Chapter 151: Chapter: They are watching us

I arrived at Hades' office and stopped in front of it, knocking twice on the door.

"Happens."

Those words were starting to be my favorite.

I turned the knob and entered, my eyes went without hesitation to Professor Parker, he was sitting behind his desk, his brow furrowed, his glasses covering his face making him look much more intellectual, the shirt he was wearing clung deliciously to his muscular arms.

I stayed without breath.

This man always left me shocked, as if he always had a spotlight around him.

"Good morning, Professor Parker." I whispered.

He raised his golden eyes at me and pulled up the corner of his mouth making him look much more interesting and attractive.

"Good morning, Miss Queen, sit down," he indicated, pointing to the chair in front of me.

Why so serious?

It seemed strange to me.

Even so, I listened to him and took a seat in front of his desk. He took off his glasses, leaving them on one side of the desk and crossed his hands, leaning forward a little, his gaze fixed on mine.

...Calm down Nube, but what's wrong with you?

We were a short distance away, sitting face to face, and I already wanted to pounce on him, but I noticed that Hades didn't move from his seat as if he had a restriction.

"Did you hear what's happening?" He asked.

"Andrew and Professor Pompeye?" I assumed, he nodded his head, "well yes, everyone talks about that. Do you think it's true?"

I was still wondering if everything was an invention of Andrew who was with Professor Pompeye or if it was real that they had been discovered.

"Yes," Hades said, he seemed to have no doubt that it was a lie.

"You have no doubts," I commented.

"No," Hades replied.

"What happened to Professor Pompeye?" I asked curiously.

"She's in the audit," he said, "I think she'll need a lawyer."

"Oh." I murmured, she was in serious trouble.

Hades remained expressionless and silent but this silence was different, as if he was preparing to tell me something.

Oh Lord.

"What happen?" I asked confused, it seemed strange to me that he didn't even approach me, he was just sitting there, looking at me being handsome, as if I were just another student.

He cleared her throat and said without flinching:

"There are cameras in the offices."

What?

"Oh," I whispered, sitting up straight, feeling myself blush.

One moment...

"Were they always?" I asked, my heart racing, my breathing uncontrolled as I remembered all the times we fucked here.

"No, they installed them this morning," he said, "they don't listen to us either, they just see us."

I let out a sigh, I had been very scared.

"Okay," I said running a hand through my hair, Hades smiled a little.

"I was thinking of quitting, Nube," he said, "but now things are very tense."

"Give up college?" I asked confused.

"Yes," he said and added to my surprised face: "I don't really need the pay, and I wanted to start a relationship with you without having to hide from each other anymore."

I smiled feeling my cheeks blush at the sweetness of his words, Hades Parker really wanted a future with me; to be a normal couple, without running the risk of what happened to Professor Pompeye happening to them.

Wait...why was he speaking in the past tense?

"Did you want to?" I asked confused.

Hades continued saying:

"It would raise a lot of suspicion to resign right now and then see us together, we have to wait at least a little."

I understood his point of view, this thing with Andrew and Professor Pompeye was quite a scandal, I mean, it could have been us.

I licked my lips, waiting didn't sound so bad, I mean we'd been doing it for a while and if we just waited a little longer so we could really start to formalize it, it was fine with me.

I was excited to start a life with Hades Parker, even if it was just to formalize our courtship.

"There are people who know about us, my family, Saraelí, your brother," Hades continued, "and that is why we must keep our distance."

"In classes?" I asked, I mean, I didn't understand why they influenced this, it wasn't like they were going to say anything about us.

But Hades shook his head and said:

"In general."

I didn't like where this was coming from.

"In general?" I repeated, "I don't understand."

Or rather, he didn't want to understand.

"We won't be able to see each other, Nube, or go out together," Hades said, "not for at least a few weeks until this matter of Paula and Andrew is forgotten."

I looked at him in disbelief, I stopped breathing and felt like he was leaving me begging for this time and space.

Of course for compelling reasons but he felt just as ugly.

"Weeks without seeing each other?" I whispered, "Are you fucking with me?"

I felt like I had fought hard to get to the gold and then it was snatched from my hands.

Hades avoided my gaze by leaning back in his chair, I didn't know if this was worse for me or for him.

"They're evaluating us," he explained, daring to look at me again, "so it's better that we keep our distance."

Why did it feel like it was an excuse?

"You're leaving me," I whispered, feeling my eyes crystallize.

"No," Hades said quickly, "I would never leave you alone, we have to give each other space."

He seemed to want to get up to approach me but he remembered the cameras and stayed still, he cleared his throat looking a little annoyed and then he took off one of his rings, placing it on the desk, taking care to look very disguised in front of the cameras.

"Take it," he said, "it's a promise ring, when this is all over, we're going to get married."

What?
