Chapter 81: Eighty two

Selene's POV

I soon arrived at the company, and as I reached the employee door, the guard asked for my card, which I quickly presented. As he looked at the imprints kn the plastic card, I felt strangely satisfied and proud of myself. I had never expected to be an employee of such a luxurious and big company as this, but who knew I wasn't totally out of luck yet. The moon goddess had not forsaken me totally.

When he saw the position on my card, the guard looked surprised as he stepped to side, exclaiming, "You're the new secretary for the president. Welcome."

I couldn't fully understand why he reacted that way, but nevertheless, I smiled and went on my way to the elevator. I pressed the buttons for the top floor where my office was - due to my position as secretary, it was only proper that my office was nearest to the president's.

However, for some reason, the elevator was not opening. I pressed it again, but it still did not open. I felt it might have broken, so I moved to the other two sides, but it still did not open. I pressed their buttons repeatedly in frustration, but it was as though the heavens were against me today. I checked my wristwatch and saw that I would be late if I daddle around any more in front of the elevator.

I was about to go through the stairs when I suddenly heard a voice call out, "You can use this elevator."

I turned to look at the owner of the voice, and it was a young man standing across me by an elevator I hadn't noticed at first. I couldn't help that I noticed how well dressed and exquisite he looked, just like a prince that just walked out of an oil painting.

Not to mention that as he gestured, he was also smiling at me, and his smile was so bright that it dazzled my eyes, and I was stunned at first. He also seemed to notice this as he waved at me.

"Miss," he called out. "The elevator will close again."

I regained my senses at this and quickly shuffled over to him. "Thank you very much," I greeted gratefully as I reached the elevator, and he opened it.

He smiled and shook his head. "It's nothing. You must not have noticed it earlier. It is the president private elevator, and only a few people have access to it."

"Oh." I nodded, showing that I understood. "Anyway, thank you."

He smiled again, and I couldn't help but wonder if he knew how bright his smile was.

The elevator soon paused and opened. We had already arrived at the top floor lobby. He stepped out, and I quickly followed him out, lost as I looked around, dazzled by the interiors. The top floor was even on a different level from the downstairs lobby.

It was easy to tell that it was out of bounds from regular people. Which made it even harder for me to figure out where to go next.

The man who was about to leave suddenly turned and looked at me, smiling as he seemed to understand my predicament.

"You're the new secretary, right?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yes."

He nodded and pointed toward an office down the hallway. It seemed to be the last on the floor. "That is the president's office. Go and report to him first."

"Oh." I muttered and thanked him. "Thank you very much."

He waved an hand indifferently. "It's not an issue. It seems you're already getting quite late. You better get going."

His words jolted me to my senses, and I quickly rushed off, completely forgetting to thank him once again. I stopped at the door of the president's office, and on the door was a plaque that read; President Dominic's Office.

It seemed that the blinds of the window were opened so I could easily see the inside of the office through the transparent glass, and I could see that there was no one on seat. I sighed in relief at the thought that I was not late. I quickly knocked to double check and I jolted in shock when a male voice suddenly sounded from inside and I saw a tall figure approaching from the side and take a seat on the chair behind the office.

I breathed out of nervousness before turning the door knob and entering the office. As I shut the door behind me and turned back, I was stunned to see who it was seated on the swivel chair.
