Chapter 63 Chapter 63
Nicholas kissed her lips again, tenderly.
“If you're not angry anymore, then stop crying,” he murmured. “Your eyes are swollen. Do you want me to feel guilty?”
His voice was deep and soft, almost caressing.
Caroline looked at him silently, lost in the dark depths of his eyes. Her heart fluttered, wandering, directionless.
And for a moment, she completely forgot the reason for the fight.
When Caroline returned to the dorm, Tania was still packing.
As soon as she saw her come in, she ran up to her with a mischievous smile.
“Oh, honey, you're back so soon! Why didn't you stay a little longer with Mr. Perfect? At the beginning of a relationship, you have to take advantage of it to cultivate your feelings, you know?” she said loudly, on purpose, almost as if announcing gossip.
Caroline immediately realized why.
Fernanda and Ianca were sitting at the table, their faces cold, pretending to be uninterested.
Ah, of course.
Tania was teasing her on purpose.
Caroline decided to play along.
“Well, he wanted me to stay, but I let him go.”
“Why?” Tania's eyes widened. “You're a newlywed couple! Don't you want to be together 24 hours a day?”
“Twenty-four hours? That's too much.” Caroline smiled, touching her nose. “I think a little distance is good. It keeps the relationship fresh.”
“That's true,” Tania agreed, nodding enthusiastically. “But for a man as incredible as the Male God, it's good to keep an eye on him.”
You know, right? A handsome, rich man attracts trouble. If any of those shameless women show up, things could get complicated.
As she said this, Tania glanced directly at Fernanda.
Caroline's smile almost slipped.
Ah, Tania... a born provocateur.
Fernanda, who was surfing the internet, slammed her mouse on the table and turned around furiously.
“Tania, what are you talking about?” Ianca crossed her arms, her voice cold.
“Are you insulting us? You better explain yourself. Who are you calling shameless?”
“Why are you trying to pick a fight with me?”
Tania had always been a carefree and cheerful person who rarely feared anyone. She mocked Fernanda. “I haven't mentioned your names once. Why are you two so sensitive and thinking I'm referring to you? Or did I accidentally hit the nail on the head, shattering your fragile hearts?” “You haven't said a word, but do you think we're so foolish that we don't understand what you're trying to imply?” Fernanda gritted her teeth.
“You're nothing but a lackey; what right do you have to talk about us like that? No matter what happens, we're a hundred times better than a lackey like you.”
“You're always talking about your Prince Charming, do you really think he cares about you?” Fernanda continued, casting a look of contempt. “I think you're the shameless one here.” You also tried to seduce Edward, but now that he's not interested, you've changed your target?
Fernanda looked her up and down and laughed with disdain.
"I advise you to give up. Not even Edward was interested in you; this prince charming is out of the question.
With that, they looked at Caroline with a mocking expression. “Caroline, I suggest you be less careless and watch out for your friend. She's more cunning than she looks. You'd better not regret it when your man suddenly leaves you.”
“Fernanda, shut your mouth!” Tania reacted, raising her fist.
Tania had always been impulsive and could barely tolerate Fernanda's provocations. She advanced; Fernanda rolled up her sleeves. The fight started immediately.
Tania was not as strong as Fernanda and was soon immobilized. Both began to pull each other's hair, and Fernanda retaliated with equal force.
Seeing that Tania was at a disadvantage, Caroline could not stand idly by. Tania had gotten into a fight because of her. “Fernanda, stop it!” Caroline was furious when she saw a scratch on her friend's face and clenched her fist.
Ianca realized that Caroline was going to intervene and joined Fernanda's side. The fight between two women turned into a confrontation between four. The room plunged into chaos.
Half an hour later, the commotion caught the attention of the attendant and the counselor.
“You girls are very brave! Are you really fighting here instead of going to sleep? Are you rebelling?” the counselor shouted, furious. “Tell me, who started this? You'd better come forward!”
The counselor's tone frightened Caroline and Tania, but Fernanda and Ianca remained indignant. Everyone had injuries and bruises, but it was clear that Fernanda and Ianca were in worse shape: scratched faces, messy hair. Caroline had only a scratch on her neck.
If the attendant hadn't arrived in time, Caroline would certainly have completely overpowered them.
“Counselor, it was Tania who started all this mess,” Fernanda declared, touching the wounds on her face. “She was scolding us, and she was the one who started the aggression. I couldn't just stand there and let her hit me, right?”
“You're talking nonsense!” Tania retorted, staring at her angrily. “Did I say anything about you? You're the one who felt guilty and thought I was referring to you. Stop lying shamelessly; you were the one who started saying all those bad things first. If you hadn't made everything seem so horrible, would I have wanted to hit you? You deserve to be beaten.”
“Counselor, did you hear that?” Fernanda stood her ground.
“It's because your dirty mouth deserves a beating!” Tania replied defiantly.
The counselor took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure.
“All right, stop arguing! This is no time to keep fighting!” she ordered. “Tania, in that case, were you the one who started the fight?”
“I was,” Tania admitted, lifting her chin.
She had the courage to admit her mistakes.
“Very well, since you started this, then you are the one to blame,” said the counselor in a stern tone. “In any case, you should never hit your classmates. That is terrible behavior.”
“Counselor, I...” Tania tried to explain.
“Enough, I don't want to hear any more explanations,” interrupted the woman impatiently.
“You are going to run three laps around the track right now. When you're done, write a thousand-word reflection and hand it in to me.”
She then turned to the others.
“As for the three of you... She is wrong, but so are you. Go back, reflect on your actions, and hand in a reflection tomorrow.”
The counselor sighed, crossing her arms. “All right, you can leave now.”
Tania was indignant.
“Counselor, why don't Fernanda and Ianca have to run on the track too?”
The counselor gave her a cold look.
“You are the main culprit. If you don't think that's fair, I can add two more laps to your punishment.”
Tania was speechless.
