Chapter 52 Chapter 52: The Return of the Past
Chapter 52: The Return of the Past
Vishiea’s POV
After the fight, everyone talks about it. But I don’t give a care. She’s the one who asked for that, and I only gave her what she deserves.
If Darius punishes me for hurting his queen, then let it be. He’s fucking acting like he still cares about Vishiea, but the truth is he’s only doing that to fool me?
He’s freaking out of his mind if he’s thinking that I will fall for his stupidity. You’re not gonna get me by acting like you care about me.
You even force me to admit that I am Vishiea, yet you’re still into that bitch. He’s thinking that he could fool me like before? His ass! I am not the Vishiea he knew before. I’ve changed, I changed my life, myself, because of what he did to me. Because of what he made me feel. Because of his betrayal and rejection. I changed because of the too much anger I felt that day!
I am so mad right now that I could break his nose. I don’t care about his position. That’s his business. But what he did to me before is something I will always make him pay for!
My anger was interrupted by a knock on the door.
“Come in,” I said as I fixed my stuff. I need to act kind in front of everyone so they would stop thinking that it’s me, Vishiea. Though my actions already make them believe that I am Anastasia, that’s enough. I have to be careful, especially because of what happened the other day.
Now I wonder what she looks like right now. Did her nose break because of what I did? Could she still walk? I just hope she can’t.
She’s challenging me like she knows my capability. She’s only insecure because, after all those years they spent together, all of it changed when I arrived here.
“I’m back, Lady Anastasia,” Yana entered the room. She forced a smile, yet I could still feel her sadness. She really came back to work after her mother’s burial.
“Yana, I told you to rest for the meantime. You don’t have to force yourself to work,” I told her, but she just fainted a smile.
“I have no other choice, Lady Anastasia. I have to do this. Besides, staying in the house crying wouldn’t change anything. I need to keep going, not just for myself but also for my siblings,” she uttered. I sighed and nodded my head.
She’s a strong woman. She really deserves to be rewarded.
“I want to give you this, Yana.” I walked towards her and gave her my expensive necklace. Her eyes widened but soon shook her head.
“What’s the matter?” I asked her. She sighed and looked at me with concern.
“I can’t accept that. Thank you, Lady Anastasia, for receiving a gift like that. I don’t deserve it,” she said, giving the necklace back into my hand.
I smiled at her. She’s still humble.
“You deserve it. That necklace is a gift from me. Accept it. Please,” I told her, urging her to take the necklace.
“But Lady Anastasia, this is too much. From its appearance, it’s so expensive,” she said, still insisting not to accept it.
“It’s just a simple reward for your loyalty to serve me in this kingdom, Yana. If you don’t accept it, I won’t speak to you ever,” I threatened her. She looked hesitant but soon agreed to accept my gift.
“Thank you, Lady Anastasia. You don’t know how much this necklace would help me and my siblings. This would change our life,” she said while looking at the necklace.
She’s right. That’s expensive, and she can buy a house with that.
“Do what you want with that necklace, sell it. Buy anything you want with it and make sure to use it in a proper way,” I told her. She suddenly hugged me, and I heard her crying. I caressed her back.
“Thank you, Lady Anastasia, thank you so much. I know telling my gratitude isn’t enough. But thank you.” She wiped her tears. I smiled at her.
“Just be careful with it. Don’t let them know that you have that. Just sell it secretly, and I know where. I already talked to the owner of that jewelry store and referred you to him,” I told her. She was shocked, but I had already planned it.
I have known that man ever since, and he’s one of my dad’s trusted men.
I whispered to her the address, and she nodded her head.
After that, she went back to work.
“Lady Anastasia,” someone knocked on the door, and I already knew who it was. It’s Cassie. What made her come here?
Yana opened the door, and they entered inside. She’s with Liliane.
“Have you heard about it?” she asked immediately. I had no idea what she was talking about. Is there something wrong I didn’t know?
“Know about what?” I asked, confused. I didn’t know what she was talking about.
Liliane sat on the chair.
“The former king and queen have arrived at the kingdom.” As Liliane said that, I suddenly felt enraged. The king has arrived. The one who killed my father. He’s already here.
“I thought they couldn’t come,” I asked them, but they only shrugged their shoulders.
I can finally meet you, the former king, Uriel Nightshade. After all those years, I will never forget you, and I will never forgive you. You’re the reason for my dad’s death. After what my mom did to your son, saving his life… you have the guts to kill him?
You’re heartless. It seems like your son and yourself have similarities when it comes to that kind of attitude.
I never expected that you could order the council to kill my father that easily. You and your son have no shame.
I will never forget how I begged in front of you just to save my father, but you rejected me.
I was in deep pain because of what you did.
“Everyone didn’t expect them to attend the ball. Even I had no idea they’d be here with us tonight,” Liliane said. I forced a smile.
It seems like the ball won’t be that fun because they are already here.
