"Dad I can't marry him!" Vero shouted at his father.

"Yes, you can and you will.. End of the discussion.. If you want to live in the streets and be a beggar, go and leave. Let's see how far you can go." Mr. Ledesma smirk at him.

"What else are you looking for? Zene is perfect for you. He is good looking, highly educated, from the most respected, prominent and elite family, you really suited on each other, not to mention he is a wife material, he is a good cook and a great baker.. And he is very polite and kind." Madame Ledesma seconded her husband.

"Of course you like him that's why you cant see anything wrong with him." Mew shook his head. His parents are unbelievable.

"And because you don't like him that's why you can't see what's best in him! You choose, you won't get your inheritance, be a pauper and a beggar or Marry Zene, be the CEO of our company and remain on what you are right now." Mr. Ledesma said in full authority.

"This is crazy!" Vero chuckled dryly.

"Tonight t we will have a party, and we will announce your upcoming wedding with the only son of the Traipipattanapongs, dont make us a laughing stock in this society and attend.. Or I will find a hitman to shoot your little boyfriend." Mr. Ledesma said, not giving him a chance to decline.

Vero's face turned pale.

"Fine... I'll attend!"

Zene look at himself in the life size mirror, he wants to look good tonight, he can't stop himself from feeling giddy and excited.

"Mr. Ledesma, Sir Vero hasn't arrive yet." The party organizer said to Vero's father which reach Zene's ears.

Zene's body went cold on nervousness.

Vero really dislikes him.

Even in their engagement he won't attend.

"He's here." the organizer said.

Zene immediately rose up on his chair and go to meet Vero.

"You're late." Zene said softly trying to suppress his emotions.

"It's because I am not excited on this shit." Vero forcefully said.

"Is marrying me a SHIT for you?" Zene's voice quiver.

"You knew the answer, why ask? Are you perhaps a masochist?" Vero smirk on him. He didn't notice Zene's tears, he secretly wipe it and calm himself.

He cling on Vero's arm and pulled him inside. "At least act like a gentleman."

That close, Zene smells something mix on Vero's perfume.

"Are you with him that's why you are late?"

"Do I have to answer that?"

"No..." Zene whispered.

He knew that Ace is Vero's dearly beloved, I am practically stealing someone's boyfriend.

'Yes, I am selfish, and shameless.' a mocking part of his brain said.

Zeme is happy that they had a conversation, even though sometimes Vero always emphasize the fact that it is impossible for them to be together.

Zene is hurting, yes but another part of him specially his heart is filled with happiness and hope that someday Vero will have a change of heart.

"Finally.. Mr. Ledesma is here.. We can start the program." the MC said.

The whole duration of the party, Vero was just silent.

Vero's father stands up on the stage.

"We all want to announce the soon to be union of our sons, Ledesmas and Solitarios union, please my children stand up."

Vero stand up ang he guide Zene.

A loud round of applause came from the guests.

"All of you here, we are expecting you on that special day." Mr. Ledesma raise his wine glass.

"Cheers for the better future! Cheers for our sons harmonious union."

"CHEERS!!"

Zene imitate them and he drank his wine, bottoms up. While silently enjoying the liquor.

Zene get food and he put it on Vero's plate.

"Look how excited you are, you start your duties as a wife on our engagement." His voice was dripping in thick sarcasm.

"Just eat.. People are watching."

From a far, they look like sweet couple whispering on each other but in reality, Zene felt like Vero is a rock, numb and senseless.

But at least if they are married, he can do this to Vero, he will serve him, care for him and fulfill his fantasy with him.

But Zene hope that his last fantasy will come true. That one day,

VERO WILL FINALLY LOVE HIM.
