Deep inside the forest on the mountain lived a small group of people almost as they were tribal but truth is beyond that. They wanted secrecy and nothing like the dark  forest gave them that. They lived in their own culture and traditions but in reality they were the northern tribe everyone feared both man and wolves. Because of the powers moon goddess provides them. They flourished under alfa king Aidan who was their leader and someone who was destined to be great.

The children sat around the old lady  to hear about their tribe. It was a ritual they did and everyone loved the good old one. "So which story you want ", she asked them. "THE ONE ABOUT THE PROPHECY ", came the unanimous answer. She breathed a deep sigh as if she was waiting for them to say it. "You know there were 4 tribes of werewolves like us. Eastern,  Western,  Southern and lastly our Northern tribe. We are pretty much special compared to others because we are far too powerful and evolved. Unlike them we can control ourselves and shape shift only when we want but for them it is not easy. Similarly we can sense our soul mate and accept or reject them though it is highly inadvisable to reject our mate who the moon goddess has chosen for us". " We already know about this please tell us of the prophecy", one of them whined like a puppy. "Ok", the elder one breathed a dramatic sigh and continued. Kids were kids no matter human or werewolves. She was the oldest lady respectfully called the elder one, there were only a few like her old but wise. 

"The lone black wolf would win the ultimate war  so only brothers remain of Northern tribe", her eyes half closed. She was the only one alive among them who was present during the prediction. The oracle who made this prophecy was killed obviously and the tribe never had another oracle again. Another thing was that the birth of black wolves became so rare if one managed to arrive they never saw another light of the day. Most of them were dead by mysterious accidents. It was a no brainer they were killed by neighboring tribes and the war continued between the tribes. For every drop of blood from the Northern tribe a thousand more were drawn. Ever since the arrival of their new Alpha Aidan there was no stopping Northern tribe. But the Alpha himself never waged a single war only defended what's his.

It was only a rumor all these times but seeing a black wolf in action made all of them believe the prophecy except the one about whom it was written. He was raised in secret ever since they realized the importance of his life. So Alpha never knew love from his family. He was raised by keepers and had thought himself as an orphan. Keepers were humans who helped the wolves to contact the outside world. On his 16 th birthday his birth secret was revealed and he returned to the Northern tribe. But when his father was killed he shifted in front of his tribe and took his rightful place. Though only 16 he ruled the kingdom in the best possible manner. His mother died of grief which hurt him deeply.

The elder one took a big sip of her coffee which wasn't a luxury to them as they constantly went about the market and mingled with the locals, polite but distant. The Alfa had meetings with intelligence units and government officials; they knew the existence of shape shifters but had an alliance. Both helped each other and hunted occasional rogue or something unexplainable happen. It was a deal which both of them had kept.

Suddenly all become aware of their alpha who was on his way to greet them. Unlike stories they couldn't mind linking or communicating silently but in reality they didn't have to incase of a tight pack they could fight like one soul and body anyday. They are deeply aware of others; they could sense the other's emotions and feelings, especially in wolf form. They didn't behave strangely in New moon which  was another misconception people had about them. They usually gather together every night in wolf form especially warriors among them to protect the pack.

"Greetings Alpha, we are blessed indeed to be in your presence ", the elder woman said. She didn't have to kneel like others for meeting Alpha for the first time for being a senior member. The kids all had been looking to the ground being too young they haven't pledged their allegiance only then they have to follow the protocol. " Isn't it school time though I'm glad you are relaxing here? ", Alfa said. 

"But Alpha  today is Moon day", the children said unanimously. Alpha almost smiled at their response. He had forgotten that today is a special day almost holy to werewolves like him. Today good things are believed to happen like finding mates, babies and even getting engaged. He had nearly left all those thoughts now what he felt was pure numbness but he couldn't stop other's pleasures so he let them celebrate though he never participated in them not even the customary prayer dance which alfa had to do. 

"Alpha may I ask you a question please ", came a cheerful voice. He looked to find the owner of the voice carrying a bright smile; he didn't have a heart to say no. " What do you want to know ", he retorted. "How do you feel about the prophecy "? The boy questioned him. "What is your name boy"? Aidan asked.  The cheerful face suddenly wavered worrying he was about to be punished, he answered,  "my…. my….name…..Rob". Alpha was smiling inside remembering his own childhood very different yet the same." I think everyone makes our own destiny", with that he quickly turned around his heels and left the place. He was soon joined by his trustful partner and beta Tony. He acted both as a friend and his bodyguard.  

The kids watched in awe someday wishing to be like him, fearless and unbeaten the "Supreme" chief of Alphas he was destined to be someday. Right now he is the strongest leader of the Northern tribe and content to be just that. "So how old is he"? Came another curious question. " He is 100 years old", the elder one answered patiently . "He never had a mate all this time "? Another girl asked. " Actually he had met his soulmate 3 times", she answered. "What happened to her", the boy asked again. " It was believed that in  his case a rare thing happened. His soulmate reincarnated two more times. Each time she remembered less about her past life. Two times she had died accidentally. One time she was caught being disloyal to alpha.'' 

"Did she get any punishment? '' asked Rob. He was feeling sympathetic towards alpha. "No she passed away unknown causes ", she said reluctantly eager to direct conversation to pleasant topics. "Do you know werewolves get old only after they complete a life circle with their mate? Generally moon Goddess blesses them so they will have a fruitful life", she said. Alpha's case was a rare enigma. She prayed kids don't ask any untoward questions about his love life. 

"What's a life circle ", another question this time the  answer came from a girl among them. "It means getting married and having kids silly. I know this because my father found his mate when he was 70 then he married her. For women they get wolf form on their 18th birthday then only their mates are chosen. It's a match fixed between wolves. Boys get their wolf form on their birth but can shift for extended periods after 15 years or so", the girl paused. 

"If you know everything why are you sitting here ", scoffed Rob. "I will sit wherever I want Rob", she smirked at him. The irritated boy turned away. The elder one couldn't help but smile at their cute banter. She looked away for a second. It was  pretty peaceful here. Apart from a few rogue attacks there are hardly any incidents here. Nothing to worry for them so it won't last since it was predicted already that a big war between the tribes was coming and the Northern tribe would  be victorious under the leadership of Aidan. It was a very beautiful day especially with the ceremony tonight many good things are bound to happen. The good things won't last especially in the case of the Northern tribe; they had faced many challenges and still had a long way to go. With Aidan's aid they will. Meanwhile Alpha was in the middle of a conversation with government intelligence and he was suddenly interrupted.

"Alpha Aidan Sebastian is missing; he got some lead on the rogues apparently and he had crossed our boundary to catch him", Tony said breathlessly. "That idiot, why did he have to cross the border if they didn't kill him? I will" , with that he suddenly shifted to his wolf form and  ran,  the officials were a bit stunned but reacted calmly. It's not everyday one witnesses such a thing. 

His beta was following him closely and he called out to his stand by the army. They all answered and met him at his cabin. "Give me every bit of information we have ", he commanded. "Alpha we only know that Sebastian followed a lead only he knew what. We tried to stop him but he said he is not too sure about the lead to inform you…" he raised his hand to stop. "So what you are saying is that you let him go past boundaries with little information. This could cause a war. You know he is reckless. Let this be your final warning ", he burst out. "Alpha I think I know where he could go", it was none other than his boyfriend Brian. "Where", he asked. "He didn't want anyone to know but I got a blueprint from his office". He turned a piece of paper. Alpha immediately took it in his hands and opened it.

"I know where he is. If he hurry we could catch up. Inform the patrol that we are going on a hunt do not let this information out". He went ahead and walked with his beta his army joining him strong soldiers but none of them wore any arms they didn't have to. Nothing could injure them unless a silver bullet. That too couldn't kill them except it went for the heart. His army couldn't mindlink but they had been training for this since adulthood. They walked and breathed in the same manner.

They shifted once they reached close to the borders but they couldn't catch any scent. "What should we do? He answered, '' Keep on searching till we reach them ",. Everyone  split and went in different directions and Alfa decided to wait in the spot. "Alpha we are breaking our treaty if we go past where we are now", the general warned. Alpha took a big sigh ,"I have to Liam because the war will happen no matter what I choose to do. I want to save my brother ". He nodded his head in response. Alfa raised his head and took the scent again this time finding them. " I got him, we will go to the East and call back the others." With that he raced followed by his close guards.

Not a long time had passed they encountered Sebastian, unfortunately hurt but not too much. " "We were attacked  ", he said. "I can see that what do you expect coming here"? He barked at him. "Where are they"? he asked. "We don't know we were blind sided. I got information Western tribe was planning an attack." He raised his hands," You didn't care to tell me this information before coming charging here. A treaty that took years to form could have ended ", Alpha seethed at him. 

"Tell me who's attacked you ", Alpha asked. "We are not sure " , he said looking down. "Could be rogues also they don't belong to any tribes ", the general said. "Really Liam it's as if we have fallen down and hurt ourselves. No one cares enough to Avenge us", he said bitterly. "No need to moan Seb, consider this your last warning don't you dare repeat this again. We all are missing the ceremony , especially your boyfriend he wanted to propose to you today". Everyone cheered. "We are going back now that we have the missing lamb", Alpha announced.
