like that a lot. Nowhere fancy or far, though.”
“I promise I will keep it basic and do camping properly. Okay, you still have one last thing to tell.” He encourages.
“Learn how to surf. It is something that has always fascinated me. It would been such an incredible feeling to be at one with the water in such a way.”
“Hmm, that one is a little harder, but I am sure I could find an instructor for you. Maybe it is something we can learn together?”
“We can look into it when we arrive home.” I smile, kissing over his chest.
“Perfect. Once you have ticked them off, you can tell me what else you have on it.” He says, kissing the top of my head.
I nod, burying my face in his neck. He strokes my hair. I smile and close my eyes. I was getting tired, but I was not ready for our night to end yet. It has been great, and there are still a couple of hours left of the day. I want to make the most of it.
