Ella was returning home from her job, which hardly paid enough to support her and her family.
"It's getting really dark. I should take the alley as a shortcut to my apartment," she thought to herself. She was walking as fast as she could toward her apartment, when suddenly, 'THUD' a loud noise was heard.
"Is anyone there?" She asked nervously. Though she was afraid and nervous, her curiosity caused her to walk towards the source of the noise. She headed there hesitantly and nervously, but what she saw made her freeze in her spot.
