Chapter 1: The Loss of Her Child

In the delivery room of the largest hospital in Jincheng, Xia Weiwei was screaming in pain. Tightly clutching the bedspread underneath, she felt tearing pain from her lower body and couldn't stop shaking all over.

God, it hurt so much!

Grinding her teeth in pain till her lips ruptured, Xia Weiwei pushed hard under the doctor's instruction. This was her long-awaited child, the child of her and Luo Chejue!

Jue. Xia Weiwei turned to look at the door in anticipation. How she hoped that Jue could have been with her at this very moment!

Blood gushed out from her open legs. A nurse noticed her distraction and said: "There's no one outside. If you go on like this, your child will be in danger."

Xia Weiwei's pale lips revealed her frustration and self-mockery. Right, how would he have come? He hated her to the core. Even though this was his child, he would not bother to come and have a mere look.

All she had now was this child, and nothing should happen to the child!

"Ah---"

Xia Weiwei pushed with all her might, trying to bring her child to the world. Her face was crimson with exertion and her body slightly bent due to the effort.

Finally, feeling a relief from her lower body, Xia Weiwei fell back onto the bed, as if all her strength had been drained and, panting weakly, she heard a baby's cry.

A soft smile appeared on her face, and she twitched her lips with effort: "My baby... Let me see it..."

The nurse was just about to put the child next to her, someone suddenly came in and snatched the child away.

Xia Weiwei stared at her own younger sister Xia Mo. She struggled to sit up but couldn't muster the strength.

The doctors and nurses who had delivered her baby all stepped out.

"Dear sister, how come you've got such luck? It's a boy!" Holding the baby, Xia Mo smiled sweetly. But her following words made the pupils of Xia Weiwei shrink.

"But your luck ends today. It's a pity that this child wouldn't be able to see tomorrow's sun, though he's just born."

The innocent baby suddenly burst out crying. Xia Weiwei's voice was hoarse and urgent: "What do you want? Let go of my child. This is also Jue's son!"

"So what? You killed Jue's mother. Do you think he would still care about this little bastard you just gave birth to?" Xia Mo scorned.

"I did not!" Xia Weiwei shouted at the top of her voice.

This had been the pain of her heart! Her mother and Jue's mother were bosom friends, and she and Jue were betrothed in infancy. She had been in love with him for eight years, and thought that she would have been the happiest bride in the world, but the sudden bad news had turned her world upside down.

Jue's mother died unexpectedly and all had pointed the finger of suspicion at her, but she had no reason to harm Jue's mother.

When everyone thought their engagement would be annulled, Jue still married her and she happily thought that he still believed her, which was in fact the beginning of her real nightmare. The humiliation and ridicule on their wedding night tore Xia Weiwei's heart to pieces, and Jue had been tormenting her every day ever since. One day, her father even suddenly announced to the public that he would cut off his father-daughter relationship with her, and said that it was actually Xia Mo who was betrothed to Jue originally. Everyone came to the sudden conclusion that it was Xia Weiwei's trick that had resulted in the death of Jue's mother.
