The Alpha King's Bride

Chapter 1

" Viona! Stop! Stop! You aren't shifting!", a loud panicking voice broke through the heavy air along with the thunderbolts, striking through the sky. Brian Rogers barked at his sister who sneaked out of the pack house again. This time, it was him who threatened to take her out.

How could he make her understand that it wasn't safe for her to hunt at all?

Viona Rogers pushed her curls aside frustratingly. Rage and annoyance flashed across her light red eyes. She didn't know for how long she had to restrain herself from hunting as per her wish. Brian subconsciously looked around. When he saw no one, relief took over his expression.

" Let's not wander anymore, Vi. You are losing control!", Brian called his sister with her adorable nickname. Pouting her luscious lips, she could only huff and follow her brother obediently. Growing up in the pack, Brian was the only one that held a soft spot. In this world, only Brian was the person that she could rely on in her darkest hours of life.

Rainford had strange weather. The rain came usually in unexpected times, always keeping the forest wet and wild. Although the wolves loved this juicy weather, it was difficult to live as a human being under those circumstances.

Not long after that, the siblings arrived at the back door of the pack house, assuming that everyone had gone to bed. There would be no one to notice their absence.

As the siblings stepped into the hallway, the lights were turned on surprisingly, leaving them frozen in their spots. Mr.Rogers, the Alpha of this pack and Viona's father appeared with a grimacing expression. His one look defined how pissed off he was at his children.

Brian was startled before the usual fight between the father and daughter had the chance to ignite,

" Dad, I can explain. It's not.. like.."

Brian's voice was cut off, with one signal from his father who wasn't interested in listening to his lies. His Alpha voice roared, bouncing against the high walls of the pack house,

" Viona Rogers, have you forgotten my rules for you? You weren't supposed to step your toe out of this house. And Brian..how could you support her?"

Unlike Brian, Viona didn't act submissive in front of her father. Her wolf was always dominating, sometimes suppressing the Alpha who held the powers above all the werewolves. Viona raised her chin high, admitting truthfully,

" We just went on a hunt, Alpha. That doesn't break the morality of your pack."

She never called him 'father'. Ever since she learned to talk, her subconscious told her that he didn't deserve to be her father who was responsible for her mother's death. Therefore, Mr.Rogers never developed a soft corner for her and hated the fact that she was more dominant than the rest of wolves which was an ultimate threat for him and his pack.

Furious over her blatant character, Mr.Rogers blurted, yelling at Viona who was a few feet away from him,

" Maybe if you had better concentrate on finding your mate, we wouldn't be so troubled for you. "

' Mate'!

This word caused all those heart-wrenching feelings that she never wanted to feel before. The scar was still so fresh in her heart that it made her suffocate. Clenching her fists on both sides, Viona gritted her words out,

" Aren't you ashamed to ask me about my mate?"

The atmosphere was filled with silence suddenly. Without any more words, Viona stormed upstairs, slamming the door shut to wake everyone in the pack house.

" You could have let her study in the university, Dad!", Brian tried to resonate with his father. He knew how impatient, and unruly his little sister was. After a bundle of restrictions fell into her life, she craved freedom more desperately.

Mr.Rogers shook his head, refusing, and changed the subject after finishing his talk with some servants,

" My pack's reputation comes first, Brian. You saw what happened when she went to attend the university. I can't take that big risk. Not anymore!"

His words left no room to discuss anymore. Brian could only sigh pitifully at his sister secretly. Mr.Rogers announced, checking the surroundings from time to time,

" The Alpha King will be here to visit the pack. You must represent yourself well in front of him."

Brian had a shocked expression. Baffling out, he blurted furrowing hard,

" Why.. why is he coming to our pack?"

Mr.Rogers shortly replied, plopping on his red couch,

" We were facing trouble with the other pack for land. Before making any decision, he wants to make sure that whether our pack is strong or not."

Brian nodded his head numbly and broke into a cold sweat. Who didn't know the ruthless king, Damien Trevisan? Being the youngest Royal to sit on the throne, he set an example for the entire werewolf world. Some even said that his wolf was more terrifying than those ancient beasts. Facing him wasn't so easy and falling on his bad side was absolute death.

Mr.Rogers continued, this time clearing his throat,

" Brian, I have to ask you a favor today!"

His father being sweet didn't feel good to Brian. He narrowed his eyes, blurting curiously,

" What is it, Dad?"

Mr.Rogers muttered, sneaking a glance upstairs,

" You have to lock Viona inside the room."

Brian retorted immediately,

" But Dad, she will be mad. Why must you lock her? It's not like she is going to bite everyone in front of the king."

Mr.Rogers shook his head disapproving,

" I can't take such a big risk of showing her dominance in front of the king. What if he suspects her nature? No! It's not happening! You must lock her up until the king goes back. I don't want to reveal her shrewd character to the whole world."

Brian still wanted to refute his father but Beta's loud alarming voice shocked them suddenly,

" The Alpha King is here!"
