Chapter 42 Chapter 42: I Am Her
Chapter 42: I Am Her
Vishiea’s POV
Did Rachelle really think that she could blame me easily for her accusations? Even without Darius, I can clear my name.
“Did you just see how she's willing to kill that poor servant just because she couldn't get the answer she wanted? That's unfair. Killing someone without strong evidence is injustice.” Liliane said while we were walking around the kingdom.
They asked me out and decided to tour me around. I wanted to reject their offer because I am already familiar with the places here, however, to avoid any suspicions I should go with them.
“Rachelle was spoiled too much. Look how she disrespected the king with his decision.” Cassie said as we arrived in the garden. The roses were beautiful.
I really like flowers. I’ve always visited this garden here in the kingdom before to relax. And now it actually changed a lot. It became more gorgeous.
“Maybe that's because she knows that the king couldn't reject her,” Liliane responded. I picked some flowers and smelled them.
We used to visit this place together. Playing around where no one could see us.
This place became our meeting area. Unfortunately, he started to treat me differently. That's because he's already meeting someone else.
“You seemed to like this place? Those flowers,” Nathan arrived. How did he know we were here?
“Hmm, you know what? I forgot something. Can you accompany me?” Cassie suddenly asked Liliane.
“Yeah, I think I also forgot I have important matters to do right now. Lady Anastasia, we’ll just leave for the meantime, we’ll be back afterwards,” Liliane said. They didn't even wait for my response and just left. I even heard them chuckling. What's wrong with them?
Nathan cleared his throat. My attention shifted on him.
“What are you doing here?” I asked him. He walked towards me.
“I was just passing by when I noticed you here, Lady Anastasia,” he said as he stared at the flowers in my hand.
I was about to excuse myself when I noticed someone from afar.
What is he doing here? Is he hiding?
What is he planning to do?
“Lady Anastasia, are you alright?” Nathan asked me but I am busy looking at him hiding in the wall. I couldn't be wrong, it's Darius. I just saw him watching me from here.
How long had he been there? Is he investigating me? Wait, don't tell me he actually believes what Rachelle told him? That means he's suspecting me, that I sent that death threat. How pathetic.
“I’m fine, what are you saying earlier?” I asked him. He shook his head.
I can't be wrong, it's Darius. Fine, if that's the case he's trying to watch me then I’ll let him do that.
“I was just saying you seemed interested in this place,” he reminded me. I smiled but my gaze was still on the wall. I know you're still there, Darius. Hide and follow me whenever you want.
“Not really, this place reminded me of my Mother Kiara. She used to stay in the garden when she had free time. However, she can no longer do that because she's sick,” I answered him. He nodded his head and acted as if he understood me well.
“Your mother will gain her strength sooner, Lady Anastasia, just don't lose hope,” he said which made me look at him.
I smile genuinely hoping for my mother's fast recovery.
“She will, thank you for your concern,” I smiled at him. In my peripheral view Darius is secretly watching us. Then a silly idea came to me.
I walk closer to Nathan. He seemed surprised because of what I did but I showed him a friendly smile.
“Since Cassie and Liliane left, why don't you just tour me here? If that's fine with you, knight Nathan,” I said while placing the flowers on the pot.
He nodded his head and we started walking.
“This place is actually better than before. I was surprised to find out that it's your first time to visit here,” he started a conversation. I can't let him notice that I knew this place so I have to be careful.
“Well, I prefer to stay in our home. I was also having second thoughts about whether to attend this festival but my mother insisted. That's why I have no other choice. Unfortunately, I wasn't aware that this very respected kingdom actually had impulsive leaders.” I told him. He didn't get mad but instead he only showed a grin.
“Believe it or not, a kingdom would always have something that could ruin it. Well, I want to apologize on behalf of the kingdom for disappointing a stunning and gorgeous woman,” he uttered. I smiled. I thought Nathan is just a serious boring man but I was wrong.
“You shouldn't be the one to ask for forgiveness. Now may I ask you something?” I told him. He got curious but soon agreed.
“Anything, you can ask anything and I will answer it to the best of my knowledge,” he said as we stopped in front of the library.
We entered inside and just like what I am expecting, it's huge.
“It's about the King's fiancé. Well, about the other day, she just accused me of sending her that death threat. I think she hated me that much. She always gets mad when she sees me. Is she really always like that?” I asked him as I started to pick some books.
“Well, the king's fiancé indeed has an unpleasant character. However, it seems like the king's fiancé hated you for a reason,” he said as he opened a page of a book. My forehead knotted, acting like I didn't know what he meant.
“What do you mean? I can't remember anything I did to make her mad at me aside from that game,” I told him. He let out a deep sigh and looked at me.
“You seem unaware, Lady Anastasia. I think she actually hated you because you look like the king's mate. You look like Vishiea,” he said, saying my name.
I was stunned because I am not expecting him to say that. I force a smile. I am Vishiea, Nathan. It's me...
“Well, everyone is saying that. Unfortunately, I don't know who Vishiea is. Do we really look alike? I just wish I saw Vishiea so she could explain to me why that is. Bitch Rachelle hated her so much.” I told him. After that, we heard a loud noise on our right side. When I checked on it I saw someone running. Did he just follow us here?
“It seems like your dog is guarding you, Lady Anastasia,” Nathan said which made me laugh. He felt that someone was actually following us.
