Chapter 77

Will's POV

Making my way to my office I have a hope that Jace has good information to report. Walking in he was standing next to my desk waiting for me. “Thank you for waiting. I know I haven't been available this week, but the queen is getting better so I should be able to return to regular activities. So what have you found out about the book that was stolen from the queen? Did the witches give you anything?” I asked.

“No sir, they wouldn't say a word keeping silent the whole time. I've got our local witch coming in to try extracting some information from them. Also you need to know that your father is hiding the vampire prince in the basement behind his office. One of the maid said they heard some loud noises coming from his office. Apparently he left his hidden door ajar and she seen the prince beaten up pretty bad. I'm not sure what your dad is thinking, but I am finding out through some of the back channels I have. Lysa and Kenna haven't tried to leave, but Kenna has asked to speak with you. This could be about why the witches showed up like they did,” Jace said giving me his report. Reading it over I had hoped to take care of the prince on my own, but it looks like father is trying to use him for something. I wonder if Kenna knew what my father might be needing him for.

“Lets go see Kenna and Lysa,” I said walking out of my office to the ambassodors wing where they were being held.

Kenna's POV

This was far better then being stuck in those dungens and Lysa didnt look so dragged down now. I have told her a hundred times now that I wasn't upset with what she did as it was out of survival which I know all too well. Holding her in my arms as we sit next to the window was nice since there was no demands on either of our time. I heard foots steps approach the door and Will's voice on the other side as the guard opens the door. Him and Jace walk in seeing where we were we both sit up to greet the King.

“I had hoped you would stop by today. Lysa has wanted to speak with you as well so after our talk please give her your time, “ I said moving to sit on one of the couches present. They sat on the other one across from us Will speaking, “Of course, I planned to speak with her anyways but it is good to know you care enough to ask for her. I have some questions that need answers sooner rather then later. First off why did your mother want the book Kai had so badly?”

“One there is more to that book then you think. That book has many spells put on it for each creature that has use of it. For witches it tells all our history and has hidden spells on the pages some good some rather destructive. Knowing my mother she knew that what ever spells she found would be useful to her. I have yet to read the book so I don't know what spells she found. I only know that she had or has it. Before you moved us she had portalled me to her rooms before sending me back hoping for a deal with the former alpha, but he didn't come down to the cells you did, “ I said letting him know my mother was trying to plan over her plans to be sure of her success. He leans back asking, “Then what was her main plans before the book? She said you have a destiny for the witches. What did she mean by that?”

I sighed having to bring up bad memories but I explained that a prophecy was giving to the witches a long time ago that a new age of Originals would come about and that the witches Originals would play a huge part. With the knowledge given to each bloodline of Originals and not the mass's only a select few new about this. I didn't know how many actual Originals there were or the male to female ratio which was why the witches needed an Original of a specific line, say the Elves.

His face harden when he heard this. “So your telling me my mate was nothing more then a stepping stone to ultimate power? What made your mother believe that Kai would ever give up one of her children even if she told her to? She doesn't know Kai or what she's willing to do. It scares me how far she'll go to protect the people she considers hers,” Will said looking frustrated himself. Lysa shifted next to me leaning forward to say, “Will Kai has always been this way. I may not have liked her, but she always protected the people she thought of as hers. She won't risk herself unless its a last resort. Why are you worried about this now?”

“You have to promise not to get mad, okay? After the last time I tried to bring my good news you about ripped off the doors of the living room. So stay calm, “ he said as she nodded, “Kai's pregnant. We are unsure of how many yet, but her energy levels dropped two weeks ago when she did the spells on this room for you. She has since gained her strength back and is trying to get out of bed trying to get back to her work.” Lysa's emotions weren't anger or envy she was mixed with happiness and sadness as it sunk in that her time to be his was never going to happen. She took deep breath saying, “Well.... I can't say I'm surprised. You never waited for anything.”

He laughed hearing her reply saying, “I would have liked to of waited a couple years before the first child, but with how things are progressing its probably for the best.” I leaned forward at that moment saying, “So the Council gave you my dowry and the book?” Looking me in the eyes he said, “They didn't have a choice with the elite Elvin warriors I sent to retrieve them. They'll wither give it to them or be wiped out. I am done playing the schemes and tricks. I want you and Lysa installed as the next Clan leaders for the Witches. I will give you the backing you need to ascend to the position.”

Thinking about this I said, “Whats the catch? What are you wanting in return for putting us in charge?” Looking to Jace he had him walk to me with a contract handing it to me to look over. He was reasonable in his demands except for one thing, “You want our first born? How did you know we could have children?”

“The goddess has insured Lysa will have your children. You can ask her yourself or you can ask your Goddess Diana and she'll tell you,” he said confidently. “You won't turn them against their parents will you?” I asked needing to know this. “Of course not. Since you both bare the mating mark this makes you my sister in law. I would never hurt family, unless they struck first. I am still the Alpha King,” he said reminding us of his duty.

Looking to Lysa who whispered in my mind, Its okay. He's a better person then your mother lead you to believe. Our child would be lucky to have him as an uncle full time. “Alright I can agree to your terms. Where's a pen?” I asked as Jace produced a pen. I rapped knock came at the door and Lysa's twin brother Phillipe came striding in. He took one look at Lysa and I then to Will saying, “The witches are demanding to see Kenna.”
