Chapter 8

*****Axel's POV******

To say that I was excited about having my mate home with me was an understatement... I don't remember ever feeling content like this in my life.

I don't know how she feels about me being 138 years old yet... or if she even believes me for that matter (I would be 138 in human years, but to us, I'm still really young for a Lycan) and to put it into more context my father is 714 and my mother is slightly younger at 587.

The years just work differently here.

I smirk at remembering the look on her face, glancing back over to were she was sitting on the sofa as she stares aimlessly out of the window still, admiring the garden.

She was perfect... but she needs proper care being a human and all. I know that there's a lot more to her than what meets the eye but I'll get there eventually.

I've never felt like this with anyone. I usually only enjoyed being around some of my family, Nolan and Grey and out with my inner circle, I hated everyone. I didn't give anybody else a second thought after that.

Dani was making me feel emotions that I had never felt in all my years of living... it was strange. One minute I felt happy then the next I was overly protective and could kill someone for doing as little as looking at her. I kept that side to me hidden though, for now.

I didn't want to scare her nor did I want everyone knowing what she was to me.

I have to phone my Mom and Dad and invite them over tomorrow to share the news of my mate... they would have the best advice on what I should do.

I refuse to tell them such tender information over the phone, especially with my mate being a human... I didn't even know how they would react.

I hold the phone to my ear after dialling in their number, waiting as it rings a few times before my mother's soft voice comes through the phone.

"Axel?" She questions, knowing that it's me after seeing my office number appear on her end.

"Yeah... is Dad there with you?" I question, glancing over to Dani to see her staring back at me.

She quickly looks away, as a blush begins to coat her cheeks from being caught staring again...

"No darling but I can fetch him for you now? Is it important?" Her tone wavers unsteady towards the end as she can probably sense that something drastic has happened.

She knows I don't call much... They don't live far from here, maybe a forty-five minute drive or so which results in a lot of family dinners or garden party's that I can't protest to.

"Yeah it's important... If Dad is busy then you don't need to get him right now but I need you both to come over here tomorrow... I have something to tell you that I can't do over the phone." I state.

"...Axel if you've gotten some random girl pregnant without waiting for your mate... I swear boy i'll smack yo-"

"Fucking hell Mom... no I haven't... but it's still important so will you both just come over here tomorrow?" I complain, feeling accused that she thinks I would get some random bitch pregnant.

"Axel Hunt! If you swear at me over this phone one more time... you wouldn't do that to me in person boy so don't test me on here!" She scolds again, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Will you both just come tomorrow around lunch?" I ask bluntly.

"...of course we will... I'll see you tomorrow... but you better wash that mouth out with soap before I get there!" She makes sure to get one last dig in before we say our goodbyes and hang up.

Mothers...

Just as I place the phone down my elevator doors open revealing thing 1 and thing 2 as they strut through the open doors and in to my office comfortably.

"Axel bro... you'll never believe what this girl text me today when we were in the car!" Nolan blurts out a laugh, causing me to raise an eyebrow since he hadn't yet noticed Dani who was sitting in the far corner.

Grey however, being the smarter one, knew she was sitting over there from the second they entered.

"Prepare for this right... so we were just talking about normal shit to begin with because she was at this theme park and was telling me she was bored... then she wrote this blunt text to me saying 'face ride?' and I was getting fucking excited man... so I wrote back 'Hell yeah!' and so I asked her when she was free to meet up..." Nolan practically snorts out the first part of the story, reading the texts out loud, as Grey shakes his head from behind him probably having already heard this story multiple times by now.

Knowing Nolan he's probably already told it to the full pack by now...

"So I thought I was getting lucky since I had only spoken to her for around ten minutes on the drive home right... and then she wrote back... 'Oh! I meant to write fave ride not face ride... I meant to ask you what your fave ride was at Bucks Park not if you wanted a face ride'... can you fucking believe that! I thought I was getting some action man! and she's wanting to discuss the rides at Bucks Theme-park!" Nolan doubles over in laughter now, as I divert my gaze to Dani after hearing a low giggle leave her lips which caused me to smirk.

As soon as the sound escapes, Nolan shoots upright and is immediately staring over to her with his mouth opening and closing like a fish - the tears from his laughing still gliding down his face in the process.

I watch as his face pales in colour, the embarrassment clearly sinking in after telling me his whole story without realising she was in here.

"Uh... sorry Axel I didn't know you had company... you could have stopped me at the start you know..." He grumbles, glaring at me, causing both myself and Grey to now laugh loudly.

He's such an idiot.

"I'm Nolan..." He offers a small wave over to Dani, as I bite back a growl at their harmless interaction - my wolf side becoming protective since she wasn't marked yet.

The only one who has figured out that she's my mate so far is Grey. I mean, I don't expect anything less from him since he's my Beta and he's quite clued up on everything.

Nolan however, is a blabber mouth. The less he knows the better! He's been like that since we were kids.

Even way back when we were all seven he told everybody in our play group that my Mom was marrying Greys Dad and that they were going to be having a witch baby... obviously the whole thing wasn't true, but Nolan just overheard my Mom talking to Greys Dad about one of her wolf friends who had married this man - their daughter being born a witch.

Nolan and his seven year old brain, however, took that story and told everyone the wrong information which resulted in a long conversation between all of our parents - my father being furious actually thinking there was an affair going on when it was just Nolan and his rumours...

For another example, I remember back when Grey broke his leg during the time that we sneaked up the mountains to play... not to mention that we all decided to lie to our parents that day and say that we were going to the park... but you can only guess who was the first to run and tell Greys Mom where we had all been that day and how he had broke his leg? Nolan of course! Resulting in the three of us not being allowed outside for weeks due to us lying.

Nolan was harmless and probably the funniest guy I know, but what an idiot he is. He's great at fighting and training the pack to fight but brains isn't his strong suit...

"My family will be coming tomorrow, can you both go downstairs and let everyone know so that they can prepare the house for them and a few of the spare rooms incase they decide to stay." I tell Grey and Nolan as they both nod and head back for the elevator.

Once they are gone, I turn my attention back to Dani who seems a lot more relaxed.

"Julian will be here soon and I'm going to transfer some of my blood to you to help you heal faster ok? After that, I'll show you to the room and you can wash and change." I speak, walking across to sit on the sofa with her again.

"Yeah." She replies simply, as we both sit in comfortable silence waiting for my pack doctor to arrive.

Looking at her quietly sideways face, I was a little worried about the arrival of my parents.

They always ask me to wait for my mate.

Now I have found her, but she is......a human.

I am not sure if my parents will accept Dani as my mate.

But one thing I can be sure of.

I will never let her go.
