Chapter 46: I Should Have Gone For The Uncle

He wasn’t upset because he felt that if she rejected him, then his sister was wrong; she didn’t want to use him for revenge.

“I can’t…” Alexa stuttered. He was her ex-husband’s uncle, and no matter how she tried to look at it, it wasn’t right.

“Why? Is it the age difference? Or my disability?”

“No, of course not... Uhm, I have a boyfriend,” Alexa blurted.

Hance’s eyes widened in shock. He felt like all the blood in his body was drained. He had never seen her with a man, so how come she had a boyfriend?

“Are you saying this to push me away?”

“Of course not." Her voice became awkward when she said, “I have a boyfriend.”

“You do? What’s his name?”

"Aaron,” she called the first name that came to mind, “We love each other so much; goodbye.” Then she hurried out of his suite.

Alexa hurried out of the hotel, stopped a cab, and got in. She immediately texted Lydia, [Where are you?]

It was so hard for her to control her breathing. “Did he just ask me to be his girlfriend?” she asked in disbelief.

“Does he like me?”

[At Aaron’s bakery]

Lydia replied.

The car stopped in front of the bakery, and Alexa rushed in. She found Lydia sitting in a corner alone, so she hurried to her.

“Did you send Norman off already?” asked Lydia.

“Mr. Williams asked me to be his girlfriend,” she blurted at once. The news was too heavy for her to keep in her heart.

“What???” Lydia stood up in disbelief and then looked around the bakery before she pulled Alexa to sit.

“How did this happen?”

“He uhm, he invited me over for coffee and told me that I made his heart flutter.” She clutched her chest as a smile crept on her lips.

“Why are you smiling?”

“He likes me.” She didn't know why she was smiling, but there was a point in life where she had wished for this.

“Wait, you accepted him?”

“No, I think I should have... but he is Josh’s uncle,” she pouted, and Lydia placed a knock on her head.

“Is that your reason?”

“The man is older than you; he is what we consider a sugar daddy.”

“And he might just want to use you to satisfy his wants; think about that instead,” Lydia scoffed.

Alexa had a sad look. “It makes sense,” she thought. Why will a man like Mr. Williams suddenly find interest in her? It could only mean he wanted to use her as a fling.

“What did you tell him?”

“I told him that I had a boyfriend.”

“You have a boyfriend?” Lydia was confused. “I lied, and I said Aaron was my boyfriend.”

"Smart,” Lydia chuckled, and then they both received a message from Sarah.

“Come home now!!!”

Lydia pouted, “What does she want now?” She pouted as they both left the bakery and walked home. When they arrived, they saw a truck parking their luggage, and the landlord was in front.

“Hey…” Lydia hurried to the landlord and asked, “Are you seriously driving us?”

“Let him be; I was the one who parked your stuff,” Sarah said, and they stared at her, confused.

“Your father has a house here; I went there last time to clean it up. You will both move there,” Sarah explained, and Lydia’s eyes widened in shock.

“Father has a house here?”

“Yes, we used to live here, but we locked down the house when we left."

“Father had a house, and you let me pay rent for years?” She hissed in disbelief.

“You said you wanted to be independent,” her mother scoffed. Alexa walked in and saw that all her clothes were already transferred outside.

“Get in, let’s go,” Sarah said, and they both walked into the car, which drove away. They couldn't argue to stay because even the landlord didn't want them there.

As soon as they left, the landlord dialed a number, and it got connected: “They left the house already; can I get my balance now?”

Kira was in a hotel with Josh as they now met secretly. Josh received a call from the person he had hired: “Alexa has been kicked out. Are you satisfied now?”

“She must be homeless now, so great,” she chuckled.

“The workers received money gifts just yesterday, so I don't think they will be homeless or at least hungry,” Josh explained, and Kira frowned.

“Do you see Alexa getting attached to your uncle? She is a slut.”

“My uncle won't like someone like her, so she could try all she wants,” Josh scoffed, though he knew that something was up between them.

“No, he had sent me off the ship because of her. We need to tell him about Alexa’s real personality.”

“And what is her real personality?” Josh raised a brow, confused. He knew Alexa didn't have any bad traits, and he also had a little regret for divorcing her so abruptly.

“She is manipulative and sly.”

Josh chuckled and wore his wristwatch before he stared at Kira on the bed. “Are you describing your personality?”

“What do you mean?”

“See, I already lost my role as CEO, and I now work under someone else. So I better return to work,” then he turned to leave when she jumped down the bed and held him.

“The new CEO is trying to cancel our partnership; can you do something about it?” She pouted, and Josh chuckled. Just now he came to his senses.

“Mother was right; you just want to help your father’s company. Maybe we shouldn't meet too often anymore.” Then he walked out of the hotel room; she couldn't go after him because she wasn't dressed.

“Such a fool,” she said, pulling the sheets angrily.

“Maybe I should have gone for the uncle; I need this deal to become chairwoman; Josh is such a waste.”
