Chapter 95 Power couple moves
Chapter 95:Power Couple Moves
The Medical Students' Week was gradually coming to an end. The only activity left was the dinner night to bring the week to a close.
In the past, Fab hadn't cared much. He usually just paid his dues but didn't bother attending the dinner.
Golden had attended the dinner once, and Linda and her croonies had played a prank on her so she stopped attending altogether.
For Alex, it was going to be her first since transferring to OCU.
The students made their way to the common room. They had a meeting to discuss the theme of this year's dinner.
Alex, Golden, and Fab made their way to the common room, gisting and laughing to a private joke.
They stepped in and found a place to sit behind. Golden spotted Allan sitting in front with the exco's and smiled at him.
He smiled back at her, before turning his attention back to what the treasurer was saying.
“For the benefit of those who are just joining us, we have decided to do something different this year.” Linda said.
She was the director of socials and was in charge of coming up with ideas for their events.
“So I'm thinking for this year's theme, we should do old-school for a change.
I expect everyone to dress on theme and anyone who doesn't dress accordingly will not be allowed inside the venue.” Linda said and looked to Clara the VP to carry on.
“We have secured a venue, although it is small but we can make do. We have about $10,000 in our purse but that's barely enough to cover for the decoration of the venue, so we are welcoming donations.” Clara said.
The last time Golden donated for their Frat party, she had been tricked and stood up.
But that felt like a decade ago. This time around she was in a good place and had friends she could attend an event with.
She didn't feel bad donating for this dinner and was about to when Fab beat her to it.
“I'll take care of the venue and the logistics that comes with it. Send me an email with the details of what you want and I will forward it to an event planner.
Or if you prefer, I can just send the planner to you and you can discuss what you want with him.” Fab said casually.
That earned him gaze of admiration from everyone around.
“Since Fab would be handling the Venue, I can as well send you a chef to cater for the dinner. You decide what you want on the menu and it would be handled.
I will also take care of the drinks. Make a list of the type of drinks you want and the quantity and the head of the catering services would take care of it.” Golden said.
“Wow! Thanks to Golden and Fab, our power couple, everything is sorted out.
I guess all we have to do is look pretty and show up.” Clara said with a very big smile. She could always count on Golden to pull up big. And thanks to her, Fab was finally making big moves.
The meeting continued and everything was settled. Someone moved for the adjournment of the meeting and it ended.
Allan stayed back to discuss a few modalities with his exco's while Golden and co left.
As they left, Allan received a message.
Golden: “Hey boo, I'm going to Chinatown to pass the night. I see you are still busy. Text me when you are done.”
He immediately responded.
Allan: “Okay babes, have fun but think of me while you are having fun. Would let you know when I'm done.”
Linda was sitting close to Allan. When the first message dropped, her eagled eyes caught it as Allan's phone lit up.
She was right after all. Golden was flirting with Allan. Fab hadn't believed her when she told him his girlfriend was flirting with other guys.
Now it was confirmed. She saw Allan's reply to the text. They were clearly having an affair.
Linda was overjoyed. She finally had something to use to nail Golden. All she needed to do now was find a way to get a copy of the message exchange and she would expose them.
How dare Golden flirt with Allan? And what's up with Allan, what game was he playing now?
Linda didn't believe for a second that Allan was into Golden. At best, he was just playing with her.
He has never been involved with anyone before and if he must, he should be with someone like her not Fatty Nixon.
When Allan wasn't looking, she took a screenshot of the message and smiling to herself, she put away her phone.
The day for the old-school night finally arrived. Fab and Golden came through like they said they would.
Fab had changed the venue to a bigger one. He made some calls and booked one of the exquisite ballrooms in a five star hotel.
The ballroom was decorated in an old-school theme. It had disco balls hanging and small music discs hanging down everywhere from the ceiling.
The dance floor was decorated in a black and white marble design that had small discs on them.
The DJ stand was decorated with a big cassette player and a big mic stand.
There were chairs and tables at the far corner of the ballroom. Each table had a cassette player as the center piece and a music disc as a plate holder.
There was a buffet table with every delicacy imaginable. For Appetizers & Snacks there was Potato Skins loaded with cheese, bacon, and sour cream. 7-Layer Dip; classic dip with beans, guacamole, cheese, olives, and tomatoes.
Pigs in a Blanket/Hawaiian Smokies; cocktail sausages wrapped in dough or simmered in grape jelly sauce. And Cheese Ball with crackers and fruit.
For the Main Dishes they had Sloppy Joes, Cold pasta with a creamy dressing, mini quiches. And French Bread Pizza.
For Desserts & Sweets, they had a Retro Candy Bar stock up with Pixie Stix, Pop Rocks, Mary Janes, and Bubble Gum Cigarettes.
They also had Jell-O Poke Cake, Pudding Pops and a Pac-Man Cake.
For drinks, they went for the classic Bartles & Jaymes. A Hawaiian Punch, Cranberry Fizz Punch and Long Island Iced Tea.
The party had everything. It was like stepping into a retro 80's party.
